I've been with the Nationwide for about 20 years and never had cause to complain. (Although they…read moredid lose a £100 deposit I paid in last year, due to a computer error it was paid into someone else's account. This was quickly resolved, however). Staff are always friendly. There are 3 cashpoints, one of which takes deposits. There's another branch over the road which used to be Staffordshire/Portman.

If you want to see an advisor expect to wait for quite some time, even if you have prebooked an appointment. Queues to the counter can be long. They normally only have two or three counters open even though staff are quite happy to sit and do nothing at others. Arent very rigorous with security cheques. In fact i have withdrew money from my account before with just my cashcard. When i asked wheter they wantd to see my passport they said no i trust you i caould have been anyone. Oh and they pounce on you as you leave trying to sell you things. And worst of all most times if you have a query they say they cant deal with it and you need to call the call centre.
