I love The Cat's Inn! I've been taking my persian here since 2021. I take him in twice a year to get a haircut. Haircuts also include a bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning. It's difficult for me to cut his nails so I really appreciate them doing it. They also clean his nostrils which can get runny. I give him gabapentin before dropping him off to make it a little easier for the staff since he can get grumpy (see report card). Drop off time for grooming is 8:30-10a on weekdays and their prices are clear on their website. They verbally confirm the services that are going to be received at the time of drop off. During his most recent visit, I kept his hair long and he got the defluff combo (tummy and sanitary shave) and a bath. They did a great job brushing him out and he didn't have any mats or tangles when I picked him up. He was soft, clean, and smelled like a watermelon. Each time I've been here, the facility has always smelled and looked clean. In the lobby, one of the play areas is visible so it's nice to watch the cat(s) in there while I'm waiting to be helped. They also have a shop cat, Sophie, who is so cute and friendly and just chills in the lobby. I've only ever taken my cat here for grooming, but if I had to board him I would 100% trust them to take care of him. The staff is always friendly. Thank you guys! read more

I inadvertently arrived 5 minutes before closing, but instead of saying "sorry, we can't clip your cat nails as we are closing soon", they clipped her nails, brushed her, and even cleaned up her panty shave! I take my kitty "Baby" to the Cats' Inn when I travel and feel totally confident that she will be cared for and have fun! The themed rooms give her space to roam and enjoy and the suite provides space and a view because she loves to spend time embracing everything that's going on outdoors. My two cats stayed 4 nights here and had grooming. Setting up the reservation and dropping them off was an easy process, but I only received one update during their stay with pictures of both cats -- I wish there would've been more communication on that front. And the pick up times are at odd times on Wednesdays and Saturdays which made it a bit more difficult to plan around, especially if you're traveling out of town. As for grooming, I was happy they came back smelling great and they're coats looked beautiful. But they're nails were cut way too short for my comfort. I spoke with the groomer and she made a note on that for next time if I bring them back. Overall a very nice establishment and friendly employees. read more

We love The Cats' Inn! Our little guy stayed here for 5 nights in late December. I'm sure many fellow pet owners can relate to the uneasiness of leaving fuzzy family members in the hands of strangers, but The Cats' Inn feels like family too. The process for booking was extremely easy. I love that the prices are clearly laid out online -- there's nothing worse than surprise charges! We opted to have our cat groomed during his stay and was returned to us extra fluffy and smelling great. My husband had mentioned in passing that it was going to be our cat's birthday during his stay and the staff remembered. They sent us the sweetest email with a photo and mentioned giving him extra love on his birthday. The staff also sent us home with a cute goodie bag which included a magnetic framed photo of our cat. This place is fantastic! It's so hard to find a cat groomer. I spent hours trying to find a place to take my cat for a flea bath. Most places only do dogs. It so refreshing to have a spot that is exclusively for cats. I was able to call on a Saturday and bring him in within the next hour to have my cat get a flea bath. They were quick and extremely thorough. He came back smelling amazing. This place also had cat boarding. The rooms available for cats are so spacious and really a cats dream. Not to mention their rates are adorable. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone I know. read more

My indoor cats were so stressed when they got home they chewed up my bedroom screen and jumped out the window. Thank goodness I'm on the 1st floor. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! The way the staff treats its customers is absolutely insane. Picking arguments with clients, threatening to hold pets against your approval, if you are more than 5mins late. EVEN IF YOU HAD OTHER ARRANGEMENTS CONFIRMED WITH THEM PRIOR. The most expensive accommodation in the Bay Area with a staff whose service rivals Walmart and the dmv combined. The owners apparently know customers are being mistreated and don't care. I HAD ALREADY ARRANGED A LATER PICKUP. Then the day of on my flight they start changing my pick up arrangements while I'm boarding to come home, same day and threaten to keep my cats. The employees are wildly rude and arrogant, completely unchecked. I don't trust them with my animals. Awful experience that costed me $1100.00. Then the girl VICTORIA who started all the issues with me. While I informed her I was under medication, as I had to undergo surgery. She hid in the back when I came to pick up my cats. The way they treat customers, and how stressed my babies were, it's not a good place, not good people. The staff is untrained, immature, inexperienced and incompetent. They will not hesitate to start issues or try to keep your pets to make more money for additional stays. Try to call them, you won't be able to get anyone on the phone. Bad business practices, no ethics, no integrity. Don't support businesses who don't care about you or your pets. There's tons of bad reviews of this place for a reason. read more

We had our cat stay for a week here and they were great with him. I was very nervous because I've never boarded my cat before and he has some health issues, so I was worried he would be stressed and scared. I called every day and the staff was nice enough to keep me updated on my cat and how he was doing. He also is not a very social cat so they had options for him to have solo play time which I appreciated. They also sent me pictures which made me more at ease. It looked like my cat had a great, comfortable stay and was well taken care of. He also was groomed and came back home nice and clean and healthy. I'm very thankful for the staff being friendly and patient with both me (calling every day) and with my shy cat. They are also very reasonably priced as well. Terrible experience ever. Keynote to save people's time: they forced me to pay$125(the price on their website is $75) otherwise they don't give me back my cat. First, the manager promised they will gave me a call when the grooming is finished. But then she totally forget about calling me until 5:03 pm. She called me at 5:03 and told me that they are closing. So I have to pick up the cat as soon as possible or I'll need to board the cat at their place with $40 extra cost. Then, on their website they showed the fee was $75 for short hair cat and when I paid for the bill they charged me $125 dollars which I had no idea when I sent my cat here. (They said for some "extra time spend on my cat" ). I argued that I didn't know this before I came then they asked me to get out of their 'private property' and said 'We won't release your cat unless you pay the 125 dollars. So will you pay it or not?". I attached the contract they painted for me in the review. It shows they can charge you any extra fee they want. So please be careful about the extra charge of this place. If you do want to send your cat to this place be notice that there may be some extra fee and some unfriendly people. read more

My husband and I will FOREVER be grateful for The Cats' Inn! Earlier this week, my animal loving husband spotted a kitten on the express lane on 880 while in rush hour traffic going to work and he rushed over to save the kitten! He rushed him to SAGE for a checkup and they told us he has fleas, worms, but otherwise no broken limbs. So my husband left with dewormers and stopped by a Pet Express after to get everything he needed to give this kitty a bath and get all the fleas out! Sadly, after two baths, he wasn't able to get every darn flea out. Kitty was also only about 4 weeks old and 1 lb so we couldn't use any chemicals like Capstar for the fleas. This is all so new to us - we've never owned a cat, let alone a 4 week old one, or dealt with fleas. My husband called a few grooming shops around the area. Most didn't pick up and a few said they couldn't help with a flea bath. Then my husband contacted The Cats' Inn and they made time to help us without hesitation! So my husband left work ASAP to take kitty over to the groomers and he mentioned they were the sweetest and most caring people! Since they weren't able to use any chemicals, they gave him a dawn bath and really took their time with him to get every pesky flea out! Hearing about my husband's experience with The Cats' Inn made me want to write a well deserved review for them. Thank you so much for helping us save this 4 week old baby kitten! I've only brought my cat into a professional groomer once, and it was not a great experience. I was hesitant, but this time I called a cat-only vet (Coastal Cat Clinic) to ask for a referral to a cat only groomer and they recommended the Cat's Inn. I have a Neva Masquerade Siberian Forest Cat with an incredibly beautiful but challenging coat. I pride myself on keeping him free of mats, but he looked a bit dingy. Then he started to have a hairball problem. The Cats Inn had availability within two days, which is surprising to me as other groomers seem to want to schedule weeks to months out. I dropped him off at nine in the morning. I was surprised by how busy they were but that actually impressed me, and made me think they really are trusted by the community. I picked him up at 12:30. He was still a little damp, but that's to be expected as he's very furry, and does not like the dryer. They used a oatmeal leave-in conditioner to comb through all his fur including the undercoat. He looked like he had lost 5 pounds of fur! When he was fully dry, I got to see how absolutely gorgeous he looks. They did such a good job. He's glossy and soft. He no longer looks poofy or dingy. All bad with them, I left my cat for the vacations in December and I had to confirm the stay twice, they are very disorganized with the mails and documents, by that time I sent all the vaccines up to date, last week we took him to bathe and they asked again for the documents of vaccines and they already had them from the other time, they said that one vaccine was expired and we had it applied before leaving him for our vacation. When my husband picked up the cat, the person in charge told him that the next time we took him for a bath, we should also bring medicine to calm him down or put him to sleep! I brought my cat here a few months ago and he came back with bite marks all over his head and fleas! very nice facility but did my poor neo so wrong patches of hair were coming out and he had bloody cuts all on his abdominal region in addition to having a tuna food smell in his fur and feces stuck to his bottom and rear skin. My worst nightmare happened and my indoor only kitty somehow got fleas. I freaked out and had no idea how I was going to tackle this problem alone, especially because she has long thick fur! I found Cat's Inn on google and immediately called and had her booked for the next day. I booked her for a lion cut, flea bath, and a Capstar pill. I also brought my own Advantage flea treatment that they put on her at no extra cost. She came home with the cutest new cut, trimmed claws, smelling good and flea free! She was super chill and in a good mood when we got home so I know they treated her well. Incredibly confusing. You check in, give them contact info and they don't use it. You tell them what you want for your cat, they don't do it but do other things then charge you for it since they couldn't do the thing you asked for. Then call you and say things went fine then you arrive and something completely different happened. This has happened a few times, waste of $200. read more

I've taken my cat here several times now for stays of varying lengths, from a few days up to a couple of weeks. I really can't recommend them enough. Everyone I've interacted with has been very friendly and helpful. The facility itself is nice and spacious (they moved into a bigger building a while back), and the accommodations for the cats, at least the ones I've seen, are great. A couple of things I really like - if you're local to them and can't make it to drop off or pick up your cat, they have a taxi service. It costs extra, of course, but they'll come right to you. I've used that service twice and they're great. And they send you email updates every few days, including pictures of your cat and notes on how they're doing. They're also cool with some special requests. Most recently, I was going to pick up my cat and take him straight to the vet for a checkup and the vet wanted a stool sample, so the folks at The Cat's Inn obliged and collected one that morning before I got there, which was awesome. Prices are reasonable - $30 a day for single cat accommodations, $45 for a somewhat larger room with a street view window, and on up for larger and multi-cat rooms. They have several play rooms the cats can use throughout the day, and they do allow some visitors. If you're in the Belmont/San Mateo area and need a place to board your cat, I highly recommend The Cat's Inn. read more

Seriously love my cat's lions cut. Backstory. Our vet did a "panty shave" last year because of hygiene issues. I tried to have them do it again and they refused to do it unless he was medicated. Well...he wouldn't take his medication no matter what I tried. So they referred us to The Cats' Inn. The whole process was easy. I signed up online and every step was taken care of before we arrived, including waivers and arrangements for a mandatory vaccination he was missing. Fast forward to today. Check in was a breeze. I told the ladies up front to try to at least do the panty shave. Anything else would be gravy because I know how ornery my cat can get. To my surprise, they managed to get the whole nine yards done, though we have established that he is never to get a water bath. Duly noted. 10/10 would do again! read more

Also once I sat lingering awaiting a call for pickup and it never came, they forgot to call. Despite this... I give the place 5 stars because I trust them with my cat. That means more to me than anything. I have a fragile kitty, and every time i bring her home after a grooming she is all happy and zoomy. My IN person communication with them has been great. If I could give this place a -1 score, I would. My cat is finally recuperating from her stay with them. She had diarrhea and no hair left on her underside when I picked her up. The Lead (don't know why they don't use names on emails -- maybe a way to not take responsibility) sent an email 5 days after I left on my trip overseas to say that my cat was constipated and that they gave her Miralax. I was worried about her so sent a return email and heard nothing back for more than a week. I asked a friend to check on her and she called them but no answer (may have been closed), so she drove there, hoping to find someone around. There was an employee in the back smoking and she asked if she could see her but he said no, but knew she was fine. I finally got a return email a couple days before coming home with pictures of my poor cat who had lost fur from her chest along her stomach to her rear legs. The Lead apologized for the late reply and said they were training personnel so lost the email thread. When I picked up my cat, they said they just noticed her hair loss right before emailing me. Seemed like a lot of missing hair to suddenly notice. Then they added 3 baths at $75 each to my bill because they said she urinated herself that many times and gave me the sage advice to take her to the vet. This was clearly the wrong environment for my cat (she did o.k. at another cat kennel that closed during Covid) and it wasn't helped by the unobservant and incommunicative staff. I had a good experience here a few years ago but things have changed there for boarding. read more
