The staff are always friendly, professional and helpful. The food is always amazing quality from rolls at lunch to the best chicken pie in the evening. We turned up without a booking just wanting a summer time drink but when we asked if we could possibly have a table they managed to fit us in. During lockdown we visited several times. Everything was really professional. We felt extremely safe but none of the enjoyable experience was compromised.

You'll def find me jumping around in here when Feedback are playing, they are a great covers band playing anything from The Who through to Kings of Leon. Some of the other bands are great too check out the website for listings. Prices are cheap, free to get in if your early, £3 if not, cloakroom is free, drinks are usual pub prices. There is a car park but its small and gets full early. Nearest station is Seven Kings (5 min walk). I go here about once a month and have never had a bad night, the only thing I would say is wear flat shoes as plenty of dancing = crippled feet if wearing stilettos, I speak from experience!

There's an upstairs that is accessible by a very very narrow staircase which even has handles for support, all part of the fun lol!! Beer: We tried out the Guinness (great pouring process!), peroni, and a local ale which the bartender allowed me to sample. He was very helpful and walked me through the different ciders they had in stock and even how you could add fruit syrups to sweeten the flavor. What makes this place even more memorable was the helpfulness of the young guy bartending. He helped us plan how to get to Gatwick airport extremely early the next morning and we owe him a big one!

I had to use the gents loo and was in the cubicle doing what you do. Someone outside decided to throw water over the sort of wall, onto me. When I came out, I complained to the staff, they didn't seem to care, even though the bar is quite close to the door to the toilets. On another visit to the pub, I was just standing at the bar with my pint, when one of the female staff came over to me and started shouting at me, yelling that the staff know what they are doing and telling me to stop ordering them around, which I never did. I saw a message on Facebook about this pub, where a person said that he heard a staff member yelling at someone and was complaining that they were taking drugs in the gents. The day they said about this seemed to be too near to my experience.

There's a room out the back which is more of a dining room but we stayed in the front bit as that's where the music was. The roast dinner was the best I've probably ever had out, certainly in London and at £12 each it wasn't bad at all. There was so much meat (we both had the lamb) and it was so tender and juicy. It had the largest, tastiest homemade Yorkshire pudding I've ever seen, crispy goose fat roast potatoes and perfectly cooked parsnip, carrots and cabbage. It had really delicious gravy too. The drinks were cheap and the jazz band were brilliant. When they weren't playing, there was a guy in the corner with decks playing LPs. There have been some comments on here from other reviewers about the toilets. The ladies were really clean and nicely decorated so may have been refurbished recently. My boyfriend went to the men's and said they weren't the best but not that bad so they may have had some work recently too. This pub is really handy for Forest Gate station and also Wanstead. We had a lovely walk around Wanstead Flats before going to the pub so there's lots to do if you travel to the area. We'll definitely be visiting a lot more.
