My mother, who lives in Barcelona, decided to come on a little holiday jaunt to London for an extended weekend, and I stayed with her in her choice of hotel. She booked a room with the group Derby Hotels, a company that she has worked with for years, and who have consistently provided comfort and style for a fraction of the price of other places of the same standard. We weren't disappointed. This place is elegant, central chic, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's a small place, but although the rooms are compact, the design is sleek and warm, resulting in a clean and bright feel. The Derby Hotels owner, Jordi Clos, who is an avid art collector and founder of the Museum of Egyptology in Barcelona, also displays some of his pieces here. For a double room, with continental breakfast included, expect to pay around £100. The hotel is equipped with meeting rooms, restaurant/bar and Gym and Sauna.

Stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Although checkin is at 2, the front desk staff was able to get me a room by 11am, which was nice after a long day of travel. The rooms are a bit small, but that is par for the course. Everything in the rooms is quite nice -- comfortable bed and pillows, nice amenities, fast wifi, etc. I did not really notice the noise like some other guests, although some banging and such could be hears by the cleaning staff in the morning (but, really, why stay in the hotel room until 10 or 11AM when you could be out exploring?) The breakfast is a bit overpriced for what you get, so I would recommend not doing that and going to one of the restaurants within walking distance. The hotel restaurant/bar is actually really tasty...burgers were the best thing I got. The hotel is in a great location, only a few minutes away from 2 tube stations and plenty of bus lines. It is also very easy to get to from the Paddington station if you take the Heathrow Express to get into the city. I was very impressed with the hotel and would definitely consider staying again.

Perhaps because I am a Diamond member, but in any case, the lady at check-in was super friendly and got me in my room right away. I was given an "upgrade" to a park view on the highest floor, which just allowed for a better view of the park, but wasn't incredibly necessary. The room was "small" compared to American standards, especially the bathroom, but it was spacious and clean compared to European standards! The bed and pillows were super soft and comfy, and the only thing that I was really missing was a safe. The cost for two nights was like staying at a decent hotel in NYC, but the service and cleanliness were well worth it for a stay in the heart of London. I also felt very safe walking in the nearby neighborhoods (near Hyde Park) at night.

Management should have informed us upon booking of this issue. Thankfully we were able to get refunds. If you are booking this hotel, check to ensure renovations and all work have been completed.

To begin, the staff at this hotel are phenomenal! When we checked in we were greeted by lovely doormen who helped us with our bags (and helped us get taxis throughout our stay). Upon check-in we realized that we accidentally booked the wrong checkout day... but the receptionists were able to extend our stay easily and without us having to move rooms which was a huge relief! The receptionists were very welcoming and were kind enough to give us a tour of the hotel before showing us to our room where they explained how to work the tv and air conditioning. It was so nice to get the lay of the land and feel confident getting to the gym, the bar, or to breakfast in the morning! Everyone we encountered was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. Our room was beautiful! We had a giant window facing a beautiful park that let in tons of natural light. We visited in July and were extremely happy to find that our air conditioning worked WELL! This was something we were both worried about beforehand. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the blackout curtains were perfect for sleeping in! We both loved the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - it smelled fantastic and felt very high quality (I'm very picky on my shampoo and conditioner). The hair dryer was also very powerful and high quality which I find is not usually the case in hotels (people with long hair will understand). We had turn down service every evening which was amazing to come back to after a dinner out. What we probably loved the most and what's something I've never seen at a hotel before was the cold plunge! My fiance loves cryotherapy, ice baths, cold plunges and all of those types of things and was ecstatic! I prefer the heat and loved the sauna. The gym was very clean and had everything necessary for a good workout. It even included a swim spa style pool for lap swimming! The amenities at this hotel were just incredible! The food was AMAZING! I highly recommend having breakfast at the hotel. There is always a smoothie and juice of the day and a variety of treats (muffins, toast, etc) to start off... the blueberry and chocolate muffins were to die for! My fiance and I both had and loved the avocado toast with poached eggs as well as the omelette. While we didn't eat dinner at the hotel, we had drinks and snacks at The Stable Bar - cheese toasties, club sandwich, etc. and they were incredible! The Stable Bar was once an actual stable and was absolutely gorgeous and unique (I loved the horse themed artwork and took many pictures). The bartenders were both so sweet - one of my friends was talking about how he was going to Romania the next morning and the bartender gave him a handwritten list of recommendations for his trip! I highly recommend staying at The Milestone Hotel if you're visiting London! The staff are beyond lovely and are genuinely happy to help you have the best stay possible whether that means giving you recommendations for restaurants or museums or giving you a tour of the hotel so you know how to get around! The location is incredible - very central and right across the street from a massive park. The building itself is just gorgeous with spacious, well decorated rooms and beautiful artwork and flowers throughout the hotel. The food and drinks were amazing and the amenities were outrageous (in a good way)! If you want to have a picture-perfect stay in London, stay at the Milestone!

From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for as a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member. Mr. Paolo Guarini, the General Manager, and his exceptional team went above and beyond at every step, and their passion, professionalism, and warmth truly made my stay unforgettable. The property is impeccably maintained, with a modern elevator and attention to every detail that immediately makes you feel at home. Housekeeping was flawless--always replenishing water, providing my preferred L'Occitane toiletries, and happily accommodating my request for a small fridge for my medication. Breakfast quickly became a highlight, with the Eggs Benedict Royale perfectly prepared every morning. I especially want to commend Alejandro, the restaurant manager, who from day 2 onward personally ensured my breakfast experience was flawless, and Albino, who always welcomed me with the best cappuccino. My favorite outdoor table, with my Americano and sweetener ready, made every morning feel truly special. What impressed me most was how the team treated feedback as a gift. On day 1, my breakfast experience wasn't perfect, but after sharing my thoughts, Mr. Guarini personally addressed it with the team, and Alejandro and his team ensured perfection for the remainder of my stay. Meeting Mr. Guarini on my last day, I could see firsthand how much he genuinely cares about guest experiences--it was thoughtful, gracious, and sincere. A particularly memorable moment was when my stay needed to be extended by a day due to a flight change--Mr. Guarini made it happen within minutes, keeping the same room and rate. This level of care and attention makes a guest feel truly valued. While not the cheapest Marriott in London, the value, service, and genuine kindness of the team make every penny worthwhile. They don't just recognize Platinum Elites--they anticipate your needs and make you feel truly at home. Next time, I hope to enjoy the swimming pool, sauna, and fitness facilities, which I know can be arranged via the Concierge team. I consider this now my home away from home when I'm in London, and I will happily return. Every detail, every interaction, and every gesture reminded me why Hotel Xenia is exceptional, and I am deeply grateful to Mr. Guarini and his team for making my stay so unforgettable. Giving this property my highest recommendation.

We were greeted and assisted by an employee who observed us bringing multiple baggages up the entryway stairs. He wished us a Happy Anniversary, informed us that we were being upgraded to a suite on the fifth floor (room 503 yay yay!), shared the many amenities of the hotel, and handed us our keycards. Prior to our arrival in Kensington, we had been staying in smaller boutique hotels during our visits in Amsterdam and Paris. Therefore, the abundance of space in our suite almost made us feel like we were at home. Entering the room, we were greeted by a couch (with a TV mounted nearby) positioned in front of a sliding glass door that lead to a patio with two chairs and a table (not to mention a decent of the city). The kitchen area was complete with a microwave, utensils, plates, bowls, tea cups, coffee mugs, drinking glasses, and champagne flutes. On the counter was an expresso machine, expresso pods, a nifty device for boiling water, and a tasty assortment of chocolates with a message saying "Happy Anniversary!" Below the counter was not one, but two refrigerators (perfect for folks like us who like to purchase small grocery items - including champagne). The bedroom was a decent size with a mounted television (with the ability to access streaming services via Chromecast), snazzy Bluetooth speaker (I made good use of it!), a desk, and bed. I believe in saving the best for last...in my opinion...that would be the bathroom. The bathroom was complete with heated floors (unfortunately we did not get a chance to use them), a HUGE two person (depending on the size of said persons) sitting tub, and an open shower area with a shower head slightly extended from the ceiling (not ideal for folks that do not want to get their hair wet). Also, I forgot to mention that both the shower and hot tub have extensions. Since we were only at the hotel for three days and two nights, we did not have the time to utilize their many amenities. However, we were able to visit Apero, the bar located in the basement. We both ordered drinks from the cocktails menu, which we would later regret. Although flavorful, both drinks were loaded with so much ice that there was obviously little room for the drink itself. For both breakfast and dinner we enjoyed the convenience of room service. For breakfast we ordered the eggs, bacon, and wheat bread...which met our satisfaction's. For dinner we ordered the Chicken Ceasar salad with a side of fries with truffle mayonnaise...delicious! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ampersand Hotel. If you're looking for a hotel in which you can truly relax and enjoy the comfort and serenity of your room, I highly recommend staying here!

We were looking for something fun and different from a traditional afternoon tea, and this definitely leaned more interactive than expected. Arrival and First Impressions Reservations are important, and when we arrived the space was already filled with families. The setting feels polished but still very welcoming for kids, which is not always the case with afternoon tea in London. Service was excellent from the start, organized without feeling too formal, and the overall atmosphere had a fun, lively energy. The Highlights The experience is built around science themed trays filled with a mix of sweet and savory items. The kids immediately locked into the interactive elements, especially the build your own strawberry lemonade with different colored syrups, which turned into more of a mini experiment than just a drink. They also had cake pops, scones, and small PB and J sandwiches, all very approachable and fun. One of the better touches was a small take home item, a dinosaur themed tin, which the kids treated like a prize from the experience. It added to the overall feeling that this was designed with kids in mind. The adult trays had a similar variety with finger sandwiches, pastries, custards, and scones. Everything was solid and there was plenty to try. Being able to request more of anything you liked helped balance things out a bit and made it feel less restrictive for the price. The Challenges The biggest drawback is the cost. For a family of four it came out to around 350 USD, which is a significant spend for what is essentially afternoon tea. It leans more toward a themed experience than a traditional tea service, so if you are expecting something quiet and refined, this may not be the right fit. Final Thoughts This is one of those experiences that works really well if you go in with the right expectations. It is interactive, a little chaotic in a good way, and clearly designed for families more than traditional tea purists. We would not rush back and I removed a star due to the price, but we are glad we did it once because the kids genuinely loved it and still talk about it. If you are looking for something unique and are comfortable with the cost, it is worth it for the experience, though the value depends on how much you lean into the interactive side.
