My husband and I bought our wedding bands and my engagement ring from The Diamond Source is 1999. The rings were lovely and we have always recommended The Diamond Source to family and friends. When my husband lost his wedding ring, he went back to The Diamond Source to buy a new one. Fast forward 27 years. My husband wanted to have an eternity ring made for me for our anniversary. Of course we went back The Diamond Source. We have had an absolutely abysmal experience with them this time around. They designed a Diamond and sapphire eternity ring for us. While they were designing the ring, I also dropped off my engagement ring to be resized and repaired. The platinum band was bent and 1 of the prongs was completely missing and the other one was loose. Fanny said they could resize and fix the ring. We purchased the eternity ring the day after Valentine's Day and dropped off my engagement ring the same day. We were told it would be ready in 3 weeks and the engagement ring should take a week. When we got the engagement ring back 5 weeks later, it had not been fixed at all, but had been resized. The eternity ring was given to me and I did not inspect it carefully while at the store. The ring kept snagging on everything, so I took it off and looked at it carefully. The stones were crooked, they were almost coming out of the setting in two places. All of the stones were uneven. When I asked about the quality of the setting, Fanny said to bring it back and they would fix it and make it right. We dropped off the ring, fully expecting to be able to discuss the problems with the setting but Fanny just took the ring and said she would call us when it was ready. We never received a call. We called for several weeks and finally, she said she would bring the ring to us. When we got the ring, it was still not set properly. I took pictures of the ring both times. It was very poor work. By this time, I was so upset and just wanted to hs e our money refunded. We called Fanny and after contacting her dozens of times with no return call, she finally answered the phone and told my husband she would talk to the jeweler about refunding the money. Two more weeks passed by. Nothing. We called bs Kason and she said they would give us a partial refund. She said they would send half of the money to us via check and the following week, the other half. We returned the ring and she said she would send half on Monday and the remainder the following week. Here we are in mid June and we still have not received the money from them. The ring was atrocious. The service has been absolutely horrible. 99% of the time we call, we get no return phone call. They don't answer the phone. At their place of business! We will end up having to go to small claims court, because thus far, Fanny has not done anything she promised us. What should have been a delightful experience has ended up being a horrible experience. I would never in a million years have expected this experience from The Diamond Source. We called them today, they answer and then hang up. They have basically stolen our money at this point. The ring was returned and they are not returning the money they promised us. If you want a good experience buying your loved one a gift, my advice is to stay clear of The Diamond Source. They are not the reputable company they were 27 years ago. My husband purchased my engagement and wedding band here. My wedding band has 12 purple sapphire stones on it. Not even 24 hours after being married, a stone already came out. They said they would fix it and to give them a week. ONE MONTH LATER, after calling several times, it was ready for pick up. Customer service is sincerely lacking. I brought in a piece for cleaning and repair; a gold bracelet that belonged to my late grandmother. They've had it for 3 months, and I haven't received a single call about the status. I've stopped in four times, and there's always been an excuse. Went with my husband to design my wedding ring nearly 3yrs ago now. The ring was valued at around $25,000 and the band was an additional $5,000. In the same purchase I also got a near $15,000 round brilliant cut 2.5ct diamond necklace. During the process of designing my ring and choosing the stone Marko (the jeweler) began literally yelling at me because I asked to see the stones paperwork, stating I had accused him of being a fraud and a liar. My husbands a big guy, with a few calm but choice words Marko calmed down and offered a discount on the necklace and to put my birthstone in my old band as a kind gesture. But already just WTF? 1-We're spending an additional $20,000 and had already spent $30,000 here and that's how he treats his customers? 2- As a jeweler in the high end jewelry game it's COMMON SENSE- you're supposed to give the stones paperwork to the customer. 3- I had my sleeping newborn with me and he's yelling at me. If I hadn't been trading in my original ring (it was purchased here unfortunately) there's no way in hell I would have continued to do business with this place. Unfortunately the sh*t show saga doesn't end with a bad attitude. I'll start with my wedding ring. The ring took two weeks longer than expected so if you want a ring for a special occasion don't count on this place to have it done in time. The diamond is unevenly set and hugs to the left. The pear micro-pave setting is also uneven so none of the diamonds sit flush and the prongs are lazily done, so much so, that on the upper right side one of the diamonds is pushed way down so it looks like there isn't one there and after a year of having the ring this exact diamond fell out. I'd say it was good business that he replaced it within a day but it once again was lazily done and still looks sunken. For nearly 3yrs I have been asking for my diamond rings paperwork. I can't even remember how many times I've called now asking for it, just to get the lady who answers ( if anyone answers) telling me one of these three things- she'll send it to me (she's even taken my information a few times with this promise and guess what's never come), I can come get it or she'll call me right back and NEVER DOES. When my husband took my ring to be fixed she said she'd give him the paperwork and nope she forgot! I finally went and had the ring appraised and low and behold- it's worth about less than I was charged. No wonder they won't give me the paperwork. Next my old band that he said he'd put my birthstone in. My birthstone is citrine; he told me it would be ready in about two weeks to a month same time as my wedding ring. It took well over a year until it was ready and he tried to blame it on COVID. Fair enough right? COVID didn't come around till nearly 5 months after this transaction. Then literally THE DAY AFTER I received the ring- a huge chip fell out of the upper left corner of the gem. Citrine is known for being pretty dang durable as well and my day to day doesn't involve anything that would cause this to happen; I even take my rings off when I do the dishes. Last but not least is my 2.5ct round brilliant cut diamond necklace. After just two years of having it- THANK GOD some weird random instinct had me look at the necklace to see that one of the prongs holding the diamond in place had snapped off and the diamond was about to fall out. Took it to another shop and they re-set it. It's a necklace. There's zero wear and tear and it's on a short chain that sits above a shirts neckline; one more thing that just should not have happened especially at these prices. In conclusion- I'd say I've been MORE THAN patient waiting for the paperwork for this ring and for him to prove the value for what I paid. Ive been polite while I've been screamed at. I've given this place a sh*t load of money just to literally buy junk and be treated like crap. The next call they're getting now is going to be from my attorney. This man just saw a young couple who was going to spend some money and decided to take complete advantage. Do NOT spend your hard earned money at this place. It may have been a hit back in the day but now it's just a rip off with the rudest staff you'll ever meet. Getting your ring or any kind of expensive jewelry for that matter should be a great experience and the jewelry should most importantly, LAST for a very long time and BE what it is claimed to be. David showed us different diamonds through the magnifying glass ("loop") to check for carbons or other imperfections, and placed my favorite loose diamond in my favorite platinum setting. He then encouraged us to TAKE IT OUTSIDE. I thought he was crazy, but having it outside in the natural sunlight made an enormous difference. I knew this ring was special, but we left the store without it. At dinner that night, across the street from The Diamond Source, I suddenly started crying. The Boy thought (and still thinks) that I had lost my mind. He asked me what on earth was wrong, and I confessed that, without realizing it till just that second, my ring was waiting for me just across the street. We went back for it the next day. David promised it would be ready in about two weeks. Six days later, it was on my finger. I haven't taken it off since--he hadn't even officially proposed yet! Wow! Never do business with this jewelry store! Thinking that because they had been at their location for over 40 years , they could be trustworthy. On December 26, 2019 my son deposited a solitaire diamond to propose to his girlfriend but she really desired an oval diamond. Fanny at Diamond Source was notified and she never returned the call. On Feb 26, 2020 a receipt was presented to diamond Source and a refund was requested in person after so many unreturned calls. Today is March 23, 2020 and there has been no credit given and my son does not have a diamond. Diamond Source is a family run business and Marco sold the diamond to us however Fanny and April their bookkeeper keep deflecting the issue on each other by claiming taxes and bills had to be paid therefore they cannot get to this refund at this time. I worked with Fanny and she showed me several different settings based on what I showed her I was looking for. Every diamond I saw shocked me. They were of such better quality than the ones I had seen the day before. I couldn't believe my eyes. The clarity and overall quality was well beyond anything I had seen previously. We picked a stone the same day and arranged for financing which was easy and convenient. Any questions I had through out the process I could just pick up the phone or shoot her an email and she was there with an answer. Truly individualized service at it's best. I felt like I was being helped to make the perfect decision and not that I was being sold or pushed at anything like the other places I visited, where they were eager to get me into financing right away or put down a deposit before I left the store. One store even told me that I couldn't look at a bigger stone for a particular setting that I had my eye on. because it wouldn't look right... I wasn't aware that getting a larger stone was an issue? Unfortunately, I started having a reaction to my ring and would have to take it off to let my finger heal. After the years my allergy to white gold got worst. My husband and I visited Diamond Source to ask what they think the solution would be. They were so bummed out that I had been experiencing this problem for so long that they wanted to solve it right away. They took all of my diamonds and created the same custom setting but in Platinum so that my allergic reaction would stop. My husband upgraded my diamond and Diamond Source allowed us to trade in our diamond for what he paid so we could upgrade. The setting and upgraded diamond cost ways less than a brand new ring and I feel like I still have my custom original ring, only now with no allergies. Thank you Diamond Source!!! I called ahead because its Christmas eve, a lady answered the phone and said that they were going to be open for another hour or so. We decided to stop in, no more than 10 minutes later. Wanted to check out ring sizes for me and my fiancé to get a feel for things. The gentlemen asked us if we had any questions so we told him what we intended to do.
