Took an ex-ray, said I needed 2 root canals. The dentist said the tooth was a little high & proceeded to grind it down? Well the drill skipped off the tooth, chipped the one next to it exposing the nerve. Furthermore, I was touching my tongue to the roof of my mouth so he could work. When the drill slipped it cut the underneath of my tongue! I went home & the pain was excruciating pain all night. Called them to ask for pain killer they said can't & we can a root canal on Monday, this was Thursday? Went to another dentist. Gave me a shot, 1 root canal, out of pain & ok. Use Brick Dental at your risk. i'm 74 yrs. old & have never given a bad review of a dr. or dentist. Lew, Brick, N.J. I called and asked for an itemized listing of everything I was being billed for - the staff was very short with me and sent the same bill - with no itemization. I paid the amount in its entirety back in May, 2024 and felt compelled to switch dentists due to the lack of transparency, only to receive another $400 bill with no detail months later - all this for a cleaning and a cavity and insurance! I have been debating writing this review for quite a while, since Brielle Dentistry Co seems to…read moreonly get rave reviews here and people appear to have had good experiences with them, but please consider my personal experience with them a cautionary tale. I went there for an emergency root canal, which went well, although I had to wait in the chair doing nothing for 45 minutes, before they finally started working on me, consequently making me late for work. Everyone was very nice and apologetic, but that was a bad first impression for me. They pushed the comprehensive dental exam for a later date, which I did get. They found many many issues with my teeth and gums, which really surprised me, as I practice excellent oral hygiene every day. Long story short - I moved to another state not long after this and found a dentist here, who did the exact same exam - all the bite-wing and panoramic x-rays, photos, physical exam, etc., and found only a tiny fraction of what Brielle "found." For example - Brielle told me I needed to get 2 back teeth extracted. I knew of one tooth, given what was going on, but the other tooth they wanted to extract turned out to be perfectly healthy and fine, with absolutely no need to extract, per my current dentist. Brielle also pointed out other work I needed to get done - another example: deep scaling - while the dentist I go to now found no issues whatsoever with my gums. And there were others. Needless to say, I would never to back to them.
