This place is adorable! My boyfriend took me here on a rainy day and we had tons of fun. The concept of the Clay Room is that you can paint your own moulds and the store will help you glaze them. They have a wide selection of colours for you to choose from to truly bring out your inner artist. We came here in the afternoon and decided to paint a piggy bank and a fish. It took around 4 hours per person to completely cover the mould and add our personal touches. I recommend going early in the morning to make sure that you have sufficient time to finish your painting. The store closes a bit early on the weekends so you may have to go back to finish up your painting. Keep in mind you will have to wait another week for the glazing to be complete. The price is a bit on the higher end but reasonable given that most activities in Toronto are fairly on the pricey side. Overall this is a great place to visit if you are looking for a fun activity on a rainy day or even a sunny day!

What I got: Group package ($25/pp covers a $15 pottery item). My item cost $15 Pros: - Came here with a large group for a corporate event ~20 people, for a 3 hour pottery painting event from 7-10pm. These are the extended hours for large groups. - There is a wide selection to choose from, plates, teapots and spoons. - Each paint container comes with a tile showing the real colour once it's glazed, when you first paint it, the colour looks very faint even after 3 coats but if you see the pictures, the colour becomes darker after firing and glazing. - There are also smaller needlepoint paints that allow you to make more detailed patterns. - The two ladies helping with the event were knowledgeable and answered your questions about how to make your piece turn out nice. - Food is allowed at the tables though you probably won't be eating if you're hands are dirty. They offer aprons though! - Last Protip: if you want to see what kinds of things to paint or want inspiration, go on the clay room Instagram to see what others have painted. Cons: - It takes time to glaze and fire all the pottery pieces so they will give you a paper for you to come back and pick up your piece. I went 3 weeks later and it was still there.

I've never had so much fun before! You're probably wondering, "How can it be so much fun when all you're doing is painting pottery?" Well, first off, there's a lot of different things that you can paint! There are cups, piggy banks, flower pots, bowls, plates, etc. Once you picked your piece, you can get started with the painting! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and you're not rushed at all to complete your painting. The best part is picking it up a week later to see your creation which was very exciting! I would love to come back here to paint something else but it is a bit pricy hobby.

Came here with my mom and sister for Mother's Day on a Sunday and we were able to get a seat right away. They have a large selection of pieces to choose from and tons of paint colours (you can also use as many as you want). There was a small "studio" fee based on the size of your piece but we sat there literally all day so it's well worth it. They also let you come back if you don't finish your piece in time which is amazing. One of my favourite ceramic painting shops by far; would definitely recommend!

I made a jug here with my girlfriend for our two year anniversary. A great place to go, and not just for kids.

We made our own pieces took them home to dry to 6-8 week then came back to paint our pieces. Be sure to check their website beforehand because they usually have some type of promotional going on. For the matcha bowl it was only $25 per person for 1 lb of clay and the instructor takes you through how to make it. For the painting we only paid $10 per piece and they also glaze and fire for you so you can actually use your pieces. The staff is always very kind and accommodating. Usually their classes and painting is one hour but they let us stay longer with any additional charges. Even if you are a beginner like me and mess up they will help you fix your pieces so don't worry. Definitely very worth it! Recommended coming if you're looking for an artsy activity. Art ventures has multiple location this is the Bay and Dundas location. They offer different pottery class from beginner class with instructors to advance ones. You can always paint your own pottery that you make. They also have already made pottery if you just want to paint a piece. You do have to book before going so make sure you book online or over the phone.

Process is simple. You pick your already made ceramic piece off the shelf and someone sits down with you before you start painting. They explain all the dos and don'ts and show you samples of a good painting job and what happens when you don't later enough paint. Then you go and create your masterpiece! You're free to use whatever brushes you want and all the paint that you need. There also is no time limit of how long you sit and paint. I think my gfs and I took about 2.5 hours? All pieces are priced differently. They're very helpful if you have any questions so don't hesitate to ask! The only thing that my gfs and I didn't realize is that it takes about a week for the pieces to be "glazed". So if you're not from around the area it might be a pain to come back and get it. If you fail to pick up your pieces I believe after 3 months, they donate them. I came back at exactly the 7 day mark and they just finished glazing that morning. Thank god, because I would've been really disappointed if I had gone all that way for nothing. They also have a sign that says no need to call to ask if your piece is ready as it SHOULD be ready within a week.

We were so impressed we bought a year membership so the whole family can participate together. You come in, choose your piece, get a bit of instruction and then you are off to the races. You can just keep coming back for as many hours as it takes, at NO extra cost, so that you can get it just right!!! Love that! Give it a try - bet you love it like we do!

Flash forward, both of us came back on Easter Sunday for an additional session to complete our work. Yvette wasn't working. It was a younger lady (who's name I forgot to ask). She was just as friendly as Yvette. I had booked the session online quite last minute (at around 2pm for a 3pm session) so she didn't have everything setup for us when we arrived but no worries. I'm happy I managed to salvage my horizon! **see my previous review** :) Just as Yvette had told me on our last visit, they only charged us the $6 studio fee for 2 ppl so $12 (no funny business). Our paintings turned out okay even without an instructor guiding us! After inspecting both of our paintings I noticed I like to use thicker, broader strokes and my gf uses thinner, more refined strokes. I'd definitely be open to coming back for canvas painting again or pottery perhaps in the future. Very fun!

I found some hooks that worked for my project, but had to carefully discard broken and dirty ones from the ones I wanted to buy (dust and sand-like substance in the bottoms of bins, kinda gross). That took some time, so I was in kind of a hurry when I checked out. When I left, I noticed that the woman charged me almost double, so I went back within five minutes to get an adjustment. She refused -- since I'd walked off the property the hooks were non-refundable. I explained that she'd made a mistake, and I'd take a credit or whatever, but she refused. She acted as if she'd never seen me before, even though I was the only one in the store for half an hour moments ago. It was pretty awful. I wish I'd been more careful and watched her tally up my sale, but regardless I'd never go back because of her horrible attitude and the cleanliness of the establishment.

Not familiar with the Beaches area, but I guess if this is the only place to get beads then the prices are decent. If you dont live in the area, I'd consider calling them to see if they have what you need before heading there.
