My family and I came here for a couple nights for the 4th of July. Parking at the hotel is very expensive, $57 a night. We know someone who lives in the area so we were able to leave our car with them. Upon check in, everyone was nice and got us checked in. We were asked if we needed help with our luggage but we didn't have much. I like how the staff seem to always acknowledge me when I came down the elevator. They would smile, say hi, open the door. The room was large and the AC unit worked well. We were able to use the sauna and hot tub the first night and that was very nice. The hot tub is pretty small, luckily we had it all to ourselves. Leaving the hotel you really don't need a car, everything is within walking distance. There is a good breakfast place right down the street. After the fireworks we had to walk back to the hotel late at night because Waymo and uber was not available. The area around the hotel at night can be pretty dangerous. We encountered people doing drugs on the street. Someone also followed us for a while and when he got close to me I moved to the side and watched him. I have no idea what he was trying to do, maybe snatch my purse. We let him go ahead then he stopped and waited for us to get ahead and followed us again. We kept looking at him so he left eventually. When we finally got to the hotel there was a staff that opened the door for us which was nice because it was almost midnight. I felt safer knowing someone was watching the door at night.

    Uper thigh area.

Beware of bed bugs! We've stayed at the Donatello many times, mostly because its a great location. We'll be staying elsewhere. A great location isn't worth dealing with bed bugs!

The customer service, that I've encountered so far, were friendly from the porter to the club desk on the 15th floor. Negative #1: Toilet is too high for short legs. Peep hole on the door, is 5' high, I'm 5'1", and I can't reach the hole, not that I need to look out. Negative #2: You can hear people screaming outside, not their fault! Negative #3: The living room area lamps, you need to turn it on/off by hand, not from a wall. Negative #4: As owner for a week, (Time Share) we have to pay for parking $40 a day! That's total ridiculous! Negative #5: We're one floor from Club Donatello, since we're higher up heaven, I thought the view there would be more heavenly, than what we have on the 14th floor, facing the Marriott's side walls. I was wrong! I was planning on spending more time there, relaxing, reading or something, and having a time of my life on the upper deck, but there's really NO VIEWS of the city! So disappointed! Positive so far: Pillows perfect, reminds me of my pillow from home! (Hubby said: too plump!) Positive #2: I like the lamp that comes with plug for my phone, but it's facing towards the window, and so was the switch (negative?) Positive #3: Spacious living area and bed! I can do my power walk, here & pray my Rosary, like I do on my porch at home! Positive #4: Love the furniture and glass inserts in the tub, and mirror walls everywhere in/out of the bathroom area. I can't help but twice, I walked from bar/closet to the bathroom, but it was the mirror wall. The room reminds me of one we stayed in Paris, even the color of the chair & bureau. Positive #5: I love the black & white photos.

It's been a week and I was told Marie Vergara would be in contact with me. She has not contacted me to find a resolution. The problem is not solved, the hotel lost/threw away my items and will not take accountability. They have admitted to throwing away items left behind from guest before but refuse to believe that it might have happened to my items. Once you report your items missing/lost, they then imply that you are lying. Then tell you that someone from upper management will be in contact and you are ghosted. So much for "improvement." What's the point of sharing experiences like these if they are just going to be ignored? You provide a response just to show that you "care" when your staff actions demonstrate that they could careless. Great job! Update: Marie finally contacted me and I have attached her email. Even from an Executive Manager, she is saying pretty much giving me a professional "F" you. Yes, it is my responsibility to check the room prior to departure but take accountability that your staff do not take your Policy of Customers items seriously. My items were thrown away, I'm being told a liar although I do not have possession of my items. If you want your items stolen, thrown away, or lost this is the place to stay!

The staff were very help and attentive to our needs. There is an Italian restaurant on the second floor and an area to purchase drinks and snacks. The rooms are spacious, clean and keep most of the street noises out.

Location is great if you are wanting to be near union square. Also easy to get to Market street and all the public transit that runs around that area. Stayed here twice and have loved the rooms and now since the last time we stayed they have the top floor opened as a lounge area with free papers, coffee, gym and jacuzzi. Also mention the coffee is actually good so that will save you a few bucks if you need to start your morning with coffee. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. One thing you do not need is "the welcome package" got to be firm about that if you don't want it as we all know that is a lead to a timeshare presentation. Sometimes i do like going to those if the timing is right and the gift bribe is worth my time. Maybe if that works for you then go ahead and do it. Normally i would say of course not to buy a timeshare but i also feel the prices are so outrageous that do i need to say don't do it?

This place is great! Studio apartments with a full size bathroom and a kitchenette (sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishes). Also, there tv is Chrome Cast ready (Netflix, Hulu, etc). Entertainment covered! It's so quiet and has valet parking with in and out service for $50/day. It's close to Tad's steakhouse, Fishermen's Wharf and movie theaters. The staff is amazing and check-in was a breeze. Room service is available for their on-site restaurant Zingari Ristorante (Italian) for lunch and dinner. Also, breakfast can be be pre-ordered from Club Donatello's Buon Giorno by completing a form and left on your door knob. Everything of course charged to your room. The facility has a lounge with excellent views and on that floor you will find a small but clean gym and a massage room (by appointment?). No pool but they have a sauna. We've stayed at Canterbury in which we loved (one bedroom) but it's a busy location. The Donatello is perfect for our needs and I can see us staying here in the future.

Is there parking open to public at this location for a fee? Also is it available for trucks?

    Access to Laundry Facilities?

I don't believe there is any free access to laundry if that is what you are asking.

    Is their parking lot secured?

The lot is attached to the building. They have parking attendants they pull the cars in and pull them out, right at the front door.

Is this hotel close to bart?

The Powell street station is less that a mile.

The hotel has two restaurants, one for breakfast and one for bar and dinner. But there are so many good restaurants nearby as well. Convenient. When it was my turn at the counter, we were checked in pretty quickly and given a run down of the layout and weekend activities. Fresh water is provided right by the elevators so you can fill water bottles before heading to your rooms. And in the morning, hot coffee is provided right before you head out for the day. Pretty thoughtful. My stay was two nights, and the first night the street music and sounds came thru loud and clear. But the second night, it was quiet outside. So it's unpredictable if my stay would be relaxing or nerve racking. The room for 3 was a good size with a large bathroom, large windows of street view, and sizable writing desk, and arm chair. I got to use the gym once and it had all the general equipment and fairly large room. Upon check out, we received the kid welcome gift which was supposed to be at check in, but check in was chaotic so it was better late than never. And the staff were all very nice and friendly during our stay. We would come back to this location if we get the chance again.

Not once have I ever had to ask for anything to be sent up to my room. It's all already taken care of. And let's talk about the breakfast setup! Because this is one of the best hotel breakfast I've ever had in my life. There's a hot bar with bacon, sausage and potatoes and eggs and it rotates daily. There's a yogurt bar with fresh fruit and even hard boiled eggs, there's always oatmeal with toppings. There's a center island filled with all of the carbs you can think of even tortillas. Do note, you don't have someone on staff there but available by text and you use a key app, that they notify the day you are checking in - which I think works well - it is nice to have an affordable way to get out of the heat in Phoenix, especially in the summer, and I'm not looking for a resort experience but a place to lay my head and keep my stuff while I go enjoy the sights and sounds, and amazing food and drink, of the local area.

Given location/amenities, I think up to around $200/night would be a fair discount rate (as of Summer 2026) Location: is good for tourists and the area in general feels safe and clean as the city has cleaned this area up a bit from previous years. Parking: $94 a day for valet (no self park.) Yep, welcome to Downtown San Francisco. You could valet park in the small garage across the street for $32 but no in/out privileges. Lobby/Check-in: It's an atrium style hotel with lobby on the 3rd floor. Check-in was easy. Lobby is nice with a bar and lots of seating with a whole other seating area to the side and behind the bar. They have their climate control too cold though in the Lobby. Dining: There's only one restaurant at lobby level with just a view of the building next door. Prices are very high but short of outrageous considering you are in a JW in the middle of San Francisco. We thought it would be hard for 2 people to use the $80 credit for breakfast. Not so when average breakfast entrees are in the $33-$38 range. We also ate dinner in the restaurant. The food for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Not Michelin Star level of course, and overpriced, but actually pretty quite good for a hotel restaurant. Note there is a setup for a Buffet Breakfast (were told it is $52/person when open) but they didn't run it on Saturday or Sunday so there was a bit of a wait to get a seat in the restaurant for breakfast. Rooms: Rooms are decent size and well-furnished in good condition but although they don't feel outdated, they feel a little 'tired around the edges' so to speak. If you want that freshly renovated feel, you won't get it here. Bathroom size is going to vary as our large corner room with a sitting area with table had a very small bathroom and our neighbors had a smaller room but with a decent size bathroom. Street noise was minimal on the 12th floor but if you are sensitive to the noise, I wouldn't go any lower than floor 10. Views will vary but likely will be of the side of another building through what I call 'prison windows' which is a smaller than average window opening inset within a concrete looking surround. Bed was comfortable, mattress was good but felt slightly stiff/tired as though it was probably getting near then end of its lifespan but still quite comfortable. Linens very good. So overall good beds but nothing to write home about. I had read the reviews and although I typically stay in this level of a hotel I had tempered my expectations and so the stay was satisfying and served its purpose with no unpleasant surprises. If you want to be less prone to having an overcharged feeling: a) Use valet across the street or SpotHero app to find cheaper in/out parking nearby (if you have a car) and b) don't bother eating/drinking in the hotel -- go elsewhere to non-hotel restaurants to eat and drink.

To all Marriott members from Silver, Gold, Platinum, Titanium, etc…read more Do not stay at this Marriott, find another one, for the following reasons. - They do not have a concierge - They do not have a pool - They will charge full price for breakfast, I paid $240.00 for breakfast (please see attached) These are all facts, I am also a "Lifetime Titanium" Member, And they treated me like crap. I asked for reimbursement regarding my breakfast. They refused. Obviously, I love Marriotts, stay away from this place!!! When they respond, revert to my invoice and remember I'm a "Lifetime Titanium" member. Arnie
