This was one of the first spots that I went in Worthing... I was so hungry I could eat my arm off. You order at the counter and then sit down and wait for the food to come. When I asked for a side salad, the woman wasn't really sure what I was talking about. Come to find out, there isn't much in the way of greens that I've seen so far in UK. She obliged, and when I got my panini the side salad was some chopped iceberg lettuce, one cucumber, and one tomato - about a total of two bits worth, and something that we would call "condiments" in the US. This seems to be the accouterment around here for sandwiches - so just warning those tourists that might be wanting a bit more. :) My favorite sandwich place gives some chips and coleslaw on the side - which works, but again miss my side salad from the States that might have some real greens (e.g., spinach) and some other vegetables for good measure. Anyway, the good thing is that I can buy all the stuff at the grocery store and make my own. So, back to the panini at The Continental - it was okay, but there wasn't much flavor. We got the egg, bacon, and cheese and then a chicken pesto. The pesto was just green, but lacked anything that tasted like basil. The bacon is more like ham and had no flavor at all - which is sad b/c that's why one orders bacon... the lovely taste of fat and enjoyment of clogging arteries. The coffee was also fine, but nothing special. Overall the experience was okay, but most likely not a place that I would need to visit again. read more
