Only 4 regional competitions are required when you are in a "competative dance company," which is totally optional and not a requirement for kids who want to take recreational classes. The directors are making sure everyone puts in the time and dedication required to improve and reach their full potential as dancers. They want to ensure that the company members are committed and pushing themselves to be the best dancers they can be. My daughter has been dancing since she was 14 months old. She is now 3 years old and LOVES going to dance class twice a week. The instructors are experienced, talented, loving, and inclusive. Most teachers are also alumni, which shows their level of commitment. Ms. Linda, Ms. Sandee, and Ms. Sheri go above and beyond for every student. The older students who assist the recreation classes are caring and offer one-on-one attention to every student. By the way, this studio is not a "competition factory." . They only competed in 4 regional competitions this year. Anyone who has watched the show "Dance Moms" knows what a "competition factory" looks like. This studio is in its 67th year of business. and started from humble beginnings. Their generosity makes families who cannot afford dance lessons possible. They even established a non-profit "The Juliano Initiative " to assist students with tuition and competition fees. As a child whose parents couldn't afford dance lessons, I appreciate their goal to offer the art of dance to all socioeconomic backgrounds. I support The Dance Connection without reservation. Signed my son up for Boys Dance Crew, last season not knowing what to expect. From the moment we stepped in the studio we were greeted and treated with such a warm welcome by the owner instantly calming nerves. After the class my son came out with the biggest smile. Watching him perform on stage in his recital was nothing I ever could have imagined. They were incredible and for children who just started I was amazed at not only their skill but the comfort and confidence they felt up on that stage.
