His name is Taki Tanaka, and he's a master at crafting any coffee you might desire. He can be currently found at the very unique space combining dance and drinking coffee, Garage Dance Studio & Coffee Lounge. While the dance studio and the coffee lounge share the same space, they don't share the same hours of operation. I was here a few months ago, to find the coffee portion in the dark and the dance floor in full bloom! I came again yesterday afternoon, to find the opposite. This time the coffee lounge was open, and no one was on the dance floor. The inside is set to look like you're in somewhere in Madrid amongst the colorful buildings, where the tables are all adorned with red tablecloths. Of course, the barista working was Taki Tanaka. We chatted briefly and he made me the most delightful Honey Fig Latte. It was creamy, foamy, with a beautiful rose art design he hand poured himself. This was mildly sweet, rich in coffee, utterly satisfying with each sip. I just wish there was dance to see.

There is also a dance studio located inside the coffee shop. They offer dance lessons, and the inside, from the dance clothes to the others hanging from the window, gives off a Latin vibe.

There are classes 6 days a week (maybe even 7, I'm not sure), and they just opened up a bigger and better studio to accommodate more people. Classes with Melissa on Fridays also whoop my a$$ in gear! Kayt has an awesome team of instructors, she should be proud of such an awesome studio that welcomes all levels of abilty and really helps make all women feel sexy in their skin! Neither of them were particularly good dancers, but after one short lesson with Laurent, they were able to put on quite a show at their wedding!!! I was actually stunned how Laurent was able to teach them so much in so little time! He also helped me and the bride's father with our dances with our children, too! Laurent was pleasant, professional and a joy to work with! We all had a ball and he even helped us with our freestyle moves when we had a dance party at the end of the lesson. Although I enjoy a variety of instructor styles, I can still be very choosy with classes and studios. I LOVE STUDIO Z. I live in Dallas but was visiting family in Branford for the week and wanted to enjoy some home made Italian food without adding inches to my waistline. I found Studio Z online and decided to give it a try. Their website clearly states prices and class times, so I went in on a Monday to buy a block of 4 classes for $35. I was greeted by Danielle, the owner and her lovely mother and little girl. They were very welcoming and asked if I was new to Zumba. This question is one of the most important things to ask new comers and although I've been doing Zumba a while now, I really appreciated that they asked. The studio is large, clean, colorful and there is a platform for the instructors to stand on, which is a big bonus. There are cubbies to put your things in during class time. I only took Danielle and Nili's AM classes and I really enjoyed both instructors. Each brought a different take on Zumba, but they both kept the integrity of a Zumba class' components. I recommend that if you're new to Zumba that you take a class in the morning since they are less crowded and there are a lot of people on different levels. It will take a few classes to get used to it, but stick with it and ask questions! The instructors also offer modifications to either lower or up the intensity. Toning sticks, mats, and all the fixins' are provided if you don't have them so just bring yourself and have fun. Don't be intimidated by other people in the class because they were once new too and I found most people in the class to be very nice. The monthly unlimited is a bargain, I would totally go to this studio if I lived here!!! Next time I visit, I will be back to studio z!

The choreography isn't challenging, appropriate for intermediate level. They do offer the occasional master class. Some fans are placed to help you breathe. I wish parking were more plentiful and not as restricted; the wrong spot can get you towed or the business fined. I also enjoy how they participate in local events and charities.
