The staff does not regulate the socializing 'after hours'. The bed in the Amazonian room was hard as a rock. The bar/restaurant in front of the hostel is primarily comprised of non-hostel guests. There really is no central area that makes socializing possible. Breakfast is only offered for two hours 7-9am and was not worth getting up for. During my early checkout, the staff did not even offer to compensate. I don't get how people can call this a 'modern' hostel. You can't even put toilet paper down the toilets! I decided to go to an AirBnB for a better night's sleep. BEWARE!

We checked in no problem and was informed that there is a free breakfast offered. The room was on the 10th floor. Elevator was small but did the job. The room had a small entry room w a tube tv and two sofas. In the next room was a small bathroom that looked like you need slippers in order to prevent athletes foot. The two bedrooms both had 2 twin beds and one full size bed. Must have been a hostel before. The rooms smelled musty and the decor was old school. The building past the lobby had an old eerie feeling. The beds were very firm and the sheets smelled funny. Honestly I didn't mind the room appearance but I have to knock down a star because of the smell. This place is really good if you're traveling for a short time with a lot of people on a budget. With that being said the hotel boasts a really nice staff that was accomodating with our "non Portuguese speaking" ways. Was here the openning day of world cup 2014 and it was close to some local street celebrations.
