This business revived my old, tired worn out boots. As a result I now have two identical pairs of…read moreblack boots thanks to this business. They replaced the broken zipper on one boot on one pair of boots, and it is an exact mirror image of the other zipper. Bliss. And the turnaround time of a few days was also quite reasonable as well, and on the overall scheme of things quite quick too. I am a happy fan already. The staff went the extra mile (all I wanted was the zipper fixed) and the next minute it looks like I have a brand new pair of boots, and the total investment was only around half of what I paid for a new pair of boots; not to mention what one originally paid for these boots to begin with. Going the extra mile came from putting new soles onto my boots and polishing off the sides to make them black without anymore specks of white. If anyone needs their shoes repaired; this place will be mentioned first to go to for assistance. The staff are professional and experienced; and they also know what they are doing with your high quality shoes.

Like many others, I used master cobbler because I saw a flurry of good reviews. I had recently purchased a new paid of shoes, and I wanted to get rubber soles added to them to increase their longevity. When I got home and had a chance to inspect the work that had been performed, I was rather disheartened. So much so, that I put the shoes straight back into their box and didn't touch them for 2 months; only wearing them for the first time last week. The rubber soles were installed poorly, with damage done to the sole and leather of the shoes. The heel replacement, which these new shoes did not need, was also installed very poorly, damaging the stitching, leather and wooden sole of the shoe. Please refer to the photos i have uploaded to this page. The real kicker was it cost me $100, which was more than I spent on the shoes. Overall, the experience was not pleasant.

Fantastic service at Carlisle St, Balaclava…read more I had a briefcase with a locking mechanism that had broke. Fixed in an hour. These guys are the best. I've had keys cut many times before with them but to know they can fix all kinds of things really well and efficiently is very reassuring.

Have had a couple of things repaired and keys cut here over the years, and have always been happy…read morewith the work and service. Around four weeks ago, I brought in my five year old Daniel Wellington watch to have the glass replaced, due to some fine scratches that had developed over several years of use. After paying $80 for the repair, I picked up the watch a couple of weeks ago. Three days later, when taking it off it fell about 20cm onto my bedside table and smashed instantly. This was a very minor impact that the original glass (and my other watch) have endured many times without issue. This suggested to me that the replacement glass was not strong enough and/or the repair made it more susceptible to breaking. I brought the watch back to the store last week and politely explained that I was unhappy with the quality of the repair and that I didn't believe such a minor impact should cause the glass to smash. Instead of listening to my concerns and trying to find a solution, the owner was extremely rude to me. He kept saying "it wasn't like that when you picked it up, was it?", even though I never suggested that it was returned to me broken. He essentially told me to pay for another repair or go away, and basically started serving another customer before we'd even finished speaking. Everyone (and assumably the owner) knows that watch glass (especially from a brand like Daniel Wellington) is designed to be strong enough to withstand day to day knocks and drops. If it wasn't, then people's watches would be smashing all the time! If replacement glass is lower quality and more likely to crack than the original, then I should have been warned of that beforehand. I tried resolving this a second time by writing an email to the owner, but was just sent a generic reply again refusing to repair the watch for free or offer me a refund. A complaint has now been submitted to Consumer Affairs Victoria. Judging by other negative reviews about the owner's rudeness and attitude, I'm clearly not alone. What a way to lose customers! Will be going somewhere else now.

The thing I love the most about Rekaris is the passion they have for shoes. When I brought in those tainted suede heels, the gent behind the counter gave them a once over, shook his head and said; "Jackie... what did you do to these?!" He promised to do what he could considering the damage. The outcome? Good as new! Rekaris is located in the handy location of City Central, perfect if you work in the city. So check them out next time you want to freshen up your favourite pair of shoes.

Thank goodness for the blokes at Rekaris shoes, who've salvaged everything from the heels on a pair of vegan suede cowboy boots to the soles of of my multi-coloured Brazilian sandals. Prices are reasonable and service is polite and good humoured. It's a bit out of the way for me so I recently tried a shoe repair place in my neighbourhood rather than take the train to the CBD. I haven't gotten the shoes back yet so can't testify to the quality of the repairs but they were way more expensive then Rekaris. If only I could learn to walk like a normal human being.....Until then there's always Rekaris!
