I am always a bit leery when it comes to tax services. I never know if I am getting taken advantage of because I am a layperson when it comes to this sort of thing. I have primarily done my own taxes until recent years, as they were straight forward. But I am more leery of the old go to, (which I have never been) H&R block, so I hopped on Yelp and here we are. I started emailing with the office probably in early February to try to get a cost assessment for services, I have 1099's this year and Turbo Tax was not helping me decipher them. Danielle emailed me back promptly and eased my apprehension about 'the difficulty' of my taxes. I made the appointment in early February for late March. I arrived, was offered tea or coffee, had a nice exchange with the receptionist and in I went. The whole exchange took maybe an hour. Danielle was/is very kind and did a nice job of explaining the various itemizations (the few I had) and gave me some advice for next year's taxes as well. It was a very positive experience for me. I thought because I was going into a 'real' firm (as opposed to a seasonal chop shop like H&R Block) they would have little time or attention for me as I am just one single woman who doesn't make enough to bat an eye about, but, they were warm attentive and allayed my fears. I do not post Yelp reviews very often and typically only positive reviews because it is so easy to bad mouth a company for one isolated poor experience. So take that for what it is worth. A friend referred me to Brian about five years ago, and I'm happy he did. Brian is a nice guy, and really knows his business. He's thorough, and I like that fact that he's technologically savvy, so we can do everything via computer. I now live in Las Vegas, but don't have to find someone new because he's licensed through the IRS and can do taxes for anyone. It's been a big help because we had a business in Illinois, then California, and now Nevada, and he knows how to handle them all. I can't say it's fun doing my taxes, but Brian certainly makes it less painful. He has a great staff as well. I did a review in 2014, and it still holds true!
