Taariyq the owner came out for an estimate a few months ago, he was on time (despite a snow storm) and was quick with his communication. Ultimately we decided to go with Elite Flooring because of the price. Let me tell you the quality of job they do is worth every penny. They pay very close attention to all detail and work extremely hard to make sure the work is completed on time. These are the types of businesses you have no qualms about giving your business to. I know for a fact that I will be using them again for some future flooring work I need to get done around the house. If you are looking for flooring work, look no further than this place. They were awesome to work with and we couldn't be happier with the work they did!

How lucky were we?!? If you're in the market for any flooring work, it is worth reading on to find…read moreout. Jim and Andrea were the last company to give us a quote for a fairly complex floor refinish/install and thank goodness for our perseverance. Our pre-finished builder grade Bruce hardwood had a pretty good bevel, multiple spots on the floors were worn through the finish from previous owners' dogs, there was some inconsistency with the install that occurred 20 years ago when the house was built, not to mention water damage and we wanted to add hardwood where there was carpet in the family room. We were beginning to lose hope with previous 4 quotes ranging from "we can do it, but..." to a disheartening quote from a well known local company that is considered high standard in this area. I'll name drop simply because others feel compelled to name drop on their critical reviews. My quote from Ziggy's consisted of Ziggy wandering into my open garage and knocking not at my front door, but at my garage door. It was him coming in and basically saying I can't do anything you're asking for. He said, "you can't sand that bevel out, you'll end up with uneven finish and splinters, it will splinter. I've been doing this for 30 years and I teach this stuff. You can't sand out that bevel." He said this even as the other three quotes to this point indicated it was absolutely possible. "You won't be able to make the new floors look like they belong with the old floors." Also not true. Aside from spending half of the quote touting his credentials, Ziggy was also very dismissive of anything we had in mind and simply told us what he envisioned with our floors; it felt as though he didn't listen at all and was only quoting us for what he was willing to do. 10 min after his arrival, he was gone and we were on to the next...we were frustrated because we were being told by one professional who had good ratings that it was impossible to complete this job and then by three other companies that they wouldn't be able to do what we were asking...but could do it half ass for x amount. Boy, were they ALL wrong. Jim and Andrea came into our home with a keen eye and plenty of recommendations for a perfect finish and they quoted us to ensure the floor was done correctly. They were here for about 45 minutes to really get a feel for what it was we wanted to accomplish and to visualize it with us. It wasn't a matter of IF we wanted it done correctly or knew enough to ensure we asked about having it done correctly, they simply said "we can do anything you want, but this is how you do what you're asking for." They were very reassuring that our situation was not unique as others had made us feel. Jim, who I learned is a MASTER in his field and actively trains his peers (he received multiple phone calls while on our job from other flooring professionals with text pictures asking how he would properly complete a job and he even lent tools to another peer who had a tool break in the field) in this field, not simply high school wood shop. He did a GREAT job explaining the process both before and during the refinishing/install process. I also found that although he doesn't like to brag about his education and training, he has more cumulative hours on very specific finishing methods than most do on flooring in general (upwards of 16k hours). Couple all of this expertise with the fact that we didn't have to move out of our house for a week or more and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our floors have been finished for over a month now and I have recommended Jim and Andrea by mouth to close friends in the market for floor refinishing. It took them coming over once to see our floors to convince them to give Jim and Andrea a call. If you're getting frustrated with quotes that you've been given or you've had a bad experience with a nightmare refinish, give them a call! I can't recommend them highly enough. See before and afters below (no splinters and the shadow lines prove it's perfectly even!).

He huffed and puffed about cc'ing a second email so god knows what he would be like on the job if he had to do something mildly inconvenient. I was completely baffled how this man turned into a child before my very eyes." All of the contractors I've dealt with with the exception of Beauty Walls - have enjoyed back and forth communication, and being very communicative and clear. Sviat literally told us "I'm not in the communications department" on one of his bad days where he was 'inconvenienced' by having to respond to our emails and requests. He rage deleted our project from his system, and when we asked him about it he said that he let his emotions get the best of him and shouldn't have done it in the moment (see more later). Dealing with him and his business delayed our move in date by a month. A prime example of communications with him will be ie - send email Monday, no reply, we follow up Wednesday, then he replies, then we respond within minutes to hours, and have to follow up again Friday for an update. We were going to try to make it work with him - since he did our floors for another property many years ago and went without hiccup. He emailed us (this is copy and pasted: " I made a mistake deleting that estimate, I started again and I'm not able to overcome my emotions. Sorry I can't do your floors. There are good companies on Yelp.com or Angi.com with trustful reviews. We can do painting for you after the floors are done" I would recommend this business if you are ok dealing with this unprofessionalism and childlike behavior As soon as we moved onto quotes from 2 other businesses, WOW night and day. Very communicative, no babysitting and having to follow up for responses, and even more - wow no complaining about having to communicate?! Bonkers.
