This place is the real deal. I tried about 3 different busters to fix my rear sensor and this was the first place that knew what to do. I wish I'd have come here first. Trent is the coolest guy, goes out of his way to help you. And the cars you see in there are an extra treat, it's like being at a car show! read more

Brett and his team are amazing ! I finally found a shop that loves what they do! Brett sits with you and explains everything in full detail, he talks with you not at you ! I had purchased an Spod/Bantam Pod (gang switch ) for all my lights and train horn, it was not installed correctly, I brought my truck to Brett and his team and they sorted it all out. They worked on my truck for close to 11 hours, typically they close at 6pm however they stayed late to finish the job, and didn't rush anything. They have a great shop, if you can't leave your truck/car they have a couch which is very inviting. I have nothing but good things to say about, The Custom Shop ! By the way, I travel an hour in each direction and very happy to do so, because I know the work is Quality and done with love. Thanks Brett !!! read more

The Custom Shop - Jeep Wrangler JL '19 - Auto Customization Near Me - New York, New York

Found this shop on Google when looking to install an aftermarket steering wheel. Brett was so chill to talk to and he said no problem. Since then, I've joined several of the driving events he's put on and I'm now happily a part of the cult that is the Custom Shop's following. Now, I never have to worry about where to go for installs and for advice on mods. Brett is the real deal, with tons of experience with modifying trucks and sports cars. AND he's an enthusiast first and foremost, so he is just as passionate as you are about getting your car to perform at the level you want. Anan is also an amazing mechanic while being so personable. If I can help it, I won't take my car anywhere else! read more

The Custom Shop Team are awesome! From their social media channels, I saw that they worked on a Giulia before and that led me to go with the team for my project. More specifically, an installation of an aftermarket exhaust, refinishing the rims of my car, and installing better tyres for my car. Everything was done promptly. Very much appreciative of the communication, enthusiasm, and professionalism demonstrated by the crew. I'll be coming back for any future projects if I'm not able to do the installations myself, haha! read more

The Custom Shop was the first place I went to when I wanted to make my Subaru more off-road capable. I don't know where to start. These guys are absolutely outstanding. I read some reviews on here, when I was thinking about lifting my wrangler, and they all seem on point. As a woman, I was intimidated going to a shop to get my truck lifted and worried I'd feel 1) uncomfortable and 2) taken advantage of. Well, that was as far from what I got when I walked into The Custom Shop for the first time. Brett was behind the counter and introduced himself. He was super positive, sounded eager, but also extremely laid back and very patient. I went in there knowing all the parts I wanted ahead of time, and he helped me build my jeep and found the best prices and we ordered the stuff together. He never tried to sway me one way or another, or tried to do stuff that would be easier and more profitable for him. He let me have free rage and was up to install anything I ordered. The prices for labor are the best. The techs are just as awesome as Brett, as is his co-owner. They let me bring my dog, Baron, and let me wrench on my Jeep, so I could have a good idea of what was going on, in case something broke while on the trails. It's the kind of place you will go back to for continued work. You leave feeling great and without feeling like you were taken advantage of. Their laid back atmosphere by no means implies they are slow. While they ARE methodical, my lift, wheels, tires, bumpers, and paint/powder coating was done super quickly. When the lift arrived, it was on the same day. I can't say enough about this place. You guys are awesome. I can't wait for stage two, when we work on the performance on the jeep (His name is Wiley). read more

Great customer service and quality every time you visit. Professional service at your convenience.

BEST IN NEW YORK! A fantastic shop that should be the number one choice for any car enthusiast. Amazing management from Brett who worked with my tight schedule to make it as convenient as possible, and also walked me through my options to make my car even better that I had planned. Work was done quickly and everyone in the shop was so friendly, such a nice little neighborhood spot to enjoy passing time and have a chat amongst other gear heads. They have an endless number of different services that they offer and for very aggresive and honest prices too. I trust them 100% with my most prized posession. After going here there will be no other shops I look for in the future. Also a huge thanks to Anand who has my charger's exhaust sounding even better than imagined. Will be bringing all of my future business and friends here as well. Don't look anywhere else! read more

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about the Custom Shop and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves Jeeps! They were highly recommended by everyone I spoke to about getting work done on my Jeep. From the first phone call I knew I could trust them with my Jeep and it would be in good hands ( This is coming from someone who has never in five years even brought it to a car wash because I wouldn't let anyone else drive it haha!) When I went to the shop to discuss my vision I met with Brett. He took me seriously and he never discouraged me from any of my ideas, even when I threw in "can we paint it pink" . The whole shop is so clean, everyone is so unbelievably nice and just want to make my vision turn to reality. I still cannot believe this is my Jeep! I waited and saved for five years to do this , and it was so worth the wait ! Thank you Brett and everyone at the Custom Shop! I will be back ! read more

What a great experience here. These guys are the real deal. I worked closely with Shawn on getting 35 inch tires and a 2.5" lift for my new Jeep Wrangler. Shopping under his advice was zero pressure, educational and just very chill. You can tell it's a great group of guys that work here and love what they do. Their operation is trustworthy and skilled. If your getting custom work done and you are in the tri-state area, these are the guys you want to go to. Brett, the owner, maintains a very "zen-like" personality and shop. He's got great ideas in customizing my Jeep, and I can't wait to build enough money and do more jobs in the car. If you're considering getting custom work done to a car of yours, I definitely recommend you stop by the custom shop and speak with this crew. Thank you Shawn, Brett, and the rest of the guys who worked on the car. read more

I visited this shop a while ago to install coilovers and wheel spacers. I also had my calipers painted here. Work done on car was fine but left bitter taste in mouth when received notice in mail about an unpaid parking ticket in the mail. The morning I arrived for scheduled appt and pulled into garage, there were cars parked ahead of mine that had to be backed out of the shop. I was forced to vacate and parked across the street in front of a hydrant. As I was leaving after discussing work to be performed, I pointed to my car out front and left keys on counter with Shawn. Additionally, I spoke to Shawn over the phone soon after leaving the shop to discuss adding on to work originally requested, to which he had to walk out to the car and examine the car to provide an accurate quote. I think everyone that has dropped off a car at any shop would agree that once you hand over the keys, the shop is responsible for the car until picked up by owner. Strangely, there was also no evidence of a ticket left on windshield or mention when I picked up the car later that day. I stopped by to speak to Brett (owner) about the incident to which he took zero responsibility and allocated all blame to me for parking in front of a hydrant when I dropped off the car. This is honestly the last thing I would expect after dropping off a car at a shop of any caliber. Disappointed by this experience but will move on as there are bigger problems in the world. read more

A shop worth going too. The guys at The Custom Shop are very welcoming and experienced at what they do: and will ensure that your car is handled with car as if it was their own. About time I give these guys a review. They've worked on my Audi S4 since the get-go. It started with a simple tint job and chrome delete about 2 years ago. I was so happy with the workmanship of the tint job I came to them again almost a year later and they remembered me. Now that's customer service! We eventually hit it off and I decided to use them for a full wrap job. They did a tremendous job from consultation to sending me updates throughout the week and to the final end product. Till this day it has held up really well and I get so much recognition at shows and even random strangers on the streets will run up to me and give me the thumbs up. It didn't stop there. I see how popular air suspensions were becoming and my hands got itchy but I was unfamiliar with the whole air system. I was afraid to jump at it but after multiple consultations with The Custom Shop, I handled them my keys yet again in full trust. They did an amazing job with the install and they over delivered with a showpiece of a custom trunk setup. I got to keep my spare tire and I didn't loose much of my trunk space. Now thats the best of both worlds. My car looks sick and it fits a stroller for my baby. Now I've run out of things to do to my car but I still come to the shop to kick it with the guys at the shop. They never shun me away and always welcome me like family. These guys work on everything. They will never turn you down based on the car you drive. They are lovers of all car. I've seen top of the line European cars, heavily modded Japanese imports, Mom vans, Vintage, Rusty old beat up and broken down Jeeps to crazy out of this world Wrangler JKs. So never feel intimidated when you drive by custom shop. Go in and you'll be greeted with a smile that I guarantee. read more

I've owned my 2014 Jeep JK for a year and half and got the bug to lift it. It seemed like there were no reputable 4 x 4 shops in NYC. I searched all the forums and looked all over the Internet and kept coming up empty. I finally e-mailed The Custom Shop and got a reply from Will minutes later. Will took the time to walk me through the lift process and help me sort out my options. I visited the shop and everyone was friendly and helpful and seemed to care that I make the right decision choosing the parts I was installing. Working in the automotive field I've come to expect the worst, but these guys clearly put customer service above all else. The shop installed a 2" AEV lift along with wheels and bigger tires. The work was great and every promise made was fulfilled. I would definitely recommend you check the shop out and would not hesitate to bring my car back for future mods. read more

I've been to many customs shops in NYC and by far they're the best! Their work is amazing and they go far and beyond to ensure a permanent solution. Will is my favorite (ask for him) very professional and very helpful, he "will" not just help diagnose an issue but always give multiple options which can help anyone gage and spend around their price range. To be honest all the staff are very helpful, they come from a place of your best interest and does not try to make a extra buck at your expense which is refreshing. I come here for any and all issues with my C300, it has always cost me significantly less then the competitors for again.. a permanent fix! Highly recommended! I want to start off by saying thank you to the whole crew at The Custom Shop for their great work and honesty. Anything I wanted done to my cars they made it happen professionally. The crew at The Custom Shop are friendly and honest which you can't find anymore these days. The first day I met the crew I felt so welcomed as if I knew them for years. I lease my vehicles and get detailed work done to it. I dealt with many shops in the past and non of them will ever be like The Custom Shop. The work they do is so precise and professionally done. The crew loves what they do for a living, they work on your car as if it's their own car. They take their time on your car not like any other shop out there they want u in and out just to make more money by getting the next person in. The Custom Shop will do whatever u got in mind for your car or even motorcycle. I took my 2016 Mini Cooper S and my 2016 Audi S6 I asked for work to be done on both vehicles and I couldn't find any imperfection they are on point. Next is my 2015 Harley Davidson StreetBob getting it all wrapped in matt black. As long as The Custom Shop is open I will always be a returning customer every time I get a new lease. I'm so glad I found them. Thanks to Yelp. Brett and the whole crew at The Custom Shop are friendly, honest and always give great advise and suggestions. They make customer satisfaction their number one priority. They are very meticulous and professional with their work. Regardless of what car you are driving the crew puts in their best effort to create outstanding and one of a kind result. I'll always come back, due to their unique quality of work. Brett and the crew never discriminate. They treat everyone equally and respectfully regardless of color sex or race. They are courteous, professional, and treat you like family. Worst place to go too not very reliable and do and their jobs sucks and too expensive

Brett reached out to me and offered me a full refund (actually offered to also pay for part of my install at the other place as well). As I stated before, I do believe he is a victim in all this and the tech is really the one to blame. Because of that I declined the refund but we're working something else out instead. I've heard good things about the shop since then so inclined to give them another chance to make it up. I'm changing my rating because all though I did have a bad experience, Brett will stand by his word and will do everything to make it right. You don't find that kind of honesty now. Ill update the review again after I have any work done. read more

I am not the one who used to keen on writing review. But my experience with the Custom Shop was terrible that I want to warn everything before even going there and wasting your time. I called them to get a quote for chrome delete for my vehicle. The guy, name Will, quote me 600 after I told him the year, make and model of my car and the location I need to do the chrome delete. He told me I need to bring my vehicle there to get exact measurement and also the exact pricing, which I understand. When I drove all the way from Staten Island to Queens, I asked for Will when arrived the shop. The guy there saying he was not in, but he will take care of me. After he looked at my vehicle, can you believe the price he quote ?? $ 1,800 !!!!! Well, I understand, what was quote on phone was estimate but triple the amount? When I told this guy I did speak with Will over the phone just one day before and he told me estimate of $600. This guy, who said he is the owner said "I am sorry about that. Will was one of the partner before but he left this business. It just happen yesterday he came here and he see I am busy and help me pick up the phone" If you have no authority to do the quote, why you answer the phone and just quote?? I went there because I see this shop has a good review. But with my personal real life experience, I would like to alert you and think before you go to this shop. read more
