This shop is a combo of Grand Hotel-themed souvenirs and an ice cream area on the side. But they use the same Guernsey Farms Dairy product as the hotel. My wife had the Birthday Cake - appropriate as it was her birthday! My choice was easy: it had to be the Mackinac Island Fudge. Ice Cream in the downtown parlor is to-go only, so we found a spot overlooking the ferry boats coming and going for some scenery while eating. This was good ice cream - wow. My Mackinac Island fudge was super rich and a mixture of vanilla, fudge swirls and not sure what else but it was amazing. My wife's Birthday Cake was vanilla with yellow cake batter, swirled fudge and chocolate cake pieces - again, amazing. We were in full food coma after, but what a way to go.

Sadie's Ice Cream Parlor was the perfect sweet ending to my first day at the Grand! I chose the Peanut Butter Mackinac Fudge, and it was pure creamy goodness--rich, decadent, and packed with generous ribbons of peanut butter and chunks of Mackinac fudge. Every bite was absolutely delicious and left with wanting more! One of my favorite things is how conveniently Sadie's is attached to the Grand Hotel. As a hotel guest, it's was a treat to grab my ice cream and (after 6:30 p.m while dressed according to the evening dress code), enjoy it while relaxing in the beautiful Parlor. It adds an extra touch of charm to an already memorable Grand Hotel experience. Whether you're craving a classic favorite or a signature flavor, Sadie's is absolutely worth a stop. Delicious ice cream, genuine hospitality, and an elegant setting made it much more than just a place for dessert.

The Ice Cream Shoppe is THE place to go in the summer (and you better go a lot because it's only…read moreopen May-August!) It's a little shack right by the marina in downtown Cedarville, and you can eat your delicious cone or sundae out at the tables by the water - if it's sunset, even better! The shoppe always is well-stocked with three cases of rotating flavors of ice cream (Mackinac Island Fudge is always there, though!) plus plenty of specialty sundaes, shakes and malts to choose from. One of my family members orders a Heavenly Hill sundae (with hot fudge and Reese's Pieces on top) every time - yum! One scoop is $2 and two is only $2.50. Sundaes are a little more ($3.75-$4.75) but remember you're paying for the experience and the enjoyment of summer! They also serve hot dogs and other food-shack-type but I've never tried them. You can order from inside (standing room for only about 4 people!) or outside at the window but I think the inside is faster and you can see all the ice cream flavors. In the evenings there's usually a bit of a line but the girls who usually are working there are fast and friendly. Small little parking lot fits about 5-6 cars. There's a little slide where kids can play and a gazebo with extra seating, and it's just an all-around perfect experience to go out for ice cream in the summers in Cedarville!

Friendly staff. Amazing ice cream. You eat outside by the docks and there is a park next to it.read more
