From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and impeccably clean. There is a variety of classes and they offer both heated and non-heated studios. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming to all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or looking to deepen your practice, they do a fantastic job offering modifications and providing hands-on guidance. Every class provides the perfect balance of a great physical workout and deep mental relaxation. It is so easy to unwind and disconnect from the busyness of daily life here. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a wonderful, uplifting, and supportive community. If you are looking for a place to build strength, flexibility, and inner peace, this is absolutely the spot!

Consent should be opt-in, not opt-out. Also don't spread essential oils without telling people what's in it because people have allergies. Also not a fan of the wu wu stuff about sensing and cleansing energies with hand movements, which is not even part of the traditional spiritual practice of yoga. I found a better studio in town.

I can't believe this is their first review, but I suppose if you didn't know about The Yoga Place,…read moreyou'd probably never find it. However, hidden upstairs in the City Square Building on Main Street is a beautiful studio that is guaranteed to change the way you look at yoga. While not a stranger to yoga, the Iyengar method is radically different from any way that I've been taught. From the very first class, you'll actually _feel_ how it's different. Rather than emphasizing flexibility as the #1 most important goal, the Iyengar method teaches proper alignment and utilizes various props throughout the class. It teaches balance and how to use your muscles to their full potential so that you have lifelong fitness and health. It also teaches the deeply calming aspects of yoga...how certain poses can alleviate afflictions, help with insomnia and have restorative qualities. Before your first class, you will be asked to fill out a medical history sheet. I've never had to do this for any fitness class, and I truly wish that I would have! When the instructor knows of your injuries, ailments and limitations, they are able to tailor the class specifically to you. They remember that you have a knee problem, and will modify the pose to meet your needs. Not in a shameful way, but in a "we still want you to participate" way. The classes are not intimidating, and I'd encourage just about anyone to at least take one to see how they like it. The instructors (especially Chris) are kind, encouraging, but will correct you when you are out of alignment so as to prevent injury and to make sure you are getting the full benefit of each pose. Class fees are very reasonable, and they have discounts for students. The varied schedules are nice because they can accommodate morning, afternoon or evening practice. And if you miss a class in your session, they allow you to make it up. You never feel like you're wasting your money if you have to miss a class. I've been to the crowded classes. It's definitely a different way of practicing yoga, but for me, the personal attention and focus on proper alignment have done amazing things for me the last 12 weeks. Please check them out!

"Rubber Ducky, You're the One"…read more Full disclosure: I am neither an old hippie nor a new age hippie. Heck, I don't even particularly care for leaving my hair straight. But if you were hypothetically born in the 70's...and I'm not saying that I was... you have a miniature hippie living way down deep in your DNA somewhere. Scientific fact. It's Ok to unleash that inner hippie once and a while, and a perfect place to do it is at Temple Harmonics by fully submerging yourself into one of their restorative, evening sound baths. Rubber ducky and bubbles not included. But do bring your pillow and blanket and snuggle into one of twenty-eight comfortable zero gravity chairs arranged in front of the sound stage. Then prepare to float off to dreamland on a meditative wave of Tibetan Singing Bowls, Tingsha bells, and Native American flutes, all set to keyboard music and choreographed by the very talented gong-show master himself, Frank Andresen. It's ok if you fall asleep. It's also ok if you drool. The sweet, soothing sounds of snoring around the room may also periodically chime in with the music, and hey, that's ok too. But if instead of falling asleep, you are energized by the music, you will feel funky, "good, good, good vibrations' pulsing and humming throughout your body and chi/ki/prana (or in my case, my glowing, chocolate-chip-oatmeal-cookie inner life force). Ladies, remove any ponytail hair binders, FunBun hair pieces, or dangly jewelry as it will distract you from being fully relaxed during your transcendental journey. When the concert is over, you may be invited to step inside one of the Tibetan bowls for a mini chakra balancing from Mr. Andresen. Who doesn't need a Solfeggio frequency or two in their life? Bring a piece of your experience at Temple Harmonics with you when you purchase healing rocks, crystals, jewelry and more for sale at the Rock and Gift Shop near the exit before leaving the building and returning your inner hippie back to its rightful, proper place. **Pro tip: Save yourself $5.00 by reserving a chair ahead of time. Cost is $15.00 with reservation; $20 at the door **Keep an eye on Temple Harmonic's calendar for events with psychic medium Melissa Divine. ~The Nosy Norwegian Sniffing out good deals and Himalayan salt lamps so that you don't have to.
