After ordering my sandwich and coffee at the front with Candice, who was extremely pleasant, I sat at the bar and waited for my food. I ordered the ham and butter baguette sandwich, and I can honestly say it was the best baguette sandwich I've ever had in the USA. I travel to France often and absolutely love the bread there, so for me to praise a sandwich because of the bread says a lot. The coffee was also excellent and even came with beautitul latte art. The café itself was bright, welcoming, and filled with natural light. I truly enjoyed my experience and highly recommend Allez Café.

They had a few different pastery options and I ended up getting the cheddar biscuit. It was a really big biscuit but I do wish they would have offered to heat it up. The quality is very good for the price. The cheesecake is very good, especially paired with the dark chocolate. I don't typically review a Too Good To Go order because of the nature of it, but this was too good not too. I wouldn't have known about this place otherwise, but I'm sure glad I found it! I stood in line and patiently waited until I got to the front. When I did, I was rewarded with possibly THE GREATEST SALTED PRETZEL OF MY LIFE. The only other one I can think of that comes close is Miller's Twist in Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. This pretzel was literally fresh out of the oven. The lady took the little pans/trays out of the oven, put the pretzel on the rack for like 10 seconds, and then boxed it up and handed it over to me. Damn near burned my hand by trying to take it out to take a picture lol. One bite in, and I knew this was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. It was salty, buttery, chewy, crispy. A perfect soft pretzel. I definitely should have bought more than one. By themselves, I could have probably ate 5-6 of them, no joke. This thing was perfect! Will be dreaming about this one for awhile!

Rune has potential, but needs to change locations…read more Love that Rune is so focused on healthy ingredients! Because of that, I was excited to try them as an afternoon pick me up. The store is sparse, and does not feel welcoming. Inquired about their GF desserts that look amazing on their website, they were already out for the day. :( This process of the girl asking (what I assume is) the owner about the GF brownie felt like it took a lot longer than it should, for a store with only 1 customer, me. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk, and though it is listed it contains vanilla and maple syrup, I really couldn't detect them. Awesome it is organic matcha though! There was an interaction I observed that makes 2 things apparent: 1. Rune is known for moving at a slow/snail's/unacceptable pace when it comes to fulfilling food orders in particular, maybe even orders in general. 2. The people that work at Rune do not match/fit in with the people of Mariemont. The best part of this trip to Rune was discovering they carry a bevy of St. Steve's drinks! I am familiar with the company from Holland Farmers Market, in Holland, MI. I would recommend trying it! So, would I return to Rune? Hmm. The service was disappointing, at home I make a better matcha. If I was in the area again, I'd pick up a St. Steve's drink though! :)
