Eligibility for dental cleaning is based on skin color and national origin: only differences in my family that led to different availability of service, which is apparently "discretionary". Admin staff at the front think that it is funny: they couldn't stop smirking when I pointed out that identical appointments under identical insurance got such different care. I was told that I could go on a "waitlist" but that I would need to call "every day" to see if there are any openings. Admin once again thought this was funny.

The reason I've bumped my review down to 4 stars is that my family has occasionally had issues with miscommunications between the office and insurance companies regarding payment and coverage, leading to some confusion. At first it seemed procedural but it was not long until they started offering expensive services like mouth guards for night botox to stop teeth grinding. It felt like scare sales tactics every time i went in. I eventually got two new crowns after some visits and genuinely thinking they were necessary. Both of them popped out in less than a year. I called the office to see what they could do. They said I would have to pay for it all over again and laughed at me telling me there is no warranty on crowns. This was after the office people talked to Dr. Molldrem and called me back. I already got one redone and have to do the other soon. I have to pay for the crowns twice! UPDATE because I almost forgot about the random $1,000 bill i got after i thought I was all paid up because, for (1) they messed up the insurance calculation on the crowns and for (2) they couldn't figure my insurance out for the teeth cleaning (which I had) that could have been resolved had THEY not waited so long.

Today the dental exam was super rushed literally 2 minutes. So that must be a good sign. The hygienist Jackie is super nice. These corporate dental offices seem like stepping stone jobs for dentists. This office is open 7 am-8 pm every day but Friday. So hours are great for people who work. Bummer they don't take Tri Care Insurance or my son could go here too. My experiences with Dentist of Eden Prairie should be a word if caution to others. First I was charged for a cleaning that I did not have. If I had not checked the insurance form that came to me I would not have known. I had to let the insurance company know and ask for correction from Dentists of Eden Prairie. I do not know if the insurance company was reimbursed. Their explanation was a change in software. Months later on a Friday I needed a root canal and the result was terrible. I had had other root canals when I lived in Missouri - fairly easy procedure. Not with DEP. I bruised and a hard knot formed from my eye socket to my jaw. I called three times to their emergency service before I got a call back. It was a weekend was the explanation. The emergency service said the dentist would contact me within 2 hours or I should call the service again. Three call and I finally got a response. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days. It took nearly a month for the knot to completely dissipate. Then, in November I needed a new night guard. I was told it would take two to three weeks. I paid in full the day they did the scan. That was November 10. It is now December 26 and I still don't have the night guard.When I called after three weeks I was told they would call when it was in. I finally called back today and asked for the dentist to call me. Guess what - no call back. Be warned!
