I went from a casual browse to a loyal customer. Since the first visit, I have purchased some art, a new dress, and awesome jewelry here. The owner make jewelry and also looks for items locally made- which I appreciate. When I was talking to her about fit, she was able to point me in the directions of pieces that would flatter my shape and skin tone. She is phenomenal and I would recommend visiting her shop for any occasion. Great taste! There is always a sale rack out front :)

While recently in Hickory I stumbled upon this little gem of a store. Margaret, the owner, not only…read moretook time to help me find exactly what I was looking for but she wasn't pushy or aggressive (two of my biggest pet peeves with sales people). This store has everything! The clothes are wonderful (there is something there for everyone), the jewelry (mostly handmade by Margaret herself or local designers) is divine and the store itself makes you feel comfortable and at home, as does Margaret. This is absolutely a must if you live in or are planning on being in Hickory anytime soon! PS - even if you aren't in the mood for shopping stop in, the store is decorated unlike anything I've seen and Margaret says she holds craft classes (Scissor Sisters is the name of her craft group) weekly AND on Saturdays has Mimosas or sodas to sip while you look around the store...Can't say enough good things about this place I wish there was a store like this is my neighborhood.

I live in Massachusetts but I called down to the store in NC & spoke with a man named Tracy. I asked, just to be completely sure that this was the jacket I was looking for, if he could text me a picture of it, which he immediately did. I will tell you that the level of accommodation was inspiring because these days nobody provides customer service like an old brick and mortar store and I was really impressed and grateful that he spent a few minutes with me, made sure that it was what I wanted, and even discussed which size to get after I described my size, etc. He said the jacket would ship that day and I got it in two days and it's beautiful and fits perfectly. I just wanted to leave this review to let people know what a wonderful experience it was working with this store and with Tracy. Thank you to Benjamin's in Morganton, North Carolina. Not sure where in NC that is but if I'm ever in North Carolina I will be sure to stop in and meet these nice people and do some more shopping at such a great store with good old fashioned service!

I had an amazing morning trying on dresses at Jillian's today! Jenna, my consultant, was super…read moresweet and helped make the experience even that much more special! And I DID say yes to a dress! My recommendation for any bride who wants to go here would be to check out the website and to read some other reviews to know what to expect when you arrive, and you will have a much better experience. It seems most of the bad reviews are either based on things that are blatantly stated on their website or about Vito himself. He does have a strong personality so be prepared for that, but he was very kind and respectful the whole time I was there. They open at 9am, but will let you in early! If you don't want to have to wait for other brides to finish, go around 8:20-8:30 to be the first ones in. There is a small fee to try on dresses which is stated on their website, but it does go to towards the price of the dress you buy, so it's kind of like a deposit for their time in my opinion. I work in an industry where deposits are the norm so this didn't feel weird to me, especially because it is stated ahead of time. When you arrive- they will measure your waist. This is also stated on their website, AND there is a sign in the lobby that says you can ask to be measured in the back if you wish. Vito also asked if I would be okay with him measuring my waist in the lobby, which I was completely fine with. *He does not say your measurements out loud* He sees what size you are and assigns you a color hanger/section of the store to look for dresses in. I felt like this was very body positive and inclusive and it made me feel confident choosing dresses because I knew they would fit me well. They do ask that you keep your time there to an hour so don't plan to spend your whole afternoon there. It's such a busy place that this is also just out of respect for other brides coming in so they can try on dresses too. Their process of pulling dresses onto a clothes rack for you and taking them all to the dressing room at once is very efficient so it helps the time constraint. I tried on 3 times the amount of dresses than I tried at David's bridal in the same amount of time without feeling rushed. I think going to a store like David's bridal first helped me realize what a great experience I had at Jillian's. Davids didn't even pull the correct dresses I asked for and I didn't feel like I received one on one attention with my consultant like I did at Jillian's. I also felt like their dresses were MUCH better quality than anything I tried at David's. In the end- I had an amazing time, I felt like their dress were beautiful and high end, they had a VERY large selection, and they even thought of the little details that make a day like this even more special. They offer complimentary snacks and drinks, they have blingy belts and beautiful veils you can try on, and they cheer you on, celebrate you, and ring bells when you say yes to the dress! Today made me really feel like a bride and I can't stop smiling at how in love I am with my dress!

I enjoy shopping for secondhand clothes, and was glad to have found Amy's Closet. Their clothing…read moreis all donated, and proceeds benefit victims of domestic violence. They are also staffed by volunteers. If those aren't reasons to check out this store, the greatest advantage is how neatly everything is organized in racks by size. Some items are steamed for better presentation. They even have several racks of boutique clothing (that is, higher-end brands, like NYDJ, CAbi, Joe's Jeans, and Banana Republic), as well as purses, shoes, activewear, and a few housewares. If you like LuLaRoe, they have a rack of $1 items. Unlike many secondhand stores which have removed their fitting rooms, Amy's Closet has three small ones in the back of the store. Yay! Watch your step exiting, however, as the rooms are surrounded by metal frames, and I tripped a couple of times. Ha ha. I went on a Wednesday, and they were offering boutique items at 25% off, and buy-one-get-one-free for all non-boutique items. I'm not sure if these discounts are offered weekly, or if they are just trying to clear out some inventory. For example, a dressy Banana Republic (boutique) blouse and a pair of NYDJ jeans were priced at $13 each, and some CAbi jeans were $18. I found some non-boutique pants and jeans for $6 each, so their prices are great, if you can find something you like. They take ApplePay, too! Note they have moved a couple of miles north from their previous location (in the Brother's Bagels shopping center). I'd never visited the previous location, but this one is very nice, with plenty of parking. I'll definitely bring my nicer donations to the store, as well as shop for myself in the near future. It's a great find!

Midday I noticed the material on the left leg was shriveled. I left the office and went to Britique and spoke to the woman who was there. I asked if she could order a replacement and return mine as damaged. No. I asked if they could be returned for store credit. No - not since they'd been worn. She suggested I go to the alteration place next to Brooklyn Boys. Umm no. This isn't an alteration issue. It's a quality issue. This was the first time I'd been to Britique and I spent $151.
