This detour is worth it!…read more We drove by it while going and had decided to go in while driving back home. We did and I'm so glad. Situated next to the Dutchman Dairy , this "Fruit Stand" is huge . Fresh berries to dehydrated goodies to fresh bread and so many sauces, it's a perfect spot to load up your groceries. We found fresh veggies too! The price was reasonable and not over the top . It's always more pricier in the city so load up!! Highly recommended!

I appreciate that Fruit World celebrates BC producers and artisans--and that Fruit World strategically sources from outside BC so as to not sacrifice quality, value, and selection. While I try to buy local whenever possible, I also enjoy tropical and exotic fruit, so I really appreciate that there is always a fun selection at Fruit World! Also, if I am buying multiple cases or looking for something outside the BC growing season, I know Fruit World will have what I need--and that it will be at a reasonable price. I also appreciate the rigorous sorting process. When you go there, you will see employees sorting through produce and picking out "subpar" items. (I put "subpar" in quotes because many of the picked-out items look good to me (and sometimes end up in a discount box).) I can trust that everything that is available for me to purchase is high-quality. At a grocery store, I would typically pick through items, but I never have to do that at Fruit World. In addition to produce, there is a thoughtful curation of artisanal products from BC (e.g., mustards, jams, breads, beauty products). I love asking the owners about the artisans they have discovered. The customer service is phenomenal. The dedication and love that go into Fruit World are evident in the smiles and customer service! Whether I am looking for a fun exotic fruit or cases of peaches, the employees are always helpful! Fruit World fills my heart with joy! I always look forward to visiting Fruit World and finding treasures!

Vernon Farmer's Market actually really surprised me! After going to Penticton Farmer's Market which…read morewas only a block, I loved that Vernon Farmer's Market was quite large! It had everything, soap, fruits & veggies, plants for you to grow, handmade clothes, coffee, honey, and cards. You have to turn into where the Kal Tire Centre is, and continue driving and you'll get to the parking lot. Lots of parking! I walked away with some coffee, local artist greeting cards, and some soap from a really nice couple! I would definitely come out to this Farmer's Market regularly if I lived in Vernon, as having a mix of vendors and not just food/fruits/veggies was really nice to support all types of local vendors.
