Having been in the valley a long time I hadn't been there in many years but it's a simple assessment: Security & male staff were unpleasant (meaning patrons harassing other customers because they were dressed nicer and were spending more money didn't bother them). Talent 4-6 range. Drink service 6 range (meaning understaffed and poured terrible drinks so not the waitresses). Upsell game from the 4-6 range girls was weak and laughable. So I visited this place not too long ago with a guy friend, and I must say, it was a lot better than our first stop for the day (Kiss Cabaret, which I will have reviewed after I finish this one!). The glowing carpet was a constant attention grabber for me and also how extremely well lit the place was, this was probably the first time I've gone in a club and not broke my neck from falling over a table or chair hidden in the darkness! They played good music and the girls were pretty nice, they don't give you the stink-eye as you watch them dance without ever tipping them. And definitely more approachable than some of the other up-scale clubs, that I have heard of and seen from personal experience. Visited this club while on a trip to AZ for a Niners game; from LA. Not a very diverse or diversity friendly club my boyfriend and I and another couple (who all happen to be African American) we followed around by the security and the $100 bill we paid for drinks and tips with was passed around several times to validate it's validity. A few dancers did an excellent job with pole dancing and tricks but the music wasn't really good (not that we needed to hear rap or hip hop) mostly old rock music and no name house music. Husband and I were out with some friends on Saturday night and decided to hit this place up around 9pm. When we rolled in we were SHOCKED at the $5 cover charge! Who else has it so cheap???? The place was very clean and looked like two stages and two VIP rooms. In my opinion not enough dancers but it could have been the holiday. I have such a different perspective on this place. I used to babysit for one of the dancers. She was quite nice. And apparently very flexible. And sometimes when she would pay in cash, it would be interesting to think about where that money had come from - both the person, and potentially where on her body. I've only been once and that was pretty much enough. The guys I used to work with loved this place. They felt like it was one of the few places where they might actually have a chance with some of these girls, and that made the whole process much more exciting. If there is such thing as your "neighborhood" strip club, than this is it. Just like a neighborhood bar, it's not the prettiest one in town, it may not have all the bells and whistles, but you can get comfortable there, and you just might become a regular. After drinking all day at two Memorial Day parties we ended up here around 8pm (with my girlfriend in tow). Having been to few strip clubs, my first impression was "what a freaking dump". The Candy Store has charm though, and by the end of the night I actually liked the place - it's the strip club equivalent of a dive bar. The place is kind of small but there were plenty of good places to sit. I'll return for the $5 drinks and $5 lap dances. It was cold outside and we were waiting in the lobby for our other girlfriends to arrive and the older bouncer with the receding hairline said if you dont pay get the F out. My friend told him it's cold outside can you give is a few minutes our friends are on their way. He continued to be very abrasive and rude. I refuse to be intimidated by anyone let alone be disrespected. The irony of it all is this is an establishment composed of mainly women and yes I understand the clientel may be males the women that choose to come into this environment spend more money then the males do! As a previous bar and restaurant owner customer service is of the utmost importance. Many of my friends are single successful women and I feel the owner or owners of the candy store have the right to know that this disrespectful bouncer cost the owner hundreds if not thousands of of dollars by disrespecting patrons that hes does not know and has no knowledge of their financial situations and how much money each individual is willing to spend and was absolutely out of line. The bouncers have zero understanding of this concept because when an establishment loses money they are not effected by it. Only the owners is. This is not a place I would normally go to but because one of my friends wanted to go for her Birthday I was going to treat her and 7 of my other girlfriends to a night of fun. Unfortunately the candy store will not see any of my hard earned money nor should you spend your hard earned money here or spend your money in a establishment that has no respect for the owners livelihood. From Aug 31 2011. Cover is $5. The place is small and is well lit. You can see all away across the club and watch lap dances if that is your thing. Lap dances are $5 but the girls are not allowed to sit on your lap to ask for the dance. They can sit next to you only. The entrance fee to the VIP room is $20 to get your name on a list. Then it's $20 a song in a small (6 mini couches) closed area. The girls are much, much more intimate in the VIP then on the floor :) The music is varied depending on the dancer.
