Very solid establishment with good service and food. They come around with a tray of warm rolls, which is always a great start. Highly recommend the value dinner, we both got it! It comes with a sizable skirt steak and choice of sauce, chips, and sticky toffee pudding (with custard or ice cream) for 25 pounds. We also added a side of the glazed carrots which had such natural carrot sweetness and flavor. For 25 pounds we got a lot of food, and didn't finish everything. The sticky toffee pudding was just the right size and I loved it with the ice cream. Go here before a show! I want to try for Sunday roast now.

Probably the hardest place to score a resy but if you follow the detailed instruction you may have to wait up around 2am pacific time and can potentially make a reservation but yes reservations are all gone within a minute's time. Is it worth the effort? For sure! Everything we had was perfectly cooked the British pub style. My scallops in their shell were baked perfectly and super fresh. The split pea soup with ham was amazing and great starters. The half lobster was moist and fresh. Really good! The pot pie was heavily. Glad we ordered that instead of a filet or a porterhouse as the pot pie is dedicatedly uniquely London. Service was spot on. Ambiance is vibrant and mostly local. Love it!

I think the food was good, but this place is overrated. The service was great from the guy (I think he was a food runner) who served the bread and took my order, but horrible from the woman who was technically my server. She was passive aggressive and not friendly or attentive at all. The meal started with a lovely salted milk bread roll and the salt added the perfect touch for a variety on the palette with the light and airy bread. I ordered the set menu with the steak and toffee pudding. The steak was cooked perfect but lacked flavor, and I wish it was warmer when it came out. I paired my dinner with the house red wine and it well with the set menu, and it was very smooth. The toffee pudding was rich and decadent, a great treat. Overall the experience was fine but I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

Shoutout to the Underground Tube employee who insisted, 'This is the hot spot right now!' Late 20 to 40s, corporate-after-work energy in blazers and casual business attire crowd. Thought we'd have to wait for an hour since it was very packed in/outside, but to order, you can walk directly in and to the counter, no line and ordered instantly. Ordered a Guinness at the counter (amazing price). Got a couch table shortly even on a busy night Seeing the crowd drinking outside on the street felt thrillingly illegal since we cant do that in the US. Our server cheered us on for trying "proper" London pub culture and even asked about Trump HAHA. I wish I lived here, I would be a regular.

The food was incredible. The taste, the texture. If I got back it's really only for the food. The service was so bad. It was almost embarrassing for us. We were sat down a bit past our reservation time which is totally fine and normal. They told us as soon as we got to the hostess stand that it was a bit behind and we had no problem with that. We were told to wait outside which I felt was a bit off. We went to the bar for a drink until our turn was up. We were sat to a beautiful little table. The setting was incredible with silver setting. Our table was towards the back and omg it was SO. HOT. We were the table closest to the cooking and it's a cool idea. A real fire stove but my necklace was heating up with the strength of the fire. I was so uncomfortable. My jewelry was literally hurting me!! The service was slow and inattentive. We waited to be addressed but after a while of getting too warm. We needed to wave someone down for water. It took a while to get to us which I get. They were running around. We then had to have someone down to get some of the very delicious bread being served. We were told our waiter would get it for us and we let them know we hadn't met them yet and they looked a bit shocked. They ended up bringing us some bread. The scallops were absolutely divine. I would order this again and again and again. So savory and buttery. So good! We ordered the lamb chops and beef suet for our main. I had never had beef suet so this was a first. The inside was good but the outside was a bit too soft for me. More than likely that's a personal preference though. The lamb chops were very good. I was a bit appalled as one of the servers had very long hair. She went to place something at the long table next to us, flicked her hair, and it hid my husband in the face. It was pretty funny because that had never happened to us so it just felt fitting with the way things were going here haha. All in all: the food is worth it. The table setting is great. The temperature is wild. The service was poor

I had the lamb burger which was great, being there on a Tuesday meant any draft beer was on the house with burger purchased. Score! There are other offers on other days of the week. Be sure to check them out on their website menu! The sound is great in the theatre room, clear and crisp. It's difficult to get seating if you're late, so try to get here early if coming for one of the acoustic nights. There's a fair selection of good beers and the place seems friendly overall. In all a nice place to relax and close to the nearby railway/underground station

The menu is brilliant and at not too much of a costly price (the chips are definitely recommended), it is brilliant for a group looking for an entertaining evening out. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights are the best for comedy (the weekends showcase the more renowned comedians with the Banana Cabaret). On some evenings you don't even have to pay to listen to the bands and artists but the staff are pretty strict on keeping talking to the minimum which is absolutely fair enough. In between music, comedy and cabaret they also hold Swing Dance and Tango classes! A great excuse to head to South London. Oh, and ladies - the men always seem to be rather good looking in here!

You may even find yourself sitting at a table that doubles up as an old-school sewing machine! You'll be entertained merely from gazing at the mesmerising array of curiosities - I notice something new on every visit. Added to that it's a wonderfully cosy, comfortable place with a real local feel despite its prime location. It's a wonder to me that it doesn't get over-run with the Clapham crowd - perhaps it's too "out-there" for that. Either way I'm not complaining, I love the POW POW POW (as it's neon sign proclaims) exactly as it is, although I must say Christmastime is best there - even more decorations! And I must mention the pizza: this is a new addition to the pub and used to be the menu at the Rose and Crown across the road. Oregano, a local pizza delivery now serves pizza on request at the POW and the quality is amazing - real wood-fired style with interesting toppings. My fav is the Funghi.

Thus went for a bottle of Wyld Wood cider, which was pretty nice. Was slightly shaken by the sight in the mirror of a man approaching me from behind in the urinals while undoing his zipper. He claimed short sightedness but I think a large measure of drunkeness may also have been involved. You can order in pizza from a local takeaway. If anyone saw the excellent recent documentary about 80s comedy, presented by Ben Elton, this is where Ben and Rik Mayall chatted over tea. POW POW POW!

I have been a few times after work and no matter what day of the week there is always a real lively atmosphere and everyone is up for a party! They serve a cool selection of cocktails and myself having a terribly sweet tooth, I always go for the ice-cream based ones (try the Irish Disco Biscuit) which are calorific but delicious. I would try and opt for cocktails during happy hour though as they are fairly expensive outside of that at £6.50 each. It does attract a young crowd and if you get easily annoyed by groups of people singing along to cheesy music, it probably isn't the ideal place for you. Good tunes, friendly people and fab atmosphere.

The dress code is casual, the atmosphere loud, hyper energetic, and in your face, and the drinks will get you in the singing mood in no time. Keep your eye out for the specials board as these will not only be good value for money but you are likely to get them served in record time since it's the bartenders' pick of the day. Don't be shy about belting one out if your favourite tune comes out over the speakers. The music mix may also be up to the barstaff as it can be quite eclectic with Linkin Park smashing out one minute and a softer Beatles ballad the next. I've also got to give credit to the barman for making 24 mojitos in one go to satisfy our pub golf group. I'd recommend buying your bartender a drink or two early on in the night. I've found that no matter when I go or even to which B@1, the bartenders love a good drink and will take care of you if you are willing to include them in a couple of rounds. I've even managed to get jaegerbombs passed over a crowd. So listen when I say - GET YOUR BARTENDER A DRINK! Plus, drunk bartenders are a little more generous with the pouring so really everyone is a winner. Overall, it's a good place to start a fun night out. Only problem is sometimes you just don't want to leave.
