We are so grateful for the care our mom received at Courtyards at Pasadena. She was transferred here from the hospital for rehabilitation and respiratory care, and our experience has been wonderful. The entire team - nurses, staff, and support personnel were all amazing. The food was great and the facility is comfortable and well maintained, which made her stay comfortable. In particular, Jessica, Michelle, Maria, Princes and Key xoxo and all the nurse staff provided exceptional care and kindness around the clock care. The physical therapists, Miss Elizabeth and Albert, were outstanding. They gave our mom the encouragement and support she needed to regain strength and independence. While she's taking small steps, we can already see her progress, and we're so grateful for their patience and guidance. No nursing facility is perfect, but I have to admit my experience with "The Courtyards" was very pleasant. The nurses I had were respectful, sweet, patient, and good at their jobs. The CNA's were helpful, busy, quick to respond, and easy to talk to. The OT and PT's were friendly, experienced, encouraging and skilled. The kitchen staff served hot, tasty balanced meals and would ask me what I would prefer. I felt more at ease and cared for at this facility than I did at the more expensive and higher rated one I had the previous year. It may be a little bit dated, but it is clean and the employees more than make up for any lack in newness. I especially appreciated how well the employees worked together without complaints, arguments, or gossiping in front of residents. If I could leave a zero-star review, I would. Let's start with how they treat their workers: they are very rude, overworked, and understaffed. This facility should be shut down completely. They do not wash their hands, they don't wear masks, and they hire literally anyone with a CNA license. The staff literally sleeps while call lights are ringing, and they do not change the patients. My heart was so broken to be considered an employee there. I will also be reporting to the CDC about how the food looks just like jail food. I do not recommend this place. Whenever the staff knows family is coming to visit, they put on a front. This place is HORRIBLE. I could go on and on. Do not send your loved ones here. Not to mention how the residents fall out of bed ! They even had residents outside unaccounted for so I quit ! read more

An absolute toilet. I showed up unexpected on Christmas day to find my mother laying in her own feces, dead skin all over the floor, covered in scabies, food rotting on her table. I pulled her out the next day and had her treated. Thank god my mother didnt have to suffer another day in that pit. Watched her 6 pm med nurse come in a 9 pm and leave my mother meds on the table and walk out. Mom dropped one pill on the floor and another in diaper. None of her belongings were out, no remote for the TV. Literally in a room with nothing. Vultures even had the nerve to charge my credit card after I pulled her out. If you love your parent, run away from this place as quick as you can!!!!! read more

Neglected loved one and she "fell out of bed" even though she cannot move due to stroke, now has injuries.. Suspicious employees that are neglectful and i found loved one covered in feces and never cleaned up. They lost her belongings and still have not found them, she has been there 6 months, the worst place to care for the one you love. read more

First 2 months was fine. After that lots of the good employees quit and place went down hill fast. My loved ones teeth were never brushed. Face never washed in morning. Eyes would be matted but no one would clean them. Got a bed sore. Lay in wet diaper. Food sucked. I can go on and on. read more

I am a Medical Social Worker in the Houston area. I have worked at several of the larger area hospitals and you learn quickly which nursing and rehab facilities are good and which are not. I have been sending patients to The Courtyards for years because the level and quality of care has remained consistently high. This is a nursing facility I would feel quite comfortable sending my own family member to. read more

It was a good break for my Mom. Staff was pleasant! Only negative thing, is that the Nurses/LVNs did not follow medication instructions. Lucky, my mom was only there for 5 days or who knows what could of happened. read more

Upon admission, everyone is very pleasant and helpful. Downhill from there. Baths not given on days designated by them (once went an entire week without a bath or change of clothes), food barely tolerable, no meat or protein served, meal served while patient asleep, so woke up to cold meal, therapy very limited to about 30 min. a day, but repeatedly stated they were a rehab facility. Once insurance coverage expires, they discharge you to go home asap. Even though more therapy obviously needed, won't recommend transfer to a rehab facility. No feedback at all from staff regarding status or progress of patient. Would not recommend this place. read more

This place is not the one to go to, I am the daughter of a former resident that lived at The Courtyards of Pasadena. This place puts on a nice facade and sweet faces and kind LVN/RN and the severly underpaid and over worked CNAs. When you get down to business of this place, so to speak, that's when the trickery begins. People seem nice and caring and seem to know what the heck they are doing and pretend to listen to the residents and their family members, then when they walk away that's when the disrespect comes into play. You dare step out against the abuse you have witnessed and tell someone you are the one that gets the door. I have personally seen, a residents room so un clean and messy, roaches were crawling in their food space, uren stained bed pads that my family members room mate had been sitting in for hours, CNAs sitting in rooms doing nothing and waiting to do their "rounds" at a time that would only leave you with no more than 20 minuets. Things like these are seemingly small, but not to the residents that have been sitting in their own poop and pee. read more

Our family chose The Courtyards of Pasadena because it was clean and the staff was extremely caring and helpful from the administrator all the way to the caregivers and therapists. We have no complaints and we looked at several facilities in the area. read more
