She was late to the meet and greet because she mixed up appointments (not terrible, it happens), she didn't send me daily updates, so I got worried and had to ask my brother to reach out to her on two separate occasions which stressed me out. Lastly, she kept my house key for months. I emailed twice to ask for the key back and I didn't get a response to either email. I contacted Jaime and she was very prompt and got it resolved immediately. I love my pet like a family member, which makes me anxious when I have to leave her. If you're a person who doesn't need daily updates while away on vacation, you'd probably be fine with the second sitter. After that experience, I chose to work with a different company.

If you are enrolled in daycare, they also offer boarding, and are generally pretty flexible and accommodating, though space is definitely limited. I highly recommend Ruff Life. I know that dog school has like 5 locations and makes a nice instagram feed, but the friendliness and flexibility of the ruff life staff really sets them apart. They always recognize me (and splinter) and dropping off and picking up is so seamless.

Barkadelphia is the best, hands down!…read more I struggled with leaving my dog at a few doggie daycares before I found Barkadelphia because it felt like the supervision was low and I didn't like to see my dog picked on by more aggressive dogs. Barkadelphia is so on top of it! There is always someone playing with and monitoring so that the dogs can play safely. All dogs are pre-screened before they are admitted so you know that your dog is going to have fun playing with equally friendly dogs. I love that they post pictures throughout the day to instagram so I can see what my fur baby is up to. I know when I leave my dog here she's in good hands. Melissa took the puppy into her own home while she scoured the area for the owners. I was impressed from the start. That was before I had a dog of my own. A few months later, I bought a 12 week old Shar Pei puppy, Lola. She was scared to death of the city noises at first. Although she loved dogs, she was (and still is) somewhat shy around people. She never likes to be left alone, despises crates and she simply goes into a panic attack whenever I leave. I have gone through a series of conditioning exercises to calm her nerves. I reached out to Melissa to see if she would help me with the separation anxiety by coming to get her once every week or so to go for a walk with someone other than me. She not only took Lola for walks over the next few months, but she would come by the patio to say hi to her when she'd pass by on her other dog walks. Lola loves dogs, and she started to become very excited whenever Melissa would come around. In fact, she could sense when Melissa was in the area before I'd even see her. I'd know when I'd see her standing up on the fence with her tail wagging and Melissa would show up about 30 seconds later. Fast forward to today. Lola just turned a year old. Melissa is highly dependable and goes the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. She watched Lola on many occasions in our home including a week when we were out of town for a family wedding. Lola absolutely loves Melissa, and I couldn't feel more comfortable with anyone else taking care of her, especially with the sensitive anxiety issues. Highly recommended!!
