I selected three courses from the main menu whilst my partner choose three courses from the special menu that is a retrospective celebration of their 25th Anniversary. The selections available on both menus was varied with nice additional touches such as alcohol free mocktails for drivers. The food was fresh, of a high quality and well portioned, to the extent that you could enjoy the three courses without feeling stuffed to the gunnels. Preparation and presentation were above normal and it's clear that the kitchen team know what they are doing. The only course that was anything close to a bit of a let down was my dessert, which was basically a slice of loaf cake with a couple of slices of "caramelised" oranges - they treated for all the world like a couple of slices of regular quality oranges to me. Whilst not cheap the regular menu isn't overly expensive either. A fair price for good food. The 25th Anniversary menu was great value though at £25 for 3 courses and a glass of perfectly acceptable fizz. The only changes I would make would be to update the printed menus which would be more at home in a pub. Also I'd increase the space separating the tables to allow diners to feel a touch more secluded. The restaurant is decidedly informal, far from huge and a little on the snug side for a truly intimate meal - but it is definitely a small, good quality restaurant right at the heart of Weymouth's quayside and one that I hope to visit again. **TIPS** Book! Even on a Tuesday night at the beginning of May it was busy, obviously loved by the locals. Also, a bit of a strange practice, but they don't allow you to add a tip to your card payment, so have some cash on hand if you want to leave a thank you.

We had dinner at the dining room restaurant during a trip to Weymouth for the annual seafood…read morefestival. The restaurant serves a mixture of meat and seafood but since we were by the coast we were only interested in dining on seafood. To start we shared 2 appetisers between 3 of us, the ceviche and Pil Pil tiger prawns. Both these dishes were disappointingly lacking in flavour. The Pil Pil prawns seemed rather pricey at £6.95 for 3 tiny bland prawns. We struggled to choose 3 different mains from the menu as we only wanted seafood. After speaking to the chef owner to find out what other seafood was available we placed a special order of razor clams and squid with triple cooked chips in truffle oil. I'm so glad we talked to the chef owner as this was the best dish of the 3 mains and at first all the server could offer us were sardines! For the other 2 mains we chose the daily special Hake and the Brill wrapped in Serano ham from the a la carte. We were not keen on these 2 main dishes both had a small portion of creamy fish on a large pile of dauphinoise potatoes. When the server described the Hake special to us he mentioned razor clams but there were none in the dish we ate. Apparently they had used up all the razor clams in the other chef's special we ordered. Although the Hake special was missing a key ingredient they still charged us the full price of £21.50? For dessert we chose a chocolate wasabi cheesecake and a peanut butter parfait with chocolate shavings & honeycomb. I only tried the deconstructed cheesecake but was informed by my dining companions that the peanut butter parfait tasted better, the plating certainly looked nicer. Overall for the standard of food, pricing is on the high side at the dining room compared to central London; I am not sure how it compares to the rest of Weymouth but I suspect it is high. For 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts without alcohol, the meal for 3 people came to £37 per person. I would rather have paid slightly more to dine at the 1 Michelin star restaurant 'Sienna' in the nearby town of Dorchester but it was unfortunate that we did not have time to plan!

The staff is lovely and helpful and the place is buzzing for a reason. Great food and great cider.

Luckily for the most part I enjoy the changes, it feels more cosy and the food is just as good. However, the change in staff, particularly the manager (I think that's what she is) has impacted the service to the point where I no longer enjoy coming. On the couple of occasions I have been back she has been extremely rude and constantly looks miserable. On our first time coming back we were told we could self seat and were met with a pretty warm welcome, the manager wasn't around. On the second visit you couldn't help but notice her glaring at people from behind the bar, enough to make anyone feel uncomfortable. I had two interactions with her. When I paid for the meal, again miserable and agitated and when I realised I'd missed out on an offer that I wanted to claim. Trying to explain this to her she was not happy, I felt like I had done something wrong by asking about it and although she eventually managed to sort something out, I was left feeling guilty. The last visit (today) was the worst. There were a group of 5 waiting to be seated, yet there were tables for two inside that seemed empty. As someone who comes regularly seating myself has never been a problem. We walked in and took our seat, only to be verbally berated for 'queue jumping' despite there only being a large group, who clearly wouldn't have fit on a table for two. We were told off in front of the busy restaurant, and we apologised. Her attitude then turned to delight as she realised we had sat in someone else's seat who was at the bar. You could tell she enjoyed escorting us off the table whilst reminding us why we shouldn't have sat down ourselves (something that isn't usual in our lounge). Unfortunately, as someone who used to recommend Nautico to everyone (anyone who knows me knows it's my favourite ice for all day breakfast and burgers!) I can no longer recommend it until something changes with the service. I miss the old staff, and feel the manager could learn something from them. Ideally I'd like her to apologise personally for the embarrassment of being publicly scolded, but I doubt that would happen.

It's well-sited in Westbourne, and it has a public car park at the back which is free after 6pm, and is on the main bus route. The main problem with the restaurant however, is that it is too popular for the space - so make sure you book in advance. They turned several people away whilst I was there. The decor inside is slightly bizarre, with Salvador Dali-style murals on the walls, but this does not detract from the atmosphere. If anything, it prevents the place from being too posh and stuffy. Where Coffee Club excels is in its food. The menu, for a start, is a thing of wonder. It's impossible not to find anything you like, because it's so varied. Seafood, Chinese & Thai stir fries, pasta, pizza, burgers. Even fish & chips, jacket potatoes or omelettes at lunchtime. While it's easy to assume that it ends up in the category of "Jack of all trades, master of none", this is simply not the case. We all ordered different things and were impressed by how great it was. The starter was a Mediterranean-style mezze, with what must have been homemade hummus, greek yoghurt, olives, halloumi and pitta. For a main course, I had a Thai chicken pasta, which was rather a strange-sounding combination but worked brilliantly. Cooked to perfection, and with just the right amount of spice. I skipped straight to a cup of tea after that, but my boyfriend had a rather tasty looking fudge brownie. While the prices are a little more than you would pay for the average meal, the portions are absolutely huge, so you won't be going hungry. Dinner for 6 plus wine and drinks cost £135. Coffee club is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also, as you might expect from the name, does a good selection of coffees. Great for sitting outside on a summers day!
