DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE SCAMMERS Incredibly disappointed with this dance shop. I went in with my son in early June to purchase jazz dance shoes. The staff members were nice, yet very dismissive--spent time sizing him, etc. The clerk LIED to me and said they had a different sizing guide that's close to European sizing, which I understand having shopped there and the UK for shoes myself. I wanted, and clearly stated, that we needed the shoes to last 6 months. I wanted to buy a youth size 1, but was LIED to again that the shoe would stretch. I was sold a child size 12. My son grew out of the shoe 6 weeks into an 8 week ballet class. I spent $57 on what I thought would be a quality pair of dance shoes. I also bought multiple pairs of dance shorts and shirts. We tried calling and left several messages with no response. Terrible business practices. This is not how you treat customers. I do not recommend this business to any local dance moms or performers that frequently come through the area looking for quality dance wear. For all of your dancing needs, this place has it. It is a small shop compared to some of the other stores around town and the hours are limited. Pricing is $$-$$$$ depending on what you are looking for. My daughter's feet are very slim so I came here specifically looking for shoes that would fit her very slim feet. However, I didn't find what I needed. They did try and help so that was helpful. They do have sales so I would be on the lookout for that if that's your type of thing to do. I tried going to their big sale this year and I was overwhelmed by all of the things to look through so I decided to not do it. In the end, if you need something for dance and can't wait, this is your place to go to. read more

I was disappointed with my experience at this store. I called ahead to ask for some pink transitional tights for my daughter's upcoming ballet recital and was told they had them in stock. I went to the store and again repeated what I needed. I also got a leotard for her. Unfortunately the assistant gave me the wrong color tights and I didn't notice until I left the store because a customer was talking to me as I paid. I immediately emailed the store to ask if I could stop by to exchange the tights for the correct color as they had not been opened or worn. I was informed there are no exchanges on tights once they leave the store. Even though the store was partly to blame for this happening, they would not agree to an exchange and quoted the Nevada health code as a reason for this policy. However, when pressed, they could not give me any specific information about which part of the code says that tights cannot be returned. Many other stores in Nevada accept returns and exchanges of unworn garments including tights and underwear so it seems that in this instance it is just down to the store owner's discretion more than anything else. I have to therefore assume The Dance Shoppe would rather lose all of a customer's future business over a $15 pair of tights. read more

So disappointed with this place. I went in with my daughter on June 15 to order some dance shoes. The staff members were lovely--spent time sizing her, etc. It was a Thursday, and she said she would order the shoes on Monday, to arrive by the following Friday. Three weeks later, after hearing nothing, I called the store. Whoever answered the phone took down my info and told me the owner would call me back two days later, when she was back in town. No return call. A few days after the return call was supposed to happen, I call back. Whoever answered the phone said there was some issue with their credit card, which they were working out. They told me the owner would call me back by this past Saturday. I'm writing this after business hours on Wednesday and guess what--still not a peep from the owner. So more than a month later, still no shoes and absolutely no substantive communication. Guess they don't really want the business. read more

So annoying when small businesses don't have small business courtesy. I called 3x confirming a dance shoe i needed for my daughter. I was sent to voicemail. I arrived at 6:02 as your hours online show 7pm closing. The young girl at the door said she "already closed the drawer" and i have to say her customer service was one of the worst i've experienced with her attitude. Hunnie Bunnie's feeeets are growwwwwwwwwing! New dance shoes needed: PRONTO! We walked in on a Thursday evening and I told the lady what we needed, new ballet and new tap dance shoes. She grabbed some boxes and was very patient with HB and helped her try on several different sizes til we were satisfied and we were on our merry ways! Very sweet and attentive staff. They have a good variety of tights. As a cocktail waitress who has to wear tights as part of my uniform, I love the Danskin compression tights. I rip holes in and go through so many of the regular nylons. These last me for months! They're a thicker material. The dance shoppe is conveniently located right next door to studio one so that right there is a huge plus for me! I brought my daughter in to get fitted for her first ballet and tap shoes. The employee was amazingly friendly and helped anyway she could. She brought out some shoes and told me how they like to give some extra room so that we won't be buying shoes every month. How nice is that?! Goes to show that they're not all about money! She also directed to me the tights that were on sale! I also bought some leotards and tutus, but these items were not on sale. It's ok though because the prices were pretty decent. Leotards can run from $13 to $27 (some may be a bit higher) but it truly depends on the style you pick out. If you have a boy who is interested in dancing, don't bother coming here. I was told to ask about the bundle but apparently saving money only applies for parents of girls, while little boys are discriminated against. The bundle does not apply to boys who need dancing shoes or clothes. Boys who enjoy dancing are out of luck. Spend your money elsewhere. read more
