Had the roasted veggie bowl and a veggie pizza. Both were fresh and amazing! One of the best meals we've had to date in New Zealand. Service was friendly and attentive and prices were very reasonable. Great atmosphere and located right across from an amazing sandy beach. Parking easy. Situated across from Waipu Beach/Cove, this is an excellent place to dine. Service is friendly and quick. I was debating between the Margherita pizza or spinach falafel burger with fries. I am an aspiring vegan or at least trying to be more eco-friendly given the climate change and the horrible direction our environment is going. I used to eat meat but not anymore. I imagine the other items are tasty too. The waitress highly recommended the spinach burger, so I opted for that. It definitely did not disappoint! It was actually the best (and first) spinach falafel burger I've had in my life. And for you lactose-intolerant folks, the yogurt is non-dairy! Everything was fused in perfectly from the sauces, to the tomato, lettuce, and pickles. I don't think I put the burger down, it was that good. The bread was nicely grilled too. Fried were very crispy and tasty. I'd definitely eat here again if I'm in the area. I'm visiting from California and LOVE food. They also have a cafe bar with lots of delicious-looking desserts next door too. Didn't get to try tho, the burger and fries filled me up. Plus it's an open seating area with nice views of the beach. A very good mix of food, lots of choices, a nice spot by the beach and a relaxed atmosphere. I would note that on public holidays or the summer period that a reservation is key and an early dinner may be the way to to, as we've previously had (understandable) issues when the staff are run off their feet getting served. read more

the sitting not nice you are sitting outside which is horrible in the winter the seats are wood they gave my kids ass a splinter considering they grow their own vegetables they don't give you many and they use the same gravy on every thing and their is nothing really interesting on the menu and the vegetables have a gritty texture and taste like DIRT!!, so they are poo poo bum faces. read more

My wife, father and I ate here a few times while on vacation to the area recently. To start, the area is quaint but with great beach access and a fun vibe. Everything we tried on the menu was great tasting and very fresh. They've got a fun bar to sit at and drink a draft beer or one of their daily cocktail concoctions from the bartender. The large deck is inviting and a perfect place to sit back and relax. If you're in the area it's a must stop. read more

An amazing little spot for coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Stunning food and a beautiful view.

This is a classic example of the kiwi 'coffee' experience. Where a restaurant offers coffee and tea, but doesn't really give any care or service to it. I stopped here with a family member for a coffee and treat at lunch time, and is was fairly empty. It is a lovely location and they offer a huge patio for you to sit and look towards the water, although you can't really see it! I ordered a flat white and two muffins, as well as a tea, was offered a tea from their selection of Keri Keri teas from the girl at the register. The waitress brought the tea first, which was instead Dilmah. When I asked her about it, she didn't really respond, just said she would take it back. She came back a few minutes later and said they didn't have Keri Keri, which is what was advertised and offered. So we opted for the Dilmah, however, the cup provided was dirty, and the milk jug (with milk in it) was also dirty, with black specs in it. Someone else brought the coffee and muffins, and neither server was friendly. My muffin also wasn't cooked through all the way, and while the coffee tasted alright, the milk was luke warm. $18 for two muffins and two drinks, with poor service and dirty dishes is not OK. And although I've heard good things about the food, I am inclined not to go back due to this experience. read more
