I went in for any eye exam and extra testing. At the emd of my visit, I asked for my prescription for my glasses, she would NOT give it to me. She told me I would have to pay 30.00$. I said absolutely NOT. I just paid them a 50.00$ co- pay. AND, they proceeded then to tell me my vision check up is NOT covered under medical OR my vision insurance, because they are surgeons. SO, BEWARE OF THAT CHARGE. I did some research, and it is AGAINST THE LAW for them to not release your prescription/or charge you for it. I have filed claims with the BBB Federal Trade Commission Lisa Madigan's office My health insurance company. THIS office cannot make up any rule they want, their are guidelines. I asked when this rule started and she stated July 2017. Never did I recieve any mailing on this. Their seems to be a lot of seniors that go here, I wonder how many of them, they screwed out of 30$. 1 week aftee I had my office visit with Dr. Richards, I received a letter from her stating, she no longer wants me as a patient. PRETTY CRAPPY, on their end. Its fine, their are plenty more doctors out their who run an honest practice.

When asking questions about the procedure he does refer you to the scheduler or staff but HEY, he's trying to do his job, ok? So he doesn't want to make small talk while he is WRITING DOWN PRECISE measurements for your eye. So WHAT. When he does a lens for your eye surgery it is permanent. If you are THAT interested in the procedure look it up on YOUTUBE and you can watch the whole thing. Dr. Kappil also did my wife's eye as well and she is doing great.

He was nice enough....but I did not have a good experience. Extremely long wait. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a doctors office. I'm sure the HMO's are paying up for the volume I saw going through here and other doctors won't take HMO's. I will just pony up the money next time. For the money and bad service... I lost at work regarding time...I would've broken out even. I left there with questions still. This all comes from being out of touch w simple business and healthcare IS A BUSINESS. No humanity here. Barely any of the staff smiled. This felt like I was in another country or free clinic. Not going back. They squeezed me in for a emergency appointment I was grateful..They almost scheduled me next month. If I would have waited a month to get this experience I would be really pissed. Someone needs to audit our medical system this is just nuts. I will now have to get another opinion because I just don't trust what just happened to here. I wanted answers for my ailment and now just have more questions.

I need this chatty-ness so that I am completely comfortable explaining what is going on with my vision. I don't like being reprimand even mildly by anyone. I fell totally comfortable with Dr. Bert. Once I had to explain how I was using three different sets of glasses to get through the day with my vision--I thought I would hear, "That's crazy why didn't you come in sooner...." But he simply said, "Let's see what's going on." It was actually easily explained by Dr. Bert. I don't have to wait every time, but when I do I don't mind it at all because I know he is being thorough with the patient in front of me. I have doctors that I feel don't really listen or don't take the time to get to the bottom of things. Because of insurance there are times when I have to see other eye specialist and Dr. Bert will ask what is going on and who the others are. He calmed my nerves and basically told me the others were good doctors and I would be in good hands. His office staff is awesome. When I needed to get in right away (once in an emergency) they contacted other patients to see if they were willing to switch. In the emergency the response was, "..we will wait for you to get here." Also true, they don't have the biggest selection of frames, but the ladies are great with this. They find fashionable glasses that will work with my picky taste and vision needs. They have even order frames for me to look at and try in the shop to see if they met my needs. It is odd trying to see how you will look in a new frame when you can't see. I basically have to rely on the ladies to help me out. I have never been unhappy with my frames. Good thing because I have to use them every day--ha I have even been know to sleep in them. And they've taken the time to get to my name and where I go to school, so it's a bit of personal touch that every time I go in, they ask how my family is and when I go back to classes. The office itself looks a bit outdated. I'm not sure if this really matters to me though. It's actually kind of cool - all of their posters and advertisements are from 2000 or earlier, it seems. Kind of a '90s vintage feel. Dr. Irslinger is so chatty. It's great to be able to talk to him, but this means that your appointment will always be at least 30 minutes late, so plan for that! I always try to get the first appointment of the day at 9:00am to avoid this, but he's usually late getting to work too. He's really intelligent, and we have a lot to talk about, because he also went to school "out East." Their frame selection is pretty poor. I'd guess that they only have about 150 total to choose from. I haven't had a problem selecting frames from there in the past, because they do carry a lot of nice brands (Izod, Versace, etc.). This is actually the first year that I've gotten frames from an external source (Warby Parker!). I thought they would give me a hard time for not buying frames from them, but they were actually great about it. They had no problem just giving me all the prescription info I needed, and even thought that Warby Parker was a really cool concept. I definitely recommend trying them out for your eye doc needs.

Front desk ignores you if they are dealing with a different customer. No "be with you in a minute" - clearly multi-tasking is not a strength. So rude and such an awful experience that the doctor has now lost 3 patients as a result.
