Using my sat nav just to try find a grocery shop and I passed budgens and as I was trying to find a safe place to turn around I happen to find Tesco which to my delight had a big car park which was sign posted very well! I ended up doing my whole weekend shopping which was great for me as I didn't have to venture anywhere else and the queues for the till was very short and staff were very friendly!

Have been shopping at this store on and off for 'years' (like lots of years). Decided this time (as…read moreI was doing a big Christmas shop) to stop and enjoy some breakfast before hand... Shopping while hungy is ALWAS a bad idea. The store itself literally has everything - it's huge, so if you can't find it here, then it probably doesn't exist. All went well... and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Some time later I had a full tummy and the car was loaded with everything we could possibly need / want (and probably more besides). There are sure to be lots of full tummy's in our house until mid January. Was an expensive shop and all in all I was there for about 3.5 hrs. Fast forward 5 days and the shop added a whacking great £85 parking charge to the bill. As there is no way to contact Eurocarparks directly (clearly the new owner) I contacted the Sainbury's store to see what could be done, since I was using several stores on the day and spent a lot of money with them. I've also been a loyal Sainsbuy's shopper all my life, with only the occassional venture into Waitrose or M&S. Their reaction was at best 'I understand your situation' - the reality was - they don't give a monkeys and said there was nothing they could do - all they gave me was a number for Eurocarparks - which turned out to be the 'automated' payment number. I will likely NEVER visit this store again, and would rather go elsewhere and pay & display in a public carpark. The whole concept of 'out of town' retail parks is now LOST in my opinion. Don;t get me wrong, the stores facilities and range of products is amazing - but the fundamental facility should be parking, especially when it's out of town. There is no option visible to extend a parking stay - so I see little point in ever revisiting, because if the queue to get through the checkouts is longer, what chance does anyone stand ?? I've had to pay the charge to 'make it go away', but the reality is I was robbed and Sainsbury's were complicit in that theft. More to the point they were not prepared to do anything about it either. Poor - very poor.
Oh yeah
See all
What an interesting supermarket. It's huge, two stories tall, and has about 40 cashiers. Yup, no…read morejoke, 40 cashiers. You don't see that in the US, and they even have self service! It's a pretty typical grocery store, but it's very large, so guess what? Selection is going to be huge. Also, some things were really cheap. 1 pound for a whole pie? No joke! There is so much here that's it pretty amazing to think about. If you're in the area and you want some food that won't break the bank, then this the spot for you!
REGARDING THE CRAWLEY STORE…read more.. Ok. I don't always believe in giving bad reviews unless really necessary.... but I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with this store. The customer services 9/10 is SHOCKING. To the point where I'm so angry thinking about it... I might actually write a letter to the big bosses. The cashiers do not engage with you 9/10... They hardly say hello, they race through scanning as if I'm taking up their time, they mumble the total... I had to LOOK at the screen because all I heard was 57. It was £10.57p. Just basically rudeness, unhelpful, and just no manners. They do not even say thank you! Or when they do, it's a mumble. I get more interaction and fun with the self service and that's saying something! I simply can't be dealing with that. It's a multimillion pound company, invest in better customer service and if you don't like your job that don't make it so obvious! I don't want to make best mates with the tesco staff everything I go in, but come on. Smile!!!! Acknowledge!!!!! The layout it extremely bad as well, you've got a aisle of fruit then veg, then fruit again, the veg. I don't know whether I'm coming or going. It's a joke. Rant ending....Never go unless your desperate... Or there's a zombie outbreak and this store is a safe place to hid.
