My partner had me tell him what I thought would look good and I asked that they not cut all the texture out of his hair, it was several inches long in most places and had some nice curls. I also asked for it to be shorter around the ears and scissor cut on top, leaving as much length as possible. Well, that particular barber didn't hear a word I said and chopped my man's hair down to nothing. Barely leaving an inch on top of his head and basically using a number 2 up past the crown. He left him with white marks and hair all over him, and completely ignored the fact that I asked to have his beard trimmed too. He spent the entire cut staring at everyone and everything in the room except what he was being paid to do. So disappointed. Don't trust the marketing. I could have done a better fade on him myself at home. My partner was upset, but he's not someone to complain about a service. I was ready for a fight, he had to make me leave the shop I was so angry. It's going to take 6 months for his hair to grow out that much again.

While not as cheap as some national chains, the price difference really reflects in the quality of the service and the quality of barber. I've been to both Brent and Paige, and they're both equally fantastic. They're both great people and great barbers. I highly recommend you make an appointment, as they have limited availability for walk-ins. I've called and they've been able to get me in with as little as 15 minutes notice. Overall, this is THE place that I plan to get my hair done at for the foreseeable future. I have recommended them to many friends, and they've always come back to me with glowing reviews. Every great man needs to go to a barbershop like this once in their life. You get a great shave,…read moreyou get other manly guys that know how to cut a man's hair, and you feel like telling all your friends to come see how good you look when you get done here. I went to here looking for an old-school barber shop that knew how to trim my moustache, and couldn't have been pleased. If you have ever grown a handlebar moustache of epic proportions, you know what a decision this is. I couldn't trust any "super-cuts" beautician school to take care of this thigh-tickler. I set my appointment for 20 minutes after I called, got a trim and the shave of my life for $20, seriously got like a dozen compliments on how good my moustache looked later that day. TL;DR -If Ron Swanson lived in Lincoln, he would get his grooming done here. Enough said.

For some reason, my barber (Gary's partner) felt that buzzing my sideburns upward---creating an unsightly hair-buzzed line on the sides of my head---is a good look. (Is it 1994?) This blunder was particularly troubling because I had instructed the barber not to go too short. I asked for "a fairly light trim." I guess we were using two different dictionaries. So, now I'm impatiently waiting for everything to grow back in order to try a different place. The shave, too, left much to be desired, which is odd considering a professional was using a straight razor. I get a much better shave with my Fusion Power and plain Barbasol. If you're merely interested in moving from a Neanderthal look to something that will allow you to avoid frightening small children, well, perhaps you could worse, but if you have even a hint of a metrosexual bone in your body, and you care at all about how your hair looks, go elsewhere.
