Caregivers were very professional, kind, and tolerant with my mother who suffered from dementia with behavioral issues. If there was a staffing shortage, it never affected us. We have dealt with Home Instead caring for an aunt in another city, and there are always call outs, leaving us to scramble to get someone to supervise her. We never had that problem with Sheila's Angels. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Who asks someone they just met (NOT the patient, but a younger relative of the patient) "Oh, do you suffer from dementia?" - does he even realize how rude that is? He must have overheard someone mention that patients with dementia are commonly put on a ketogenic diet, but he didn't research it any further. Diabetes patients (he's also diabetic) and people with celiac disease, among others, also eliminate gluten out of their diets. It has NOTHING to do with dementia! Maybe he needs to take a course on How to Win Friends and Influence People, OR just keep his mouth shut!

My father lives in Houston from Minneapolis where he had quality care and I had no clue what to expect but he had no choice but to live in Houston. Now I have to help out and I had no clue where to call or what to do because I'm not from there but I know his health was declining and his emotional and mental state was going right with it. My aunt can't help anymore with my fathers health she feels he need around the clock care so she called me and told me about a place she saw at an informational called insignia and she just gathered the info so I can call and it's a free consultation. Well I called without reading anything because I was desperate. My goodness I spoke with this amazing woman and she calmed every nerve I had and told me about the difference in the help I'm asking for vs what I needed and assured me they can fit it just for him. I balled my eyes out speaking with her because I feel horrible not being there to help and she gave me my time to vent and listened ... she said she wants the same and I believe them. I just want good quality of life for him. I will say I feel confident by the phone call alone and follow up call that he will be in good hands, and kudos to the team member I spoke to that taught me so much. I thought everything was under one umbrella. I will say to anyone just call and let your mind be at ease because it is hard and if I can say this and I'm out of state and my father is in Houston and he's able in an affordable way have the help he needs.
