When I found out Lancaster had its own Yelp page, I was overjoyed! I was less thrilled to find Greggs listed at the top of our eateries... C'mon Lancaster! We can do better than that!
And The Cornish Bakery certainly is. Wonderful freshly made pies, pastries and cakes to keep the Lancaster faithful fed and full up. They also have a nice little seating area through the back if you fancy resting your tired tootsies mid-shop so you can really enjoy your meat and potato, much better than sitting on a damp bench with a pigeon pestering you for scraps.
The staff are typically warm and friendly, always happy to heat something up for you or pick out the largest possible slice of Dime bar cake (IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN IT SOUNDS!!)
Although some Lancastrians will argue Potts Pies or Susan's Pies trump The Cornish Bakery, The Cornish Bakery are right on the high street for the shopping fatigued and are a damn sight cheaper than Potts. (I still love you though, Potts!)
So c'mon lads and lasses,let's head up to The Cornish Bakery and lets keep this little independent gem fighting off the big boys for business.
