JAK Designs - A True Gem in Kennebunkport…read more If you're in Kennebunkport, do yourself a favor and visit JAK Designs on Dock Street. This beautiful little shop is a haven for anyone who appreciates high-quality, handmade knitwear. Jen and Tanya, the incredibly talented owner-artisans, create each piece in their nearby studio using natural and organic yarns. Their designs are not only elegant and versatile--they're also proudly made in the USA. Everything in the store feels lightweight, soft, and wearable in any season. I was especially taken with the linen capelets, which come in gorgeous colors like lavender and wine. They're the perfect year-round accessory--whether worn as a shrug with a classic scoop neck, or draped asymmetrically for a chic, modern look. I treated myself to one of the wine-colored wraps, and I can't believe how it elevated my simple jeans and white shirt into a polished, stylish outfit. It's rare to find clothing that feels this good and looks this effortlessly beautiful. Whether you visit the shop in person, catch them at a juried art show, or browse their website, you'll find something truly special at JAK Designs. Highly, highly recommended!

I sent message to the store via Facebook to…read moreinquire about the Sea Bags totes that were in stock before I made the half hour drive to the store. Lucy responded very quickly with detailed descriptions of the totes that fit my inquiry... she even sent photos! I was so grateful for the help before I drove there to be disappointed. I drove to the store and purchased one of the bags that she sent photos of & was amazed by how many other totes were in stock! Unfortunately, the bag I purchased wasn't exactly what I thought I needed. I emailed Daytrip ASAP to inquire about the return policy & if I could ship the return since I live a distance from the store. They responded quickly & gave me multiple options for returning my bag! I also inquired about another tote in that email & they gave prices, shipping costs & sent a photo! I could not be more satisfied with the service from Daytrip Society. They have WONDERFUL, quality products (many made in Maine) and are willing to bend over backwards to make customers happy! THANK YOU, DAYTRIP! I will definitely be back & recommend this store to anyone that is looking for a unique shopping experience while in Maine!

Dragon Star Creations is a must visit! You can't miss it, by the way, as there is an ENORMOUS gold dragon statue in front (for my Fourth Wing friends, it's giving big baby Andarna vibes). I was looking for a few very specific items, and the staff here went above and beyond to help me. Even after we both realized they didn't quite have what I was looking for, they spent time doing their own research and offered some creative suggestions that absolutely worked (and I genuinely wouldn't have thought of otherwise!). Even after I had made up my mind, they went ahead to do even more research to make sure I had all the knowledge I could about the items I was buying to make sure it aligned with my vision/needs. They're thoughtful, they're patient, they're friendly; I felt supported and never like I was being sold to while I was here. I ended up buying a couple seasonal candles too (handmade made by the owner!). They feel like they've got good energy, I love that they were topped with crystals and herbs unique to the season I was celebrating, and I'm excited to come back to buy more for my alter in the future!

We talked about jewelry, the designers & other entertaining subjects. Pasty is wicked nice. She's professional, engaging & enjoyed talking many subjects. She showed the differencs between wholesale & local artists. I bought a cool silver ring which fits perfectly w/ my gold ring as if they were made for each other! I highly recommend Sea Glass Jewelry. Patsy is invested & knowledgeable. Instead of waiting at Alisson's for take out I shopped around Sea Glass. The artists work at Sea glass are unique! I have bags of sea glass likely as old as when I was growing up on Cliff Island. I have many colors lavender, champagne pink, blues, greens, browns especially if they have a cool shape. The best areas are located on the little rocky beach fronts near Griffins Cove & like areas. I'll have to contact Pasty & ask her what's up? I have many unique pieces. Frosted crazy shapes. One color that evades a glass picker are the reds. I'll have to recheck my bag to recheck. I also pick up the incredible cool rocks. I found a beautiful one when I was a wee one. My friend told me it was soap stone. It was the greatest find. I think she planted it knowing I wanted one. It was had a variable greens diamond pattern. the design was similar to a particular snake. i'll have to research which one. I don't know where it is..I still have many things I've collected many moons ago. I may have it in my stash. It would be a great piece to come across. Thanks Patsy for making my stay nicer. I hope to see you again. Is sea glass going for the same cost as a gram of gold?? If so I am super wealthy!! Haha. Great place to find unique pieces & meet great people like Patsy! Have a good one! Happy New Year! Thank you. Laurie~.The island Lady:)

Firstly, this store is full of cool items to buy... mostly around ocean/exploration/sailing theme. Lots of really cool stuff. I bought from here something that was carved from a reclaimed oil steel drum into the shape of a whale. I liked the idea behind taking something like this and recycling into a cool little piece of art. Also the dark/rust color of the item really goes with the dark wood in my room. I also bought this beautiful compass. It's built into a box which has a carving of a fisherman reeling in a mermaid... certainly looked distinctive and I liked it a lot. There were other beautiful items in there that I would have purchased if I had the room in my home. If your in Kennebunkport, check this place out!
