This business revived my old, tired worn out boots. As a result I now have two identical pairs of…read moreblack boots thanks to this business. They replaced the broken zipper on one boot on one pair of boots, and it is an exact mirror image of the other zipper. Bliss. And the turnaround time of a few days was also quite reasonable as well, and on the overall scheme of things quite quick too. I am a happy fan already. The staff went the extra mile (all I wanted was the zipper fixed) and the next minute it looks like I have a brand new pair of boots, and the total investment was only around half of what I paid for a new pair of boots; not to mention what one originally paid for these boots to begin with. Going the extra mile came from putting new soles onto my boots and polishing off the sides to make them black without anymore specks of white. If anyone needs their shoes repaired; this place will be mentioned first to go to for assistance. The staff are professional and experienced; and they also know what they are doing with your high quality shoes.

Like many others, I used master cobbler because I saw a flurry of good reviews. I had recently purchased a new paid of shoes, and I wanted to get rubber soles added to them to increase their longevity. When I got home and had a chance to inspect the work that had been performed, I was rather disheartened. So much so, that I put the shoes straight back into their box and didn't touch them for 2 months; only wearing them for the first time last week. The rubber soles were installed poorly, with damage done to the sole and leather of the shoes. The heel replacement, which these new shoes did not need, was also installed very poorly, damaging the stitching, leather and wooden sole of the shoe. Please refer to the photos i have uploaded to this page. The real kicker was it cost me $100, which was more than I spent on the shoes. Overall, the experience was not pleasant.

It is confronting and painful as I have lived with my foot since birth and know pretty much what I need and why. Hamid is so very different, he listens, he is kind and gentle in his advice. For the first time I felt I did not have to fight to get my point across. He undertook to do a number of jobs including creating new shoes based on my old ones and adjusting them to even better fit. This was not an easy task and he achieved it well (he definitely will be making more shoes for me in the future). Hamid also repaired my old belts and made them longer, again very skillfully so it is practically not detectable. Hamid has skills, patience and clearly committment to his profession. I could not recommend him highly enough. I can only hope that he stays in Melbourne for ever as he is the best cobbler I have ever come across. In addition a visit to his workshop is a visual delight, it is a beautiful place which Hamid built with his own hands. Drop in even if you only need a key made or new shoe laces, you will love the place and you will like its owner and sooner or later you will need to save your favorite shoes or handbag or belt. Hamid takes pride in his work and it shows in results.

Today I was denied service solely because of my assistance animal, despite my assistance dog wearing her official vest and me showing the owner her formal registration ID card. When I informed the owner that denying me service based on my disability and assistance dog violates the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act, he responded by stating it is his shop and he decides who is allowed inside, and that he doesn't recognise assistance animals without his personal consent. This is unlawful under Australian law. Assistance dogs have the right to accompany people with disabilities in public places. Businesses cannot refuse service based on disability or an assistance animal. I am reporting this matter to the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
