You know, when you're in the middle of nowhere and you're fishing, and you need fishing gear, you…read morewould be hard-pressed to not spend absurd amounts of money from a guy named Tim on the side of the road. Luckily, old Tim's fly shop doesn't gouge people like most destination locations of accessory. What does occur however is an overwhelming unease of walking through a man's house and he calls a fly shop. This place has a lot of things, and let's be honest, you're only going into the fly shop to buy flies mostly. I'll just break the tension right now: it seems like, though I'm not sure, Tim makes these flies with melted lead in some cheap fabric or feather material between taking people's money. He has a ton of these flies, and they're not the highest of quality. I was excited to visit this place because I thought I was going to encounter fishing excellence. There's a lot more of a Deliverance feeling than I was expecting. I bought quite a few of his wares, though none of them do much avail. But what are you going to do when you lose your last tippet or the flies you tied just aren't cutting it? You go to the guy down the street that happens to have an ample selection which he does. It's just, the things he makes are rough. Though don't get me wrong, when you get your license from the park service, there selection of flies and equipment looks like they purchased it from the Chinese New Year catalog. This might be typical for destination fishing locations, I'm not sure yet. But I was looking for quality items from a fly fishing shop next to a stream filled with trout, and what I found instead was a shop just this side of selling crystal figurines. But don't get me wrong, they have a lot of flies and pretty much any gear you would need for capturing trout at just above a reasonable price. What are you going to do? Nothing. Pay the man.

Good advice from the owner. What's working and what he caught 80 fish on that morning. Well stocked…read morestores with high quality gear.

This store was great! They had a great selection of pretty much every item for good value. Last year, I got some running shoes for a very good deal. They ended up being great running shoes too! The service here was really good. All of the employees here were very nice and helpful. The inside was very clean. It was also pretty cool. There was a fish tank and a Ferris Wheel. Overall, great store and I highly recommend it!
