I thought my case was going to be very easy, being a nurse, I decided to open my disability case on…read moremy own -- wrong! I had no idea that SSA will determine you able to work, depending on your past employment history, your credentials, and your academic preparation. As nurses, we tend to write a lot. Word of Advice: DON'T! Here I thought I was making it easier for SSA to approve my case, but no, it was the other way around; they were going to use all this information against me, and thus my reason for recurring to Mr. Feingold & his Associates. I have dealt with attorneys in the past, for different reasons (i.e., my education as a paralegal; life experiences, etc), but I had never met an attorney who was as patient with me as Mr. Feingold. I am currently having issues with Depression and Anxiety, and when Mr. Feingold & I spoke on the phone, I would ramble on and on. He was always so polite in re-directing me and getting me back on track. In summary, Mr. Feingold took my case after I had already (and in my opinion), screwed up my application, by being so honest... but he took it, and gave me the confidence I was looking for, that he could win my case. His patience towards me, just threw me off, because I'm used to attorneys always on the clock, counting minutes, words, emails, and all other communication methods used, to charge the client. Mr. Feingold is NOT at all like that. Eventually, we met at the Administrative Law Judge's office in Evanston, and being that we had to deal with two "Experts," I felt a bit nervous about the whole situation, but Mr. Feingold knows how to manage his clients, his staff, and the staff at the ODAR in Evanston. The two Experts involved at my "hearing" were in agreement that I could return to work at a desk job (i.e., counseling, clinic, etc). Judge, Robert C. Asbille was also my angel! I had never met such an amiable and empathetic judge! In summary, the judge ruled in my favor, and a couple of weeks later, I received my SSA award letter, and the disability amount was going to be retroactive to approximately 15 months ago. I am currently waiting for my first check, but Mr. Feingold and his Associates did a fabulous job with my case, and I highly recommend them. In our case it was a bit amusing that the judge had trouble pronouncing some of the medical terminology, but we all have issues when we encounter a territory which we're not familiar with. In my case, Disability law is not my cup of tea, but I did learn a lot from Mr. Feingold, as we went along through the Disability filing process. Hiring him on a contingency basis, to represent me in my case, was the best decision I ever made in my life!

I highly recommend this law firm you represent you in a disability case because Richard Feingold…read moretaught really hard for me and we won. SO THANK YOU SIR FOR ALL YOUR FINE SERVICE.

My name is Christine Nankishore and I'm a resident in Aurora Illinois. I hired an attorney Debra…read moreSpector with Spector and Lenz in Oak Park IL a while back for my disability case. My case went to the Federal courts so it was a long process and we won but I am not satisfied with the outcome. I feel like I was taken advantage of tremendously during a period when I was really ill (end-stage liver failure) and desperate. During this time my attorney Debra Spector kept bombarding me with stuff to sign and many of the things I questioned and she deliberately lied to me. I'd like to say that I received a letter from Social Security on 10-07-2023 indicating that I owe Spector and Lenz 40,542.68 that it is being withheld to pay my Attorney. Honestly this was a surprise to me as I was never informed that it was ever going to be that costly as it states in that letter; practically %50. My attorney told me several times when I had asked her about her fees she kept stating that I'm only responsible for the 25 percent or which is $7,500 maximum thats what she lead me to believe over and over again. I had my attorney get some medical records for me because I was really ill but her cost doesn't justify it; i just don't see it. I even asked Debra Spector for a itemized bill on two occasions and she won't respond to me which I'm entitled to a bill I would think. How can a person charge over $40,000 and not have to answer to the charges? i believe its unethical. I also just received a 1099 from the social security to pay taxes on the entire amount of money including what she got paid and I feel like this is highway robbery. Debrorah Spector knew I didn't fully understand her contract from the beginning and It's something that I questioned and when I questioned fees she went around in circles. Debra Spector had me sign some documents when I was really ill and I questioned them and Deborah Spector kept insisting that I had used her before in the past and nothing happened and that I can trust her and she was wrong? The previous case which is the original case, I was only charged $3,300 and now over $40,000 without no clarity. Debra Spector should be held to a higher standard and Debra knew I was vulnerable and weak and couldn't fight back and she took advantage of this situation at my expense. Debra Spector took. me for every penny she can get and only cared about her getting paid at the end. Debra asked a few times when she got ill that I sign a fee agreement with Justin Poh and other attorneys names listed on it and right before my last hearing she asked for it to be signed again, she said it was for her to get paid from the courts and she needed to submit these again because the case was so long. I was concerned again so I asked Debra Spector specifically if I owe any of them any money because I don't want to be responsible and she said no; she stated that the other attorneys work for her and they get paid through her. I trusted her and I was misrepresented here. When I used Deborah in the past I only dealt with her but she got Cancer things became complicated. I got different representation through her: Justin Poh and Initially in the beginning I didn't know what was going on when he took my case I couldn't even opt out because Spector and Lenz didn't inform me to the new representation until a few days before my hearing so I was stuck and we attended the hearing. Justin Poh represented me at my hearing and as a result of it, he costed me my case at that time because I lost; at that time he was new to that field and was lacking experience and I feel I wasn't fully represented and had no choice in backing out. In 2010 Deborah Spector represented me and charged me $3,129 and now it's over $40,000 and that's a big difference. I'm not sure why I am being charged over $40000 and how this can be fair that I get no bill, no explanation from social security? If you are seeking an attorney be carful and wise because this law firm was not ethical in the end it cost me and it can happen to you too. Sincerely Christine L Nankishore Please note that I am publicly asking for a receipt from you. You have not responded to any calls regarding a bill and I would like a bill for service for the 40,000.

She scheduled me for 9am . I arrived at the office with my wife at 855. We were let in and asked to fill out an intake form. As soon as we finished filling out the form and turned it in the woman asked if we had the money to pay for the consultation $50 was the charge. Their advert clearly states that they offer waivers but there was no such mention of that. I paid the $50 and was told the attorney was running a little late. A little late turned out to be nearly 30 minutes late. I should have asked for my money back and left but something told me this would have hit me with the we dont offer refunds line. Finally someone walks in wearing sweatpants and a work out tshirt and bike helmet. This person walks in and says nothing to us but speaks to the receptionist and I clearly heard him say something along the lines of "oh I have an appointment?" Guy walks to the bathroom and takes his sweet time before finally coming back and identifying himself as Christian the attorney we have been waiting for. He calls us in his office and asks maybe 10 questions before flatly saying there is no options for you. I am not upset at the outcome of the conversation I don't expect someone to tell me what I want to hear. But this place is crap he really seemed to be green so I am guessing he is not very experienced. Lesson learned don't fall for the place that plays the we service the community card yet charges $50 for a 30 minute wait and 13 minute conversation with someone who cares more about riding their bike than working with the people he rips off. And for the record we spoke to another attorney who offered a FREE consultation and seemed to know more about immigration. Bottom line dont pay for sh!t service and people who dont put in the effort. We dont all make $50 every 15 minutes. Thanks for wasting my time.
