Once Upon a Child in Henderson is seriously a gem! This past weekend was my second time visiting,…read moreand I'm already a big fan of this place.
I brought in a large basket of clothes my son had outgrown, along with a box of about a dozen pairs of shoes he no longer fit. Unfortunately, I came on a Saturday around 11 AM, and it was SUPER busy. I was told the wait could be a couple of hours, which was fine, so my family and I decided to grab lunch and do something fun while we waited. However, around 2 PM, my items still weren't ready, and they didn't finish until a little after 3 PM. I had to be at work by 4 PM, so I was cutting it close!
That said, I want to give these ladies their credit because they were WORKING HARD! They were sorting through loads of clothes and baby items, and you can tell there's a lot that goes into the process. They usually require you to pick up your items the same day, but I explained my situation, and they were super accommodating and let me come back the next day. I really appreciated that!
I also love how organized their system is. They tag your items, scan your ID, and send you text updates as your items are being processed. It makes the whole process easy to follow, even when they're busy.
Now, let's talk about the FUN part: SHOPPING! This store has so much great stuff, including big-name brands for a fraction of retail prices. Most items are gently used, and honestly, when you have a little one who outgrows everything in what feels like five minutes, I don't mind buying secondhand at all!
Even though this store is about 30 minutes from my house, I keep coming back because I've found some amazing gems for my son. My favorite part is being able to bring in the things he's outgrown each season and use that money toward a whole new wardrobe without spending much, if anything, out of pocket!
This time, I received $69 for all my items, which I thought was a great deal, especially considering those clothes and shoes would probably have just been collecting dust in my garage. I picked up some warmer clothes my son needed and STILL walked out with a little over $20 in cash. Talk about a win-win!
My recommendation is to try visiting during the weekdays if you can, since Saturdays can get extremely busy. But even with the long wait, the ladies were great, and I appreciate what this store offers to parents trying to save money.
And they have so much more than just clothes! You can find shoes, toys, books, baby carriers, strollers, and so much more. As parents, we all know how expensive it gets buying things our kids outgrow so quickly, so stores like this are such a blessing.
