There is a reasonable ca park as it gets quite hard to park in the summer. I have visited for lunch and dinner and both were very nicely presented and well cooked. The skate is very tasty and the scampi and Jenga chips are good. The costs can be a little bit higher for lunch but the menu is very similar and therefore for dinner, I thought it was quite reasonable. Peter who used to be at another Billericay restaurant is the restaurant manager and as normal makes sure we get well looked after.

Many good 2 for 1 deals in the menu if this suits you. Only let down by two leaks in the waste pipe on the men's toilet with a pool of water under two of the urinals and one cubical in the lady's had clearly been used to maintain the other two, no toilet paper dispenser, no toilet seat, why did they not put a sign up saying do not use? I would eat here again but get the toilets sorted please.

I waited patiently, a third barmaid came out, and started taking a very complicated food order next to me. I became aware that people in the middle of the bar were being served before me, so I moved to try and be more prominent. Soon, one of the barmaids became free but did not make eye contact or acknowledge me in any way. She started to talk to her colleague. I asked if I could please be served, as by this point, I had been waiting 10 minutes, and two people had been served ahead of me. The barmaid looked at me and told me to bot be rude and that she had been about to serve me. I stated that I had not been rude, I merely wanted service and was anxious as people had been served ahead of me. The barmaid then walked away and refused to serve me. I have been going to the blue boar for many years and have always tried to justify poor service. However, today's was just too much. I always make a point of being kind to service workers, especially when they are clearly busy, but I do not expect to be spoken to in that way. My lack of service will mean very little in the long run to wearherspoons, as they clearly did not care, but I dont think I'll be going there again. I forgive dirty tables, waiting for food, even often cold food or the wrong orders. But please don't be rude.

The drinks are very reasonably proced (as Wetherspoons are) and despite the fact that there is no music allowed to be played in there, there is still a good atmosphere. I have also eaten here on a Sunday and they food was good. It wasnt the best food I had but was acceptable for what you pay for. I never had any trouble getting a table for our party (there were 6 of us) and much to my surprise our meals were bought out at the same time and were hot (which some pub chains struggle with). Only draw back is parking space. There is a small car park to the rear of the venue but when full other options are limited unless you know the area well.
