I've been to a few strip joints in my entire life and it's a miracle how this place stays open. It's poorly ran and it has the most absolute awful staff. The area is absolutely run down and I thought the strip club off 94 at the frontage road with all the potholes was awful! This one takes the cake! 0 stars for this shit hole! We thought since they opened @ 2pm there would be women there when she showed up @ 5:30 pm. That was a huge negative! It was demanded we pay a $5 cover to get in and once we arrived there was no women there. When asked why we had to pay a $5 cover charge we were told because it was a gentleman club! As far as I am concerned gentleman clubs are lame if there if there isn't women dancing! So as we are talking the security guard who is about 9 days from being in the grave he asks us not to give him a hard time! Ummm Dude you are security and collecting $ from us to get in. As 14 of us on a bachelor party are leaving because after 40 min not one women had arrived to say hello or get on stage the owner shows up. I plead my case as to why we should not have to pay a cover charge with since there were no women there. He basically said thanks for the money and to get fucked! He is a piece of shit as well just like the night club he owns! All 14 of us read the YELP reviews and knew we were going to a shit hole and we were ready for it, we were ready for the disgusting workers that may be there attempting to make money, but we were not ready to see anyone!!!!! read more

I'm going to be extremely honest about The Cellar Gentlemen's Club. I'm going to list the good things about this club then I'm going to list the bad things about this club. The good thing about this club is that their security make sure that the dancers are safe. The security even watches the dancers as they drive away from the parking lot. Another good thing about this club is that this club teaches you how to hustle which is extremely important. If your blessed enough to get into a gentlemens club that you can profit from you can make lots of money by knowing how to talk to customers, & putting on a good show. Their are very few customers that come into The Cellar so when the club finally gets a few customers you have to try to get dances from the customer to pay that extremely high house fee off that the dancers have to pay to work there. Now I have a list of things that is so wrong with The Cellar Gentlemen's Club establishment, & here it goes!!! (1). The house fee to work at The Cellar is way too high... Considering they barely have any business. The house fee is $70 on the weekends. (Even in popular bikini bars the house fee is only $30 to $40 throughout the entire week. So to pay a establishment $70 that doesn't get more then 15 customers a day is absolutely ridiculous) (2). You have to pay the house fee up front or you can't work there. (Most bikini bars, and Gentlemen's Clubs let all the girls pay there house fee at the end of the night) (3). The dancers are pressured to ask for dances & drinks, and the dancers do not profit off of those high $10.00 drinks that the club makes off of the few customers that they do get. (4). Usually the dancers get pissed when they see a new dancer, bc its so hard to make money in The Cellar, bc of the lack of clientele. This plus size black dancer from indianapolis wasn't nice to me, but I didn't get made at her, bc i could understand her fustration it's not easy to make money in The Cellar. (5). The club will let anyone work who can pay them there house fee... Which is awful considering they have very little to hardly no clientele. (Most popular bikini bars, & clubs will not even let that many girls work if they are having a slow night. (6). You have to put your own money in the juke box to listen to music. So if you're broke your basically just sitting around board hoping that a customer finally comes in. (7). The club doesn't advertise so they usually have local customers that just come to drink. (8). You have to stay for a full shift even if their are dancers their, & you didn't make any money. (I can't believe this club has a strict rule like that when the dancers are not making any money this club really has some nerve for that rule lol) (9). The club looks extremely run down, and they need to fix The Cellar up a little better so they can get some customers. They also need to advertise, & run some drink specials. The customers are always complaining about the drink prices. (10). The Cellar tries to make the dancers charge for everything... Even though the club gets their house fee from the dancers up front. (Most bikini bars, and Gentlemen Clubs are satisfied with the dancers just as long as the dancers gives them there house fee for working their, and isn't doing anything out of line that will make the club look bad. The Cellar should only be used as a practice club for newbie dancers. The club teaches you how to hustle, because they barely get any clientele so when they finally do get a customer you have to run over to the customer, and start begging for a dance or a drink for the Gentlemen's Club. If you're a newbie you should learn the game from the dancers that already work there then you should take those hustling skills to another club that you can actually profit from, because The Cellar has nothing to offer there dancers at all. The cover is not expensive, the bartender Kim was extremely nice. The dancers did not hound me or my wife, they talked to us and made us feel very comfortable. Idk why this place got bad reviews, honestly I been to many strip clubs and although they might be way nicer they are not intimate like this one. I would definitely go back and recommend this place, two reasons why I didn't give this place 6 stars one because they don't allow you on Yelp and two because the drinks here are expensive. Before we can really get into the magical world known as "the cellar" or "le cellar of Joliet" we must first discuss the location, obviously as stated it is in the city limits of Joliet, but knowing how to get people in the door is half the battle for any well respected establishment but especially true for a gentlemans club. The mad geniuses that own this particular club made the wise decision of buying a building that is a mere 1/2 mile from republic services waste management. Talk about resale value! But like I said when starting a business your first second and third thought need to be location location location. The elegant time you will enjoy starts as you enter the door, for a mere $5 (what a deal!) you will be allowed to enter the establishment that houses these exotic women that you thought only existed in folklore. At this point some patrons would point out, rather childishly, there being a few things "off" with this place, but I assure you, like an exotic reptile you must sometimes look past the flaws on the outside to a more beautiful inside of both the women there and the establishment. While some would point out that most professional dancers weigh less than 250 pounds the fine owners of this club do not discriminate and help struggling crack and meth addicts get back on their feet with a steady paying job doing what they probably grew up wanting to do their whole lives, just dance. It's also a fortunate situation for these women as they will need the money for doctors bills to treat the tall cocktail of various venereal diseases multiplying in their womb region. Again talk about great owners. For a mere $10 you can get ur self a watered down martini (don't want to drink too much anyhow!) and for another $10 you can buy one of these gorgeous ladies a drink as well, another $30 and you can probably get any drug that your body is craving at that moment, share that with one of those ladies and add another $40 and someone will take you to the "champagne room" and treat you to the time of your life, all while an African American bouncer watches on a black and white monitor to make sure you both are safe and behaving properly. After being hassled/ waited on for a few more rounds of delicious cocktails you may leave, but don't worry someone will walk you to your car, and that's just a courtesy not because anyone has ever been robbed on the east side of Joliet. I give this place five stars, but that's only cause I can't give one hundred stars! read more

if i could give this place no stars, i would.. whats a strip club when the strippers don't strip..? if the law requires you to wear pasties, you should have more on to take off and make more of a show out of it.. and dancers should never wear control-top (spanx) underwear while on stage or while trying to hustle guys.. its not sexy.. the one good thing i have to say is the dancers we're friendly. the drinks were way over-priced, $8 for a vodka and grapefruit, $6 for a glass of water.. we went on a fridaynight got there around 1230am and there was only 3 dancers. none of these chicks had pole work, or many moves for that matter.. if you can't pack a strip club on a fridaynight, you're not doing it right don't waste your singles here, its sooooooo not worth it.. i haven't read a good review on any other site for this place, i just wish i would've checked it out online first.. hindsight is always 20/20.. read more

Absolutely no care for patrons. My husband was denied being served, which is fine and up to the bar's discretion, but was then kicked out of the bar with a dead phone and not given the chance to call a ride. He waited outside for approximately 40 minutes before a cab was called for him. He did not want to pay for a cab, but was not allowed to call his own ride. They also wrote down his information from his ID, which I was very uncomfortable to hear. Is this a practice they have with all patrons? Asking for IDs and then taking down the information without permission? I do not want strangers having my address or leaving it lying around their establishment. When I called to see what happene (because my husband was obviously intoxicated and upset, and I wanted to hear both sides), the owner and her employee were rude and confrontational, unable to give me a straight answer, cutting me off, swearing at me, and ultimately hanging up on me. TWICE. If this is how they run their business, I'm not surprised by their other negative reviews, but I am surprised they are still in business. read more
