My sister and I in the bar area.
    Chassidy S.

This hotel is in the Financial District. It's within walking distance to the World Trade Center Memorial. There are a few hotels near by, so there are some chain restaurants and stores around the corner. I stayed here for a few nights with my sister. It was cozy. The rooms were just the right size. Everything was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bar that is really cute inside of the hotel. The only con is that the Financial District is kind of far away from things that we wanted to see, but NYC is huge. I guess no one location is perfect.

I did not stay here but I visited my friend who was. His room was very simple and small. His bathroom was pretty big for a small room. We then all hung out at the lounge which was decorated very well. Very pretty area with plenty of seating options. We sat near a fish tank that was on a tv screen. Felt very cozy too. We all ordered drinks. My friends mocktail he said he enjoyed and than the rest of us who had cocktails all felt they were too strong. I had an espresso martini and could not even drink half of it. Way too strong. This hotel is located like in an ally way sort of but, it is very close to the oculus and other stores/ landmarks in the area.

Full disclaimer - I didn't stay at this hotel; my chum and I came here for lunch this past Friday after we both separately noticed this place as a potential spot (which I'm mostly impressed by because there is a ton of construction going on by the entrance and it's easy to walk right by in the chaos - go us). The random signage easily and successfully guided us to the 6th floor where the bar/restaurant was. If we're being honest, this definitely felt more straight-up hotel lounge than anything else - it was basically a collection of odd, edgy chairs placed around odd, edgy tables. I'm also reasonably certain that we were the only non-guests in the room. It felt very travel business class-y in there. The bartender was an absolute delight, a pile of Gen X quirk who immediately recognized an elder Millennial pile of quirk. Very pleasant to deal with, and honest in her appraisal of the menu and recommendations, specifically highlighting a grilled cheese sandwich (I think $18ish). That actually sounded pretty tasty so I took her up on that one, and it didn't disappoint. I don't think any of the ingredients were insanely high-end/earth-shattering, but they really didn't need to be. Presumably it was cooked on a panini press, and it came with a side of tomato sauce for dipping purposes (stunningly identified on the menu as tomato dip). I liked that it was thick but not chunky - good luck nailing that combo - and the sandwich hit the spot. I'm always a little leery of a cocktail menu with a tourist theme - and it doesn't get much more touristy than naming your five main cocktails after a specific NYC borough - but I ultimately opted for the Berry Berry Staten Island Ferry ($16). It was fine; my biggest issue with it was that it wasn't the best pairing with the sandwich, but that's ultimately on me. I leaned in its direction because I thought the sweeter, fruitier option would be refreshing on a summer day, which it was. I'd probably continue investigating the cocktail menu though if I came back for another adventure. This was definitely a change of pace from the typical Financial District lunch; I don't know too many people who go out of their way to have a meal at a 6th floor hotel lounge/bar. And honestly? For a boutique hotel that could pretty much charge whatever it wants to business travelers and/or tourists, the prices weren't insane (I think the grilled cheese could have been a little cheaper though). The winner of the day though was the bartender, who was probably just stopping at work on the way to a Reality Bites reboot audition. Solid recommend on that basis alone.

Small King room but comfortable. Modern, especially the bathroom. Front desk area small but staff was friendly. The breakfast was mainly a breakfast sandwich for almost $20 and they kept running out of bagels and eggs for them. Very odd for them to not have proper stock two days in a row. Location wise was great as it's near World Trade Center, a Starbucks, a Pub, two diners, and a couple of pizza places nearby (Joes is the best). The Rector subway station is right in front of the hotel making it super convenient.

Coffee Mark on side the cleaners didn't clean

When we arrived at Cloud One Hotel, we were greeted by a lovely and genuine receptionist who made check-in smooth. However, as soon as I entered my room, I noticed a strong damp/moldy smell. I tried opening the windows and spraying aftershave, but when we returned later, the smell was still there. I went to reception, and they offered me a new room, which I accepted. The first night in the new room, I found myself itching and scratching a lot. I didn't think much of it at first, but the next morning, after showering, I realized the hotel's shower gel and shampoo were very strong and caused a rash on my skin. I've never had a reaction to hotel toiletries before, so I stopped using them. Another issue was housekeeping. Rooms weren't cleaned until 4:00PM, which was frustrating since I was leaving early in the morning and returning in the afternoon to rest. I asked twice if my room could be cleaned earlier, around 11 AM or noon, but nothing changed. The cleaners was good but there was still dust in the rooms and sides wasn't wiped down. But the rest of the room was clean A few days into my stay, the itching got worse. I went to reception and asked if there could be bed bugs or dust mites. The staff said they would check with the manager, but I never heard back. When I followed up, I had to explain everything again to a different staff member. I showed them pictures of my skin, and they suggested I see a doctor or go to urgent care. I asked if they could at least change the bedding or inspect the room. They said it was likely the detergent their cleaning company uses for the sheets. To test this, I slept in my own clothes for three nights--and the itching stopped. This confirmed the issue was with the sheets. I asked to speak to the manager and explained my concerns. He immediately shut it down, saying, "We don't have bed bugs or mites." When I asked how the hotel planned to handle the situation, he said, "Do you want to leave the hotel or get a new room?" His attitude was cold, and he didn't seem interested in helping. When I questioned him further, he hit me with, "I've been in this industry for 30 years--longer than you've been alive." I couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional that was. I told him straight that his response was unnecessary. Another staff member tried to defend him, but I wasn't having it. I said I would wait to see how they handled things before deciding what to do next. They eventually upgraded me to a better room, which I appreciated, but after that, the atmosphere changed. Before this, the staff were friendly and welcoming. After the incident, they barely acknowledged me. It felt awkward, like I was being avoided. On the positive side, the hotel itself looks great, and the location is perfect--close to the 9/11 Memorial and other attractions. Some of the staff were lovely, but the way management handled my complaint ruined the experience. The view from the last upgrade was the best view and too. Was much bigger and much nicer. Thank you for the upgrade. Would I stay here again? No. If they worked on their customer service and management's attitude, it could be a great hotel!

Breakfast was great!! People were kind and attentive, great ambience, interior design. Food was great too, we'll be back

    What we were given

I'm having the absolute worst experience of my life that I have ever had at a hotel. We booked and paid over $1200 for the Superior Double Room with Two Double Beds with City and River View, but as you can see from the photos we were given a totally different room from what was advertised to us. We were not notified that the particular room we booked was unavailable. The hotel is refusing to refund us nor are they offering any other solution to resolve the issue. I do not recommend staying at this hotel. This is an absolute scam.

Newly renovated and fabulous! Found myself in NYC for business again and after considering prices and availability within walking distance of my office I settled on this hotel, and so glad I did. I was greeted with a smile during check in and the woman helping me was extremely pleasant and very informative. Quick hotel history in a nutshell - it is a German owned company and new to the US. This hotel was previously a Marriott. It was purchased in early 2022 by this company and went by the name Hotel NY while under renovation and just changed over to their official new name The Cloud One in January 2023. The hotel lobby is very chic and clean. You need a room key to activate the elevator, a nice safety feature. The whole hotel is newly renovated so the rooms are spectacular - updated and VERY CLEAN!!! My room had a king size bed, very large desk, walk-in shower, and mini fridge. There is a safe in the closet along with iron and ironing board and the provide a full size hair dryer. No complementary travel size toiletries but rather large bottles of hand wash and body wash. Unfortunately no shampoo or conditioner so don't forget to bring your own. Overall very happy and being that cleanliness of a hotel is number one on my list when in NYC highly recommend this one and I would totally stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location. Short walk to 911 Memorial and museum. Room was clean and a decent size. Mattress was very comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and checking in was fast. One elevator wasn't working and there is ongoing construction.

A great find in downtown NY. Everything is within walking distance; food, tourist attractions (9/11 memorial, oculus, one world trade center), subway and even malls. We arrived earlier than check in time but they were able to accommodate us and gave us a room right away. It was our anniversary and they gave us free room upgrades with magnificent views as well as free drinks at their bar. The rooms are clean and spacious, minimal and functional. They are currently having renovations but their bar/lounge area is a good place to hangout and meet up with friends. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. Unfortunately, due to geopolitical instability impacting our return route through Amman and the broader Persian Gulf region, our travel plans became unworkable. I contacted multiple hotels involved in our itinerary, and every one of them demonstrated professionalism and understanding by waiving cancellation fees given the circumstances--including other Marriott properties and the Ritz-Carlton. This property, however, took a completely different approach. I spoke with Samir in the reservations department. He refused to provide any refund. We went back and forth multiple times, and each time he introduced a new justification. At one point, he claimed the U.S. State Department had not advised against travel to the Persian Gulf and that any warning had expired on March 31. I provided evidence that there was no expiration date, yet he continued to deny the request. I also explained that other Marriott properties and Ritz-Carlton locations had already issued full refunds under the same circumstances. Despite this, he continued to refuse any accommodation. Only after I told him I would be leaving a review about my experience did he offer a future credit. That is not a practical solution when I have no certainty of returning to Morocco. I then requested that a manager follow up with me. No one ever did. Communication stopped entirely. This response reflects a lack of flexibility, accountability, and basic customer consideration--especially when compared to how other properties under the Marriott International brand handled the exact same situation. As a result, I had to absorb the financial loss and cancel the reservation. Based on this experience, I recommend considering alternative accommodations that demonstrate greater responsiveness and professionalism when dealing with legitimate, unforeseen global disruptions.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. I am familiar with CitizenM as I have been to their hotel bars in their Miami locations, but had never stayed at one. I truly enjoyed my experience here. From check in to ordering wine or coffee at the bar, to the room, it was all lovely. I will say, the room is quite small. But truly, what do you need a big room for when you're going to be exploring NYC all day? The bed we got was a king, and dare I say it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The room is set up a bit like a studio, with two little closets which made it easy to organize and unpack, a small desk, and a vanity in the common area. The toilet and shower are together in what kind of looks like a spaceship capsule in the middle of the room. One cool thing is how high tech this hotel is - you have an ipad that controls everything in the room from the room temp, your blinds, to the TV, to connecting your devices to the TV to stream music, etc. In the lobby bar you can opt in for hotel breakfast buffet, but instead we would just grab coffees as we were getting ready. Grace at the bar was super friendly, as was all of the staff. My one area for improvement is the elevator. We received a notice that one of the three elevators was broken during our stay and every time we would get on the elevator it would take us multiple floors up before going down. Not the worst thing in the world, but just annoying if you're in a rush to get somewhere. Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. I got a petite room since I was traveling alone which I would not recommend for a couple, but for me it was perfect. The bathroom area was the best part and not at all an afterthought. They knew women would be coming and they nailed it, down to the magnifying mirror. Whenever you get to spend time with other book lovers, it's a plus, so I also very much loved being able to talk to people in the common room on the 2nd floor. Often times NYC misses this in their hotels. The books here aren't anything you really want to read so bring your own books but all in all 5+ stars for me!

Fellow bibliophiles will especially appreciate the concept of this book-laden bolthole. I really enjoyed being able to pop into the Reading Room at any time and get tea, water, fruit, and other snacks. The hotel's bar, Bookmarks, is a lovely space on the 14th floor to meet a friend for drinks, but make sure to get a reservation before heading up. Each floor of the Library Hotel is dedicated to one of the ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal system. My room was 800.003 Poetry, which is a petite room with one full bed. And when I say petite, I mean it! Think room for a bed and little else. But this is NYC so I didn't need much more. If you want to be in Midtown Manhattan, the Library Hotel is a perfect choice.

We had two full sized beds which worked fine, but there was little space to move around in the actual room. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of outlets around the bed and on the desk, making charging very accessible. The shower was nice with good water pressure, and took no time at all to get hot. Location wise - it is in a very convenient spot to CVS, Starbucks, and a metro station. There are also some great restaurants that we tried nearby and walking over was never an issue, even at night. They were currently undergoing a lot of construction in the summer of 2023, so you may see a bit of that if you choose to stay for the rest of this year. However, our rooms were never bothered by any particular noise level fortunately.

They also offered the price including breakfast. Arrived at the hotel and saw that they only had one working elevator for a hotel that was over 20 floors high. There was a line for the elevator that you had to wait for at least 20 minutes to take. I asked the about the breakfast and they said the restaurant was closed so no hot breakfast. Why is this hotel offering a room rate price with breakfast when there is no restaurant for breakfast?! They told me they had bagged breakfast, which was always gone and coffee was all gone too. Took over 10 minutes to wait for new coffee to arrive. Renovation work bright and early at 8am. I was offered loyalty points for compensation by the manager, Delanie, and these points never showed up. I was also mistakenly charged for drinking their water bottles when I didn't even touch those bottles. They never even told me that I was going to be charged after checking out. I just saw a random extra charge on my credit card. The manager, Delanie, had said this would be refunded, but never saw this refund come through just like the loyalty points.
