I came across the candlemakers store a few days ago while trying to find some super obscure scents like, gasoline and dirt, etc... Well I came here to find reviews and saw all these terrible reviews which made sense since the prices are so damn cheap. The 1oz bottles are mostly 2.99 at the time of writing as apposed to the 6.99 for "essential oils" on amazon. So I figured yeah its too good to be true. I almost didnt order until I found a video review on youtube with tons of positive comments. So i figured what the hell i'll order a few and if they suck then I wont order again. I picked eight scents which included : dragons blood, pepper, burnt rubber, race fuel, warm sweater, gun powder, and some random AF cologne. It was nice that for every three i ordered I got one free, I think that was the deal anyway, but they all had to be the same size which wasnt a big deal. The caveat I found was the shipping was pretty expensive I think it was about 15 dollars but I said what the hell and placed the order. No more than 2 say later, (today) I got the package. I went down expecting it to be something else I had ordered from another place and when I saw the label I was like holy sh... that was fast! So i quickly opened it to see what the results were. The bottles were tightly packed into an mailer. Here is a breakdown of the scents. The burnt rubber is so great, it actually smells accurate and lasts. I swatched all of them on some plain paper and left them for 5 hours to give me a good sense of what to expect. After the 5 hours this one still had a strong enough smell. Race fuel was great, it smells like they actually used some type of acetate or caustic substance, haha. I think that might be the case even because it fades super fast. I love it but wish it lasted. I dont have experience with this scent so maybe this is expected. Dragons blood was nice and clean but subtle, wish it were a bit stronger. I will try it in my diffuser. Warm sweater was nice but also a little faint. Gun powder was okay but smells mostly like cinnamon, dont think I would get it again. I will experiment with it and see if it changes on the skin or in mixes. The AF cologne was nice and smelled like actual cologne im not familiar with that brand of scents so i cant compare it but I like it and its quite strong. Exhaust has practically no smell, would not get again. Black pepper was the most accurate I have found, All of the black pepper I get on amazon has a sweet orange over powering scent. This one actually just smells like black pepper, My only complaint would be its a bit faint also. If they could kick it up a little that would be perfect. I know most of them sound kinda "MEH"... but for the intensity and accuracy of the burnt rubber im sold and cant wait to order more. I really like how quick they shipped but would like the option to pay 10 dollars less and wait a few more days. Overall Im actually really happy with the experience and plan to get more this week. It really excites me that they have so many obscure and niche scents that are hard to find. I felt compelled to leave this review because I dont feel like they deserve so many bad reviews, thats been my experience anyway. Oh and i put the sweater one in my diffuser and its really nice and strong. read more
