I remembered stopping here a few years back when it was newly built. The facility is huge, with super wide isles, and very clean and organized. The location is right off of the main road, Hwy 86. So there's no need to make extra turns to travel too far inland. If you're passing through it's a nice place to pick up supplies. Here's what I liked... * New facility. So everything is very clean and organized. * Easy access off of the main highway. * Easy access / pull-through parking spaces. A lot of available spaces to choose from. * Really friendly people in the area. It seems like Brawley is a working-class agricultural community. There is definitely something about small towns where both the store patrons and the employees are friendlier than usual. For example, the employees are very helpful in finding items. I had a car actually stop to let me cross the street. I received an "excuse me", a "pardon me", one "thank you", and a "hello". This is all in one visit to the store! What the heck??? I've gotta say, I've been having a sh*tty week. This is pretty nice to see :-) Here's what I didn't like... * Too bad nicer people are 200 miles away from home :-) ha ha ha... * Hmm... Convenience store cum food take out called "The Chow" for the artsy community of Bombay Beach…read more There is a vague Christian mood with a television droning out some mystical, esoteric program and a saying out of the bible pasted on the front window of Bombay Beach Market.  Some parts of the store have a department store like feeling with products displayed like featured items for display. Mostly dry and canned goods, but there is a small refrigerator of packaged deli meats.  I found some rare canned foods from the South that are not found in most Socal grocery stores. Glory Southern Style Spinach from North Carolina and Southgate Beef Hash from Tennesee. Apparently the owners are from the South according to the quietly diffident lady sales clerk.   Rest of the store has cleaning goods, odds & ends medicinals, basic hardware, tools. Also, the store is dedicated to the owners' eclectic objets d'art that depicts another vague feeling of the South Pacific or the Carribean.  Bombay Market is only store in town between  North Beach and Niland. They also carry chachi's/gifts, children's toys, fun jewelry some glassware and kitchen needs. From driving in this little town, I don't know if you would be able to find any of these necessities. Prices are a hit and miss. You will find some things pricey and others reasonable. For sure you'll be looking for convenience. There were employees focused on stocking the shelves. The employee at the register was friendly and didn't hesitate to engage with a customer. There's outdoor seating at the front of the market. A nice place to enjoy a bite if not too hot. From the Dope AF guy in the deli that knows our order, the amazing employees who always give their time to help with questions and those amazing cashiers. In today's society where we're getting more & more disconnected from one another I think the biggest thing this company & store gives is that nostalgic, hometown, community vibe and that's not an easy achievement for such a large store - but they do! Since COVID so often such methods of procuring Groceries has been wrought with a little uncertainty. Now that we are on the other side of the pandemic era I am happy that I can still drive up and park and have my order loaded. I understand that stores miss out on the financial benefit of our tendency to impulse shop by being in the aisles impacted by displays, advertising gimmicks etc....
