We also had a newborn baby who would later become medically fragile and require open heart surgery and multiple other procedures that year. As you can imagine, it was one of the hardest years of our life. Due to her health, we had to be especially careful about possible exposure. We checked in with CCC sporadically up until the summer. We were keen to know if the program would still go ahead despite the pandemic. They were guarded and at one point mentioned by phone that it was uncertain due to low enrolment. By the late summer, it became clear that we could no longer take the risks of enrolling our twins in preschool at that time. We explained the extenuating circumstances and withdrew the application in order to give the school as much notice as possible. By this point, we had already paid the fees for the first term. The school refused to take the pandemic or our unique situation into account and kept over $800. This is despite the fact that the CCC preschool program we had enrolled the twins did not proceed due to the pandemic. They refused to reimburse us and refused to let us put the fees toward future enrolment once it was safe to do so. They did not even get in touch with information of when the program would re-start even though we explained very clearly why we had to hold off but that we still hoped to enrol at a later date if possible, pending our daughter being more medically stable.

He is actually disappointed on the days he doesn't have school with his friends and teachers. CCC provides children with authentic learning experiences. In class, my son has made muffins and applesauce, created countless pieces of artwork, studied the sunflowers in the community garden, and collaborated to make a class terrarium. Teachers tactically support and provide learning experiences based on the children's interests. I am so excited to see what will spark their interests next.

Our feelings, mixed at best. We had many hopes and a great introduction to the school via visits both at the school with fellow parent's, and with our child's teacher. We were excited about the coop's nurturing environment, and cohesive community. While we believe our child's teacher was everything we could hope for and more, the parent environment was not okay. Not at all. In the coop, everyone has a role/job. I was nervous but excited about my role within the school it's community. The job, and the school ended up being a place, where I did not feel comfortable. The key role authority the "Co-Chair" never liked my ideas. The energy i put into ideas, and planning, was shot down, by this woman in charge. She seemed to go out of her way to be "helpful" in doing this. We had signed up for a "coop". Instead we got one person making rules, with no regard for others. The new $5 a minute punitive late fee - BAD news, but the way in which this "Co-Chair" put down another admirable member, behind her back to me, that was it. We were sad to leave the good of the school behind. The environment had become for us, the opposite of what was pitched to us. It seemed one bad apple, but then no one, including the other board members or teachers did anything to change the situation. Maybe we had the wrong idea of the school. Our concerns primarily stem from the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior displayed by the teacher, who is also the owner of the school. She showed a pattern of passive-aggressive communication which created an atmosphere that was tense, uncomfortable, and contrary to the nurturing environment one would expect in a preschool setting. One of the most alarming incidents involved the teacher threatening to involve the police when we arranged for a family member to pick up our daughter's belongings. The overreaction was deeply unsettling. Instead, I had to involve another Mom to help get my daughter's things. Among the items returned to us was a painting my daughter had done especially for Miss Heidi after her cat died last year. This "drama" all stemmed from my husband's response to her email, letting her know we aren't moving away-just leaving the school and she verbally attacked him. However, this wasn't the first time we received a passive-aggressive and extremely long email (like this review, I've got a lot to say!) After our daughter stopped going to Marigold, we discovered that the teacher had sent an email about our family to other parents. This email contained numerous inaccuracies, further highlighting the lack of professionalism and accountability we experienced during our time at the school. This teacher's actions not only undermine the trust necessary between educators and families, but they also bring into question the very ethos of Marigold School of Early Learning. Her actions reflect directly upon the school and its values, and unfortunately, our experience was far from positive. She even would make comments about "feeling sorry" for my daughter! This is also not an inclusive preschool, which as a mom new to the whole school scene wasn't really on my radar. She made a few comments about how my Deaf son would have to go to school with other kids like him (she said this to my daughter). The teacher also tends to dish out unnecessary information to other parents about other parents. I have emails that I can show to prove her unprofessional behavior. Communication matters. It is very important. It is the essence of being human. I wasn't even going to write a bad review because her teaching style was exactly what we were looking for and she write a detailed journal of the kids' days and I thought maybe this is an isolated incident. But after hearing from other families that they had similar interactions with her, I feel like it is important I voice our experience. It is my hope that parents considering this preschool should be aware of these issues and take them into account. As parents, we entrust educators with not just the academic growth of our children, but also their emotional wellbeing. It's disheartening to think that such behavior is presented in an educational setting where developing trust, respect, and healthy communication should be a priority.

Me and my wife were happy and decided to get on the wait list for our twin toddlers here. We were told that the registration fee for one baby is 200$ and the other sibling will get 100$ off on the registration. Other places near by charge lesser or similar money and this was not our concern and we decided to register. Later we were told that we need to pay one month tuition fee if are going for full day program for both the babies. We were surprised that they ask for one month tuition fee for being on wait list? Who does that ? I have asked different places thinking it might be a norm around this place but NO - only this place does it. Not knowing when the spot will open and giving away 2 babies tuition fee with uncertainty, ambiguity and risk of losing money if we decide to move to another place. It's as good as asking for a one month rental as application fee on a home without actually renting home and being on the wait list hoping it will become available to you - with NO firm date. As parents we make sure our kids go to a place which is not money minded. Of course we are ready to pay the fee when it comes to the point where we have the spot allocated. Now here is my another surprise with this center. Their website do not say that they take registration fee + tuition fee as registration to be on the wait list. It just says that 200$ is the registration fee. Further to add to my surprise - I know my friend who is in the waitlist for the Kozy kids. My conversation with him was for the additional tuition fee which they hold along with the registration to be on the waitlist. He said to me that he did not pay any tuition fee as hold- all he gave was the registration fee of 200$ for his kid. I was really shocked to hear that the policy is not common for all. I went again today and checked with the center on the policy of the registration. They told me the same thing - I have to pay tuition fee + registration fee as registration fee to be on waitlist. I asked them is it common for all - I did tell them that I know someone who got their kid on waitlist told and all they did was to pay the registration fee of 200$ and they did not pay tuition fee as part of registration fee. I just think that they don't want our twins at their center and they keep pushing us back. Very unhappy with the experience. I just feel that they don't want us or twins in their center or they want to make more money. I recommend you all to be sure on the paper work with this center.

We've loved just about every teacher / classroom our son has moved into and if we were so so on the teacher it didn't matter much because our son is always so happy to go and see them. There's definitely some teachers who go above and beyond to do their job and others are still great. There's no one that looks like they are slacking off and neglecting kids needs. I feel like my son is on track mentally and physically with any other kids his age. He always comes home and says things that are intelligent and hilarious. The only thing is that I wish the outdoor area wasn't mostly covered in concrete, I would love to see turf installed throughout the whole play area.
