Nice place to indulge in fluffy chocolate dreams... My friend and I decided the world was too cold and depressing after experiencing heavy snow, wind, and reduced daylight. We needed something to cheer us up without resorting to last night's self-medicated treatment: red wine, a Rioja to be exact, at The Graduate. This time, we decided, our treatment was to be chocolate.
My friend ordered a hot chocolate, and thought it was delicious. I went for a cappuccino to avoid a chocolate overdose since we also ordered a chocolate fondue. The fondue was hearty and good. It was dark chocolate, so you can imagine how rich it was. It comes with strawberries, marshmallows, pieces of brownie, cakes, Turkish delight, and cookies/biscuits to be used as dippers. In theory, it's all very good... Heck, in practice, it was all good. However, too much chocolate and sweetness can be overwhelming. At some point, it actually became 'sickly sweet' or too sweet to manage. I wish they would offer more fruit instead of having pastries and other sweet dippers. It would've been better if bananas and kiwi pieces were included instead of the cakes and cookies. Then again, we were only two people, and it proved to be too much for us. Perhaps, the fondue is meant to be shared with a group of people. In any case, we left a lot of the fondue.
Great place but if chocolate can sometimes be too much for you, try to order less rich things. Their chocolate bars are fantastic. I would recommend their Colombian chocolate bar (totally unbiased hahaha, yeah right)... Actually, you'll be happy with whatever chocolate bar you choose. read more
