I absolutely love Dr Sobel and so do my Ragdolls. She is very loving with my babies and very informative with me. I am a very very picky cat mom and I trust her. She is also the most reasonably priced in the Southern Tier. It's worth the drive to their new location.

On Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:40 AM, I took my sweet boy Kane to Vestal Veterinary Hospital for a…read moreroutine check-up. He's always been sedated for nail trims -- something we've done before with no issues. They used a method they called the "door technique," where they pulled his leash through a door to corner him for the sedation shot. This time, they pulled way too hard. Kane was visibly distressed -- I told them, "You're strangling him" but they assumed he was tired from the shot. Right after they gave him the shot, Kane collapsed. It didn't look like sedation -- it looked like exhaustion. I said, "He's tired, you guys strangled him " but they brushed it off. Later, while he was sleeping, they proceeded with the check-up. He seemed to be asleep, even snoring. As the vet stepped out and the tech continued cleaning his ears, I saw something change. Kane took two deep breaths and went still. I asked, "Is he breathing?" The technician -- sitting right over him -- hadn't noticed. She checked his pulse, panicked, and called the Doctor. They performed CPR and gave him the reversal shot, but it was too late. They worked on him for about 15 minutes before telling us there was no pulse. We told them to stop Kane had already been through enough. Kane never had any issues with sedation before. What happened was preventable. They failed to listen, failed to monitor him, and failed to act quickly. We left that day without our best friend. Just a bill, and no written explanation of what went wrong, despite asking multiple times. The doctor said " if I would've known he was in distress before giving him the shot I would've never had him sedated. " they failed my baby. I'm sharing this because people need to know. Kane was more than a pet -- he was family he was our protector our best friend our little brother. He deserved better care and more attention. I will never forget what happened that day, and I hope this serves as a reminder to all pet owners: always advocate for your animals, even at the vet's office. Above is a post made by Kyndall Denise on Facebook. When I write this on 5/7/25 this was posted one day ago. Vestal Veterinarian Hospital responded to this story, apologizing, quite quickly. Something they also have done quickly is block everyone who have angry reacted to their Facebook post. If this doesnt speak on their character I don't know what else will, but maybe this next part will help some more. Pictured on the post is one of the staff members with her knee on dog after he has been chocked out and given anesthetic. Also video'd is three nurses administering the anesthetic. One chokes the dog out with a prong collar it looks like, something chain. In the video you can hear the dog struggling to breathe greatly and after the shot is administered and he is able to try to catch up on breath, his back legs kick out as he sprawls on the ground, still struggling to breath. Then to add the cherry on top is a receipt totaling to $1,261.90.

She's brilliant and has always gone above and beyond for my crew. I frequent surrounding specialty hospitals because I have complicated medical/special need's dogs. I appreciate Dr. B's understanding that it takes a village to support these special needs dogs and is always willing to collaborate with other vet professionals. I always find myself coming back for Dr. B's opinion and care. She is willing to seek alternative therapies and never bats an eye at a complicated case. I appreciate her years of experience, attention to detail and her commitment in staying up-to-date with vet med advancements. I think one of the most important things about her, is that she truly understands/trusts that you know your pet the best - she actually listens and always takes your opinion into consideration when seeking the best treatment options. She understands that each animal is an individual and there is no "one size fits all" when formulating her treatment plan. She loves to educate and will answer all of your questions in a kind, non-condescending way. When asking her questions/opinions, she is always direct and to the point, but never harsh in her answers. This review is long overdue. Dr. B has helped me through a lot of scary times... emergency surgeries, cancer treatments, kidney failure, a rare urinary disorder, endocrine disorders, chronic skin issues and respiratory diseases on top of routine vaccines, bloodwork and dentals. Her scope of knowledge is wide and our area is lucky to have her as a resource. Her heart is genuine and she truly cares for each of her patients like she would her own. Thank you, Dr. B! We love you lots!!

The Leptospirosis vaccine was administered by Dr. Beaulieu and she did not document this or report it until 02/11/2026 after I raised hell. I just got off the phone with Merck and the gentleman told me they just called two hours ago to report it. I was under the impression this was taken care off until I got in touch with Dickin and found out it had not. Not one professional in that office thought to raise their voice and do the right thing until I demanded it be done. Not even yesterday either when I was upset and standing up Skye and the other animals that may have had an adverse reaction. So how many got left unreported? This is frightening and unethical. My dog was perfectly healthy before I was talked into this garbage. She was even referred to a neurologist at Cornell. No one thought we should be an advocate for our animals. No STARS

The only reason he got the job is because his father, Dr. H, and his mother, Debbie, own the practice. That's nepotism right there. At least, some of the nurses, have more empathy and compassion for the pets and their owners, than Dr. Horowitz and his son, Joshua. Like most doctors, they already have one foot out the door. On our latest visit, Joshua, only saw our dog for barely even 5 minutes. Listened to his heart and touched him in a few spots and then ordered some tests and out the door he went. Didn't care to listen to what was going on with our pet and was actually even rude. I considered making a complaint to the office manager but it's useless, since as mentioned above, his father and mother own the practice. Of course, they will side with their own son. Dr Joshua is also not very knowledgeable. When asked, what was wrong with our dog, he answers it could be multiple things. Even we knew that. Granted, yes it's hard to discern without doing some comprehensive tests but at least show some compassion and don't berate the pet owners and take some time to listen to the concerns of the pet owners. But I guess nowadays they'll let anybody become vets. All in all, if I could leave negative stars, I would have.

If you're looking for a good vet in the area, Hooper Road in endwell or BAC on riverside drive. Stay clear this place. Oh and I forgot to mention when I started taking my dog to his new vet, She informed me all the shots they told me I needed at this place were not necessary. Just more proof, all they care about is money. They try to get as many clients in on a day And if you have any questions or concerns They make it very clear, they want you in and out.! We were told he would be sent to the crematory Friday morning, March 28, 2025 and that we could pick up his ashes today, April 1, 2025. Today, April 1, 2025 we were told that his body had just been sent to the crematory due to some alleged miscommunication with the crematory and it would be another week before we could pick up his ashes. If this is some sick April Fool's day joke, I AM NOT AMUSED! I find it unbelievable that no one noticed on Friday March 28 that there was still one deceased cat left behind. No one noticed this on Monday, March 31. Yet amazingly today, the day my husband and I were told we could pick up our baby's remains someone finally noticed he wasn't sent when he was suppose to be sent. Amazingly his remains were sent today - and we will be able to pick up the remains in another week. Funny, if he had been sent down on Friday his remains would have been available in 5 days. Because he was allegedly sent down today, it is 7 days. Now I seriously doubt if I will receive his ashes or if any ashes I receive are actually his. I was lied to twice when I was told that I could pick up his remains on Tuesday April 1, 2025. The pain and suffering this has caused me is indescribable. Not only did I lose my beloved cat of 14 years, but now I will never know if (or maybe I should say when) I receive the remains if they are really Tommy's ashes. Rest assured I will NEVER bring an animal to these liars again. I will also strongly recommend that ALL my friends with animals NEVER patronize this place. I paid good money to have my baby cremated. And I was lied to. Now I don't even know if I will ever get HIS ashes or if it will be some other animals ashes. Thanks so much for adding to my grief and pain with your incompetent service.
