And maybe I was sun-drunk from sitting out the front with Spring's sun rays beaming down on me, or maybe (as I suspect) after more than a year serving their eats to hungry breakfast hunters, Nana & Da's have found their groove. When I first visited, it was their first week in business and since then they've settled into their cottage cafe. I was pleased to discover they're still pouring Supreme beans and my long iced black was the best accompaniment to a hot Spring day. There's an all day breakfast and a hearty lunch menu featuring items like beef brisket and plenty of vegetables! And, if you're only in the market for elevensies, check out the cake cabinet by the counter - lemon tea cake, raspberry friands - they're all there. I opted to order from the all day breakfast menu and honed straight in one the three cheese toast with buttered asparagus. Regardless of what time of day you're eating this it isn't a large meal - more of an ample snack. It's perfect if you just want something to tide you over or you find yourself not particularly hungry but everyone else is ordering that stack of pancakes.

Customers grab a tray and tongs and proceed to help themselves to whatever will make the saliva glands stop yearning. Like many Asian breads those on there first initiation may find it a bit odd to find a sweetness across the palette, but I guarantee once you get past this you'll be a mad fan. Just by the seer amount of goods on display you can tell that their goods are in high demand. Behind the counter is the bakery where a team of experts are kneading away to satisfy the want for these goods. I don't even know what it's called but the there is a little hot dog wrapped in a puff pastry that has a sweet butter inside. I would call it a pig in a blanket but that wouldn't be doing it justice.

You grab a tray and a pair of tongs then load up as you snake through all the goodies on offer. This little corner of Windsor's Homezone complex seems to change hands often these days. It's…read morealways occupied by a cafe, but the name on the door has been changed three times in the past year or two. Nevertheless, it's a nice spot. The inside is an air-conditioned shelter from the complex's hot expanse, and the decor is modern, unassuming, and relaxing. Kafe Krave seems to offer both table or counter service, depending on what you want to do. You see a lot of people placing takeaway coffee orders at the counter and selecting a piece of cake or a salad from the cabinet, but there are also people who opt to settle in at a table and wait to be brought a menu. I found the staff to be very nice and helpful, and my pot of tea was brought promptly (I hate when restaurants let it set at the service counter until it's brewed to the point of bitterness) and with a smile. My companion enjoyed her coffee and said her piece of cake was very satisfactory. Even though Kafe Krave is the latest in a string of cafes in this spot, I hope they last because they definitely deserve to.

I have it on good authority that this is THE place that locals come for brunch on a weekend (but book a table). And the sarnies are apparently to-die-for. As is the expense, I'm sure.
