In the Catholic faith, this sacrament is profoundly meaningful, as it prepares the soul for the journey into the afterlife. For my family, it was of immense importance. When I learned my mother had passed before the scheduled time, I was devastated. While traveling to join my brother and sister-in-law, I called the church and left a message that she had already passed. To my surprise and deep relief, Father James arrived soon after my husband and I reached her room. Because her body was still warm, he was able to administer Last Rites. I will always be profoundly grateful to Father James and Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas, for this act of compassion and faith. Though I am not currently a practicing Catholic, this experience has touched me so deeply that my husband and I are considering attending Saint Joseph's. I have also decided that I wish to receive Last Rites myself when my time comes.

In 2012, I faced a significant challenge with a heart attack, but thanks to the support of the State's Medical Advisory Board, I was able to transition from a Class A with all endorsements to a Class B with just air brakes--an option that allowed me to maintain my connection to the industry I love. Fast forward to 2021, and I felt a strong calling to return to the hotshot business as an owner-operator, focusing on Class B equipment. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that I was ready to upgrade back to a Class A license. While I wasn't keen on operating Class 7 or 8 trucks, I embraced the opportunity for growth! Then, the pandemic brought about some shifts in regulations, and the FMCSA introduced new rules. Anyone looking to move up a class now needs to complete theory, road, and range training--exciting times for professional development! After a two-year search, I discovered "Texas CDL Hotshot School," which offered a comprehensive ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) program, including segments just right for fulfilling those new requirements. This past weekend was a fantastic experience! I had the privilege of learning from Greg and Nick, the knowledgeable and friendly owners and instructors at the school. During our road and range training, I was part of a small group with three students and two instructors, which created a supportive atmosphere. Day one kicked off with a deep dive into pre-trip inspections, where we gained insight into the correct sequence and necessary verbiage for testing. Day two was all about hands-on learning, focusing on essential techniques like proper backing, straight backing, and the practical behind-the-wheel skills that every driver should master. What truly stood out was how Greg and Nick made complex concepts accessible to everyone, from absolute beginners to seasoned drivers like myself. They encouraged questions and shared their expertise, creating a learning environment that was both engaging and enriching. As someone with decades of experience, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I learned! The time spent with these dedicated instructors not only refreshed my memory but also introduced me to new techniques and helped me correct some old habits we all picked up over the years. In the end, the investment of time and money as a student was absolutely worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend Texas CDL Hotshot School to newcomers eager to learn and seasoned pros looking to upgrade their licenses. Embrace the journey of learning--it pays off in so many ways!

I have been trying to be patient and give them time to get better but to no avail. They DO NOT communicate with the parents about anything! The Intermediate school does a great job at communicating but not Thelma Jones! The teachers I've met are rude and snobby, except the music teacher she is pretty amazing! The playground is pitiful. I'm thankful that this is the only year my daughter will go to this school!

During this time, we volunteered and gave to the school as much as we were able because we wanted to support the community our children were in. Beginning in September of 2025, we began to have concerns about behaviors / conversations occurring and it continued throughout the school year. We always tried to be gentle and respectful when bringing these concerns to the attention of administrators. Finally, with two weeks of school left, we made the decision to completely withdraw and cancel the re-enrollment of both of our children after our safety concerns were met with a refusal for answers, zero accountability, hostility and even pitting families against one another. I won't claim to have handled this perfectly because there was so much frustration once we started being treated poorly simply for having concerns and being denied answers from individuals who our children were under the care of for 30+ hours per week. I explained many times that I did not expect personal information of any student, I just wanted clarification on policies, what behaviors would or would not be allowed, and how similar situations would be handled in the future. As a Christian Private School - which MPS claims to be - with so many children under their care, they are absolutely held to a higher standard and should be able to have hard conversations, be accountable, professional and respectful to ALL families - especially when it comes to the safety of their children. The repeated phrase of admin was that how we feel is not their responsibility and if we don't like it we can withdraw - which is exactly what we did. Added for perspective - I want to draw your attention to the laugh reactions on our reviews. These are from a current teacher at MPS (admin's mother) and the BIBLE teacher at MPS (admin's husband) - neither of which were involved with any of our communications. Sadly, it just continues to prove our point. If at the time you are ready this they are no longer there, it may be because they realized as much.

Our son was accepted to a Christian school where we will be living and and he'll be entering at the top half of his class which speaks volumes to MPS and his teacher, Mrs. Howard. His new school was very impressed with his assessment saying it was rare for a child to come in mid-year knowing what he knows. I'm so thankful for MPS and the love that's been poured into our son and his education. We weren't just seeking education for him when we found MPS. We wanted him to have the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and make a positive impact wherever he went - somewhere he could further his character and deepen his faith. Additionally, we wanted someone who would invest in nurturing his little soul with Christian values and MPS, Mrs. Howard, and the rest of the MPS staff have delivered 100%.
