Currently my son and his roommate have been without AC, in this Kansas heat, for over 1 week that we know of. His roommate was the only one there for the previous week, so it could be 2 weeks. There is such a dysfunction in the management that the boys have had to walk over to the office to talk to a real person. They tell them, "we will get to it when we can". OMG Really? I never talk about suing anyone, but this time I am a MAD, MAD mom! Their lease is over at the end of July; never again! Stay away! read more

Our son signed a lease in March 2024. In July we contacted them because we had not heard anything. Apparently, they many leases when management turned over. Terrible communication, no website, etc. The people that answer the phone are nice, but "I don't know" is LITERALLY their response to everything! (I'm not sure why we pay people to answer phones when they aren't trained to answer questions.) In August 2024 the A/C went out in the unit. After 4 days of "I don't know", my son and his roommate are still living in a unit that is 95+ degrees. Completely unacceptable. Would not recommend living here. (For what it's worth--this was NOT in my top 3 places of where I wanted my son to live--but I let him choose. Experience (in this case, bad experience) is the best teacher! read more

Absolutely awful experience. There's mold in multiple buildings and I've had a hole in the bathroom ceiling for 4 weeks. Water was leaking for months before they took my complaint seriously. They have changed management companies AND there was a mix up with utilities so I had no power for 7 hours in my apartment. Rent from somewhere else! read more

This apartment complex is the absolute worst. My daughter lived there for a semester and during that short period of time their AC broke and was never properly fixed, the refrigerator broke and wasn't fixed for weeks, and a toilet overflowed in the apartment above them causing sewage water to pour down through the ceiling into my daughters shower. They fixed the problem but never properly cleaned or painted the damage that was done. Honestly to me the worst part about the management there is that they pretend to nice and helpful but they never actually do anything. They just make a lot of empty promises and hope you will eventually give up. After months of requests and complaints, mainly about their broken AC, the office ended up giving my daughter and her roommates a $100 Visa gift card which is a laughable compensation for the conditions they were forced to live in. To top this nightmare off, a few of my daughter's things were accidentally left behind when she moved out. We called and asked that they please hold onto the items and someone would be coming to pick them up. I spoke with Kat, one of the managers, who told me they would hold onto them. I asked her when a good time was for someone to come get them and on two different occasions one of my daughter's friends tried to pick them up during those times. Both times there was no one at the office. Apparently they close the office whenever the weather is bad. I called back again a few weeks later to see when someone could come pick up the things just to find out my daughter's things were gone. They had my name and number, knew who the things belonged to, and never called to let me know they were going to get rid of them. But they did try to flat out lie and say that they tried to contact me. They also tried to tell me that my daughter's friend never came by to pick up the things. How would they know?!! They weren't there!!! Unbelievable. Long story short, STAY AWAY from The District! But if you have the misfortune of living there, don't believe a single word Kat or any of the management tries to tell you! read more

Stay away, I'd give 0 stars if I could. My daughter lived here and experience was horrible. They take weeks to respond to respond to broken numerous hvac issues and didn't complete other repair for two years. When moving out, they require carpet cleaned by professional service or pay a fee and they say they will clean, yet floors were filthy at move in. I don't like posting negative reviews but people need to avoid the complex. read more

This establishment is the worst place to live in manhattan. Absolutely terrible business and management, we had black mold in our apartment when we moved in, and the air conditioning doesn't get below 75° in the summer. We also had a brown recluse spider infestation and had to take the extra time and money to wash every single piece of clothing that we owned to get rid of them. All the while putting in complaints and they did NOT help or care whatsoever. Just a warning to everyone considering this place, go across the street to the pointe. Anywhere but this place. If I could give this complex a zero star rating, I would. I had numerous problems with awful management, untimely maintenance workers and disgusting facilities. If you get an apartment that was actually renovated (mine was suppose to be, but wasn't) then you may find the apartment itself okay, but it isn't worth dealing with the management. They lost paperwork, tried to double charge me for my pet deposit, never responded to complaints/concerns, didn't give me my mailbox key for over a month, failed to tell my my apartment number or roommate information until two weeks before move in, had INCREDIBLY high energy bills that they would do nothing to alleviate, and much, MUCH more. You'll also have problems with maintenance not showing up on time (or at all), improperly fixing things or failing to properly do snow/ice removal during the winter. Also, expect to pay a decent amount for laundry (the units are not in your apartment), but remember you aren't allowed to wash your bedding, so good luck on that one. Prepare to buy new clothing as well because I had 4 pairs of jeans ruined by their washers. For anyone interested, I have a 5 page document detailing all the problems I had while living here. Perhaps, instead, save yourself time, money and patience and live somewhere else. read more

I wish I could not give them any stars. When they say "updated apartment", not everything will be updated. So many things that need to be fixed they won't because it will cost them too much money when it really needs to be fixed. We had 2 windows that have holes or leak and they won't fix it because they have to replace the windows. It also takes maintenance wayyyyyy too long to come and look or fix the problem. I am always dealing with something about this apartment, whether it's charges that shouldn't be there, or something that needs to be fixed, or just the most random things. My old place was nothing like that and never had a stupid computer system. The 2 people who work at the office are very friendly and nice but the property manager that we dealt with was so rude (I believe she works at the Point and came over because our property manager wasn't there for the second time when we scheduled meetings). She was difficult to deal with and when something goes wrong and you are upset about something she blames it on you and say they won't work with you. I know its cheap to live here but they undermine you and in the end it is not worth it at all. read more

Terrible, terrible experience with this apartment complex. First of all, communication there is absolutely terrible. There are a lot of different college kids working the office, and apparently there's no training. You'll get a different answer depending on whom you ask your question. There's a $30 app fee, which is pretty standard, then they ask you to put down $100 towards your deposit. Supposedly this is refundable within 3 days. I did this, but didn't get to see the lease until after the 3 days were up. When they emailed me the lease to sign, they said I could sign it when I did my inspection. Then a couple days later they called and said no, I needed to sign it and get it in right away. Um... okay. So I opened up the lease and began reading. Here's where it gets bad. The lease is more of a book. It's 24 PAGES LONG! Seriously. If you want to see it, email me. I'll forward it to you (hermann329@yahoo.com). There are several addendums and legal obligations that are crazy. For example, one of them is that the tenant is responsible for to fix anything that goes wrong with the shower drains, garbage disposal or toilets. If you don't, and you call their maintenance to fix it, they charge you. Um, why have a maintenance staff and high rent fees for them if you have to fix it yourself? But here's the worst part of the lease. There's an addendum on the lease that is required to be signed. This addendum in so many words allows Chase to come back and charge the tenant at any time after they move out for anything in the apartment. No end date. So basically they can come back and charge you years down the road for any amount for any reason. What the heck?!?! No person in their right mind should sign that, but people do. Not sure why; maybe they don't read it carefully. After I read this, I addressed the issues with the lease, and they stated that the issues I saw are non-negotiable. Fine, whatever. So give me back my $100. I didn't see the lease within your 3 day allottment. Their answer-- Nope. No refunds. Even though it was their problem I didn't see the lease within the time limit. If you want to move there, I'm sure the apartments and amenities are very nice. But the legal obligations you'll be under could come back to bite you later. Good luck. read more

I moved into a 2 bedroom at Chase in March of 2014. The office staff was always friendly. Salome and Felicia were very helpful when I was applying and communicated with me through the entire process. The apartment was pretty basic but good quality and the electric bill was usually reasonable. Any time I had a maintenance issue, they took care of it quickly. Even move out went well. Chase Manhattan is a terrible place to live and is not recommended. The staff is very rude and there is minimal communication and follow-through with maintenance requests. We had issues with water leaking into every window in the apartment every time it rained, we made night time emergency maintenance request calls and put in at least three separate in person maintenance requests and they told us that it was bad siding and there was nothing they could do. It led to water damage on the carpet and drywall in the bedrooms which led to mold growth that they did not clean up. Instead of replacing the siding, they decided to put lipstick on a pig and just paint the siding to increase the visual appearance. The washers and dryers are in poor working order and often takes multiple cycles to clean and dry your clothes. I also had issues with the washers and dryers having exposed screw heads on the inside and tearing up clothes. We also had the pleasure of termites falling out of a crack in our ceiling in the kitchen. We brought this to the attention of the management in the office and she told me I was lying it wasn't termites. I caught a couple of the termites and brought them as physical proof to the office in which her response was to send an "expert" to deal with the issue. Instead of spraying to kill the bugs, they just patched up the hole so that the bugs can continue to munch on the wood and potentially compromise the structural integrity of the building going into the future. The maintenance staff was very unwilling to actually help, and often took short cuts to just get the job done such as just switching broken door knobs instead of replacing the damaged ones. Our toilets ran constantly for the entirety of our lease and one of the bathrooms only had hot water which they didn't know how to fix and never sent a professional. Overall, it was a very bad experience and their true colors showed in our move out report when we were charged for over $200 worth of items "missing" from the apartment that weren't there to begin with. $11,000 in rent is not worth this kind of treatment and living conditions. read more
